Škoda Connect App Down?
@kederov I've just emailed them asking if when it’s back up my vehicle and related data will still be there or if that information has been lost.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
@Endomorph Yup no problem, they’re all genuine Škoda parts sourced from eBay 👍🏻 Wheel nut caps (including locking wheel nut caps) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274831247044?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=owxUDzwwQsC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=8lthBdv8RWy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Centre caps (x4) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203473056445?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=66fpUu8-SBC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=8lthBdv8RWy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY The prices do fluctuate and have risen slightly since I bought them, there are also a few other stores on eBay that sell genuine Škoda parts but the two above were the cheapest at the time. Hope that helps.

Wireless Charging
Mine was a factory order and is the current 23 MY, the facelift model features a redesigned front grille and headlights/bumper, I don’t think there were any changes internally other than strange spec differences like the issue you raised here. I know they alloys have changed since I took delivery of mine, mine came with 19” Sagittarius alloys where as the ‘latest’ ones are coming with 19” Vega alloys. I guess I, and possibly you, have been caught at the point where the spec changes over slightly.

Wireless Charging
It seems like they’ve changed the spec yet again then, although their current online brochure doesn’t reflect this, Škoda really are poor when it comes to keeping things up to date in their literature and online brochures. Out of interest when did you order your Karoq? I ordered mine at the end of last November and took delivery last month.

Wireless Charging
I’ve got a 23 MY SportLine and wireless charging isn’t a standard feature that I can see from the specification, it’s listed under ‘optional equipment’.

Depending on your engine there’s a huge thread running on the subject here…

Wireless Charging
I was talking to the dealers about specs the other week when I had to pop back and they were saying that specs have been a nightmare for the last 18-24 months. Car were being supplied with what were normally a cost option due the shortages. The VC being a big one, he was saying virtually every Karoq they supplied new up until quite recently came with the full VC at no extra cost to the customer. Also things like wireless charging was another thing that seemed to be pot luck as to if it was fitted or not. Another that was mentioned was the full VC, he reckons it will be standard fitment later this year.

New car.
I agree but I’m stuck with the Sagittarius ones for now, but at least now I’ve ditched the stupid inserts they look fairly presentable. I only picked mine up last month so must have had some of the last ones left 😆

Wireless Charging
I believe the wireless charging only comes as part of the package with the full virtual cockpit on the SportLine, mine doesn’t have wireless charging (and specifically didn’t want it) so no great loss to me. In hindsight I’m also glad I’ve got the standard 8” digital cockpit as after spending a bit of time driving an Octavia with the full VC I found it far too fussy and busy, the 8” version is so much ‘cleaner’ and also, to me at least, looks sharper.

New car.
Very nice, you’ve got the Vega’s as well instead of the Sagittarius rims with the daft inserts. Having just got in from a drive on a nice undulating country ‘B’ road I’m quite impressed with the 1.5 TSI (manual in my case), it seems to be loosening up now after 1000 miles. I’m also impressed with the handling given how tall the car is. I’ve managed just 42.8 mpg after todays rather spirited drive so not too bad, best mpg to date is 49.5 without trying.

What Discount Can I Expect From a Main Dealer?
That’s what I’m wondering, surely an almost 3 year lead time can’t be right.
-
What Discount Can I Expect From a Main Dealer?
That’s crazy! There’s no way I could be bothered to wait that long for a car.

What Discount Can I Expect From a Main Dealer?
I must admit that’s what I did, I would’ve been happy to complete the sale via Carwow but in the end one of the dealers reluctantly beat the other 😂

The Wax/Car Cleaning/Detailing Product Review Thread
I’m somewhat of a cynic when bold claims are made about products but this one (so far) has impressed me. The ‘Sam’s Detailing’ drying towel, a large, single-sided twisted loop towel that seems to hold a lot of water and dried most of my car before it needed wringing out. I’d happily buy another over my previous drying towels. https://www.samsdetailing.co.uk/products/drying-towel No association with the above company other than being happy with their product.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
I cleaned mine up and hung them up out of harms way at the back of the garage where they’ll stay until it’s time to move it on. I was back at the dealers last week and they were saying how much better the wheels look without “those daft inserts” (their words) and they’ve now been dropped from new orders.

Aero inserts on 19” Alloys
They look so much nicer don’t they, plus over time those trims are bound to cause damage to the alloys from movement/vibration and the dirt and grime getting trapped between the insert and the surface of the alloy.

Karoq pictures
Very nice, you certainly won’t be losing that in the car park 😎👍🏻
