  1. isn't 125 for engine oil too much too ? i was driving quite hard on my tsi uphill and it was 115. maybe you should check if cooler fins aren't blocked by some leaves ?
  2. now i put in shell helix ultra 5w-40 api sp 5.9 liter (accidentaly a bit over max) and now after 5000 km it is slighly below max, no need to top up 1 liter after 4000 km is it possible that total -> shell oil change did this or it was something completely else ?
  3. Hello. I need to top up 1 liter of oil each 4000 km [2500 miles] (Total 5w40 VW502/505), odo 230 000 km [140 000 miles], 2016 car. Can i try some different viscosity? Thanks
  4. what is your mileage belt is from special material stronger than kevlar that lasts more than 200 000 miles without issue service interval is to check the status first at 130 000 miles and then every 20 000 miles, replace only if needed
  5. hello, will pedalbox which was used in kodiaq tdi and ateca tsi (according to the previous owner) work in superb tsi as well ? as per their website:: PedalBoxes can be accepted in any vehicle in which the same type of accelerator pedal is installed. thanks
  6. could you please recommend suitable diagnostic cable/adapter from aliexpress to have the lane assist timeout increased ? i have only vcds and understand it cannot be used for this thanks
  7. hello. what are the main pros/cons of aliexpress tpms with internal tyre sensor vs outer valve cap is the latter okay to use
  8. i bought this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003155606718.html model "1988" it should contain also other special tools for TSI timing chains
  9. Hello. I have changed few things today like engine oil Total Quartz 9000 5W40 API SP, Total dsg oil, haldex oil, air filter, spark plugs, pcv valve, n205 magnet, both camshaft oil control valves and winter tyres R18 Dynamic from Phaeton. Remaining: rear diff oil, front transfer box oil, brake fluid, coolant g12evo, cabin filter, maybe prop shaft flexible coupling...
  10. just swap, afaik magnet N205 06L 109 259 D - Steel bolt: 9 Nm - reuse // Aluminum bolt: 4 Nm + turn 45 degrees - replace you might consider also oil control valve until 2016/06/13 = 06L 109 257 F after 2016/06 = 06L 109 257 H after 12.4.2022 06L109257G until 12.4.2022 06L109257H 35Nm reverse threaded
  11. hello, i bought some 235 R18 winter wheels and they just barely fit 4 in the trunk standing next to each other [estate]. i'm just curious if also four 245 R18/R19 wheels would fit? (and what about liftback?)
  12. and how should we know what is approved for your engine and what actually do you have there now ? check this document https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10170208-0001.pdf G40 should be same as G12++ when was the coolant replaced last time ? it isn't lifetime fluid
  13. lol DQ200 with dry clutches ? = not a good idea either DQ381 ... frequent mechatronics failures if you don't ruin your DPF in TDI by being ignorant, it lasts long
  14. i have 2016 2.0 tsi 280hp, almost 11 l/100 km [26 mpg], very bad mileage. with e5 ron 100 petrol, as 98 is not sold here and 95 e10 is not recommended. i dont know/trust PHEV. would consider this only if you can charge it daily at home and will sell it before it breaks. i would go with 2.0 tdi. pay attention you don't shut down the engine during dpf regen and change oil much sooner than skoda says. regarding trim for sure you want all the parking sensors, camera, radars, heated alcantara
  15. i have question if some PCD 5x112 rims from other cars like audi, bmw, mercedes will fit on superb ? what to look for ? of course i need to watch for Einpresstiefe but what about center bore size for example? thanks
  16. there is some coding possible, some say it does something, not tried personally Controller 01- Engine 07 - Coding Byte 0, Bit 0-2, Change from Škoda (01) to AUDI (02) this will dramatically reduce lag on pressing accelerator pedal.
  17. is the signal light visible from the rear ? one superb owner had those chinese where it is not and while changing the lanes he hit unmarked police car. the officers immediately knew there is something wrong with his blinker. resume: he was found to be at fault (of course, as he was). & insurance company refused to cover the repair cost for the police car damage because of non-homologated turn signal. after reading that i forgot any dynamic indicator "upgrades"
  18. re throttle response i heard that it is because of GPF - on this specific 272 hp version. before 280 (without gpf) and after 280 (different turbo) hp models are reportedly better of course the newer 280 is best.
  19. A blocked EGR cooler can lead to improper combustion, resulting in increased soot production. This excess soot can overwhelm the DPF, causing it to clog more quickly A malfunctioning EGR cooler can cause temperature fluctuations in the exhaust system, which can affect the regeneration process of the DPF All these DPF issues started with this EGR issue ?
  20. everything has some lifespan and many things go wrong even before. frequent dpf regens might be caused by age/wear of filter itself (many miles, city driving), bad injectors (many miles, low quaility fuel), leak in the system. if the filter is full due to bad injector(s), you need to replace all of those. there is nothing such like cleaning the filter or using a second hand (=same condition) one. if there was any liquid used during the cleaning of dpf, its capacity was significantly reduced. diesel injector can be [very] bad despite you put it on testing and they gave you protocol from test bench that all values are in spec (own experience) and the car was driving very well whole time. also there is nothing such like used/2nd hand injector or refurbished one. only official bosch injector exchange is worth of it (or a brand new one).
  21. if the "auto" led is not on, you are in manual mode cancelling out all the benefits of automatic climate control. not sure why you would like to do it like this (long term), as defsix said, if in auto it is not working well, you might have problem with servos or something. during normal operation AUTO is on and you should control it only via temperature.
  22. after accident dealer replaced front bumper, headlight, fender, etc. but not the parking sensor. it was still working few weeks after i received the car and then it stopped. luckily it was visible on the photo just after the accident that the impact was also over the sensor and the insurance accepted it and was replaced later too. so, if there was some shock to the sensor, it can act weirdly and fail at any random time
  23. do not buy car with sunroof if the car is out of warranty (i made the same mistake) you can try to clean it completely and then lube it with special grease N 052 567 GB or G 060 567 A2 / Fuchs Carbaflo 2160 or Krytox GPL 206
  24. "For vehicles without filter this means Haldex service every 10 000 miles" Superb3's Haldex5 has NO FILTER because smart engineers removed it
  25. i have question regarding those magnets. what are these two holes there for? when i took it out, there was oil coming from the holes out and the center axis was like stuck - due to oil. should the o-rings completely seal it, so no oil at all gets inside the magnet housing, or is oil inside normal? thanks
