So I went and bought a Jaaaag
That Jag is glorious. Beautiful lines. Brings back memories of that episode of Top Gear when Clarkson was driving either a Jag or Aston Martin bemoaning the death of such cars, a fine piece of filming. Just looked it up, TG s13 episode 7, he was driving the AM Vantage v12

Virtual Cockpit 2023
Not sure what you’re meaning by not having separate speedo and rev counters visible? For what it’s worth I like the dash on our 2020 Sportline, clear, crisp instrumentation for both day and night driving; particularly liking the illuminated dials at night.

Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.
We had a Freelander for five years until Khan imposed his whim; no recall issues with that either although I was aware there were mechanical problems that numerous forum members experienced time and again but JLR wouldn’t accept as worthy of recall.

RR subject to a recall? Surely not. Thought RR always denied there was anything wrong with their vehicles 😂

Coming up to three year service
Thanks everyone. Made a couple of enquiries of local garages and they came back at £75 so may as well have dealers sort it whilst they have the car. Saves taking it off road for a second trip elsewhere.

Coming up to three year service
So there’s the service schedule, thanks. Interested to see the 3 year costing £195 - dealer gave me a figure of £252.39 which seems to include the MOT of £54.85 for which I have a free voucher; thought that would have appeared on their system as only bought the car from them six months ago, clearly not. Any way I see the brake fluid is separately mentioned but not priced so will sound out local Indy or garage around the corner for a price before calling the dealer for theirs. Update - under their separate pricing schedule it looks as if brake fluid change is £85.20 (which I assume isn’t just the labour 😂) May see if there’s any discount offered being they’ll already have the car in 🤞

Coming up to three year service
Was invited in for a free, yes free, pre-Mot check, wash and vac, supposedly by way of a 3rd birthday treat 😂 Had that Monday, all ok, although wouldn’t use them as a regular valeter! Bodywork cleaned of a few mud marks but windows smeared in places and as for the vac that officially only covers the basic footwells so of course when I slid my seat back there was a load of crap that I’d normally vac myself. Oh well, it was free 😏 Will speak to them about the brake fluid change, just wasn’t sure if it was included in the three year service.

Coming up to three year service
As the heading says, the cars up for its first MOT and the three-year service in a few weeks. Was given a voucher for a free MOT when we bought the car and have been quoted £253 for the service. Have since received an email to say the brake fluid is due for a change. If that is indeed the case then obviously I’ll get it organised for when the cars booked in for the service unless it’s included ? I suspect there’s a schedule somewhere on here showing what’s included and additional cost items but couldn’t immediately find it. Thank you

Karoq Tyres
We had similar issues with our Sportline and the 19in Bridgestones. I hoped that we’d get used to them having just come out of a Freelander but it was literally a pita every time we hit a speed bump, pothole, cats-eyes and Significant Other was constantly looking out and forewarning me of any such hazard ahead of us. Quite frankly, driving was no longer enjoyable and we’d had the car less than a month. Against the advice of my learned colleagues on here who recommended downsizing, I took a chance and bought Michelin CrossClimates which have been an absolute revelation as far as I’m concerned, like chalk and cheese, wouldn’t believe this was the same car to drive. Aesthetically they look better than the Bridgestones and far more important no more complaints from SO so win-win 👍

Not as responsive as Octavia
Fitted CrossClimates on our Sportline to replace the OEM Bridgestones, absolute revelation, chalk and cheese.

One Call Insurance
Where on earth are they getting those labour rates from? Not sure how they’d deal with a London based customer. £60ph 😂😂

Not as responsive as Octavia
We moved out of a Freelander into a Sportline 1.5dsg and by comparison it can be responsive around the twisty bits, even for a 2wd. However doesn’t compare with our old Impreza or Forester but then you’re talking different beasts altogether; so miss that Impreza 😥

Which Karoq DSG?
General driving about, shops, visiting local National Trusts etc so no significant motorway distances has returned me say 35-40mpg over the past 6 months. We have a 1.5dsg auto Sportline Karoq

Am I mad for considering a 1.2tsi Fabia with 190k on the clock?
I’m no expert and only been driving a Skoda since April but personally that sounds a lot of miles, especially for a petrol. Personally not sure I’d consider such high mileage but am no expert when it comes to Skoda expectations

It’s probably ‘operator error’ 😉
Yep, operator error. Must have pressed one of the steering wheel buttons when I was taking off the steering wheel lock. All sorted and I’ll know for next time as there’ll undoubtedly be a next time. Queue the Muppet Show theme tune 😂

It’s probably ‘operator error’ 😉
. . . but I’ve got ‘infotainment system switched off’ message appeared on the dash. However, all the available options - radio, phone, media, car etc seem to be working. Normally I have the car and compass graphics in the dash and they’re not showing, neither is the localised navigation info. I suspect I’ve touched a steering wheel button but 🤬if I can reverse it. Anyone help me out? Thank you Update - just been searching on here and it seems I posted pretty much the same question back in July when this previously happened but it seems I resolved the problem myself, updated that post accordingly adding that Significant Other would get great mileage out of this being operator error. Sadly I never noted how I’d resolved the problem 😄 so unless anyone can throw any light of exactly what I’ve done, I suppose it’s down to playing with steering wheel buttons in the morning

Swapped to Karoq from Kamiq.
We’ve had a Karoq Sportline since April and the ride on the 19in OEM Bridgestones was horrid, felt every pothole, speed-bump and so on. Rather than accept advice on here, I decided instead to keep the Vega rims and fit Michelin CrossClimates and it transformed the ride instantly, chalk and cheese. Significant Others happy as well, so win-win 😄

SOLD- 2017(67) Skoda Octavia vRS 245 Estate DSG
Lovely looking motor, shouldn’t have any problems selling

Which Karoq engine?
We bought a Sportline 1.5dsg a few months back and have been very impressed with how responsive the engine has been, even uphill 😄 The Karoq replaced a Freelander, and before that we had a Forester and Impreza so different animals altogether, but apart from the fact we’re now just 2wd, I don’t regret the purchase. Never driven the 1.0 so no comparison I’m afraid

Best Skoda for mostly short drives & occasional longer trip?
Hi, I was forced to sell our beloved Freelander thanks to Khan and his 🤬 ULEZ expansion. I was looking for an SUV or similar, mainly as I have problems with my knees, I weighed up numerous options having read no end of motoring magazines and reviews and eventually decided on a Karoq which gave me the access and driving position I needed. To be honest I’d have preferred to have stayed with the LR badge and bought a Discovery but really couldn’t justify the running costs and Significant Other wasn’t keen for something that big again 😏 Any way, we bought a 2020 plate 1.5 dsg Sportline and have been very pleased with it. Returns an average of 40mpg, which is mainly local runs with perhaps a weekly A road run of maybe 60-70 miles. Which is obviously a considerable saving over a Discovery! Small issue with the infotainment, satnav etc in the beginning which dealer dealt with by way of a software update. My only other grouse was with the 19in Bridgestones which were standard on the Sportline but we’d feel the slightest bump, pot hole, speed bump, a nightmare. Advice on the forum was to swap the wheels for 17in but I decided to go against that and fit Michelin CrossClimates which have proved an absolute revelation by comparison.

You have been selected.... (again!!)
I’ve had a similar communication, again. We’d only had our car a month before the first letter with the offer of ‘financial package’ arrived and I felt it was a shame they couldn’t offer anything by way of discounting when we’d bought

2023 Karoq SEL trip meter reset?
But there is a single button, or at least there is in our 2020 model
-
2023 Karoq SEL trip meter reset?
Ours is a 2020 Sportline and has a reset button where the steering wheel meets the bottom of the dash; that make sense? From my eyeline in the drivers seat it’s not very obvious. If I knew how to post photos I would do.

Quiet tyre recommendations?
I bought mine a couple of months back through Camskill who had an offer on; combine that with a Michelin cashback offer of £15 a tyre that pretty much covered the fitting
