  1. @Carlston Amazingly concise information, that’s brilliant thank you! I’ve no idea why you can’t spec a different rim size from the factory, I just don’t understand the obsession with huge alloys 😆
  2. Apologies for the thread hijack but would there be any issues in fitting the above quoted size to a 2WD variant on 19” Sagittarius alloys? I’m hopefully picking up our SportLine in about 4 weeks but unfortunately even with a factory order there’s no chance to swap the ridiculous 19’s for something smaller, so was wondering when the time comes to renew tyres is there an alternative tyre size that would suit the existing rim, thanks.
  3. By way of a quick update from the dealer today; the car is built and awaiting transport from the factory to the docks at Emden. Hoping to be in a Škoda by the beginning of March 😁
  4. Chip shortages raises its head again, not good news if you’re waiting on certain models. Also not good news for the Škoda workforce… https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/vws-skoda-auto-cuts-production-due-chip-shortage-trade-unions-2023-01-30/
  5. No chance of a golden sunrise this morning but still worth the walk nonetheless.

Very nice! Looks great 😎 Welcome to the forum
  7. One from this afternoon’s chilly dog walk.
  8. That was almost a deal breaker for us too as another local dealer had one in stock, although not in our first choice of colour, but given the deal we got from the supplying dealer we couldn’t really turn it down, plus luckily we’re in a position where we can wait. (Even though I’m completely impatient and literally counting down the days 😂)
  9. We never intended to buy new but these things tend to escalate 😂 As it turned out for us the price differential between new and something 12-18 months old swung us towards a new one, I expect this will start to change soon given how crazy used car prices have been for a while. We were originally going for a pre-facelift model (an SEL with options) as it had more toys on than the one we’ve ordered. The subject of oil in the VW/VAG world does seem to be a somewhat over complicated affair.
  10. I’m interested to see which spare and foam the dealer will have supplied when I finally pick up my SportLine (4x2) fitted with daft 19” wheels.
  11. I do hope so as I’m waiting on delivery of my first Škoda, also a Karoq (4x2)! Always had a soft spot for Saab’s after spending many miles in the back of a 96 as a kid. Welcome to the forum.
  12. 😳🤣 And welcome by the way 😂
  13. Here’s a UK based light coloured one… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354510467684?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=OFRhPSGuQ2S&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=8lthBdv8RWy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  14. There’s a few on eBay at the moment, just one example here… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285075557617?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=MqvttqLqQzO&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=8lthBdv8RWy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  15. Welcome! Also a first time Škoda buyer waiting on a Karoq. Getting a spare wheel was one of the bargaining chips we used to seal the deal and place the order, I can’t emphasise enough how much I hate that stupid gel/foam nonsense supplied these days in lieu of an actual spare 😆

Thanks for the clarification, glad I wasn’t imagining it! I haven’t even got my Škoda yet but I’ve read so much stuff on here these last few weeks about things that could possibly affect my vehicle. (A Karoq when I finally get it…)
  17. I do miss it on the admittedly few times we get snow, it was great to go out and ‘play’. I remember going out one year for a drive in the snow across Cannock Chase and a couple in a Mazda something-or-other flagged me down asking if I could tow them out of a drainage ditch at the side of the road. I asked them why they thought I had a tow strop and they said “you drive a Defender, of course you’ll have a tow rope” 😂

I may be completely wrong and I can’t find the relevant thread now but I’m sure I’ve read on here somewhere that when setting up Connect for the first time you have to have both key fobs in the car?
  19. Yeah the price of them now is horrific! I had a 90 for a few years in between having the two 110’s, the 90 was great fun, especially off road or greenlaning but the 110 was the far more practical of the two. I fitted a GKN overdrive to my first 110 and that transformed the ride comfort on longer drives.
  20. For all of their, let’s call them ‘characteristics’ 🤭, I always loved my Defender(s), this one was my third and last one somewhere along the Old Coach Road in Cumbria on New Years Day 2009.
  21. @Penpusher Thanks for the reply. Good to hear a real use case as I was contemplating getting some as we do several lengthy road trips a year and anything that makes the sometimes tedious motorway sections more bearable has got to be a bonus.
  22. Thread resurrection! Having just seen these on a parts website and then curiously Googling what they are and is there any point to them the trail led me back here. So…not too much love for them either way in the previous posts so I was wondering if since the last post anyone has actually found out if they are genuinely useful or not, has anyone used them for the intended purpose? Are they big/tall enough to be of any actual benefit to passengers on longish journeys?
  23. I’ve been using Unipart ‘All Season’ screenwash concentrate at a 50:50 mix successfully for several years now. It does seem to be more difficult to track down though these days. Halfords concentrate isn’t too bad either at the same dilution although it is a few quid more when bought in the same quantity. (5L)
  24. Hi

Welcome! Looking forward to getting mine early next year, what colour did you go for?
  25. Thanks @Igdos looks to be the same system, which isn’t what I was expecting, argh! 🤦‍♂️
