10 months update-Karoq sportline 1.5dsg
. . . . . . . but if you add a go faster stripe you’d see a real change 😂

Passenger door mirror dip
We’ve a Sportline Karoq that has the manual seat adjustment and I really miss the dipping mirrors that I had on our previous Freelander

Kodiaq sat nav
😂 that’s very ‘out of town’. I see your problem

Mudflaps
Once upon a time Ikea sold fairly flexible ‘thin rubber’ cutting boards and on the recommendation of a member on a club forum I bought four and had my local garage cut them to shape and fit them to my Impreza. Because they were being cut I could have them as long as wanted and being square along the bottom edge they deflected much more away from the underside of the car than the OEM mudflaps which pretty much ‘moulded’ around the rear of the wheel arches. They also had the ‘rally car’ look which fitted the image of the Impreza. Great investment for very little money.

Kodiaq sat nav
But does the ‘strange out of town destination’ not have a road name attached to it?
-
Kodiaq sat nav
When we first bought our Karoq I couldn’t understand why when inputting a postcode it always generated map co-ordinates, even when the postcode might be for say a NT property. I’ve since been led to believe from forum responses that the satnav pinpoints the centre of the postcode so could cover a large area. Obviously in my example you’d hope a NT property would then be highlighted on the map. That’s all well and good but doesn’t work if you’re heading to a normal address in which case it’s best to input the exact address rather than postcode. Bit clumsy but it does seem to work and iirc it’ll save that as the previous destination

£390?. Was that for the whole car? After all you haven’t posted any images of the passenger side 😂 Seriously though, that red is a refreshing change

Eco mode in drive mode selection
Sorry OP wasn’t making light of your comment, think my post would have read better if I’d said “no hassle I just select Eco . . . . “ Quite agree, wouldn’t have thought it an issue for the system default to have been as it was when last switched off.

Eco mode in drive mode selection
I noticed on my Karoq that the default is to normal mode when the ignition is switched off. No real hassle, just select Eco again when moving

Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
Neither am I and wouldn’t use them as my first choice but they’re local. Something like the Disklok might be cheaper on line
-
Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
Believe Halfords got 10% off deal, code MOTORING10 plus £10 voucher for joining their club. May be worth a look? Without any deals they’re asking £150, less for the locking bars
-
Steering wheel Clamps, added security?
I’ve used a Strongarm(?) bar that fits across the steering wheel for many years, similar to the Stoplock. Sits in the footwell behind my seat when not in use. Believe the Disklok is regarded as the top device and priced accordingly. But the money being asked is small compared to the value of your car and the inconvenience of having it nicked. I don’t think you’ll find any vehicle is immune to theft, I take the view that anything visible may act as a deterrent as it’ll slow down the thieving scumbags.

Visually etc. My car of the day -today
Saw a McLaren 540c coupe S-A in a local Sainsbury’s, reg X1 VRR. Suspect the owner was in the next door gym, after all not going to get their weeks shopping in the boot are they 😏

Is that the new Kia?

Breakdown cover
I’ll be doing the same when the Skoda cover runs out. I was previously with Driver Guardian and it was less than £100 for full UK and Europe cover; think the comparable cover with AA at the time was well over £200
-
Karoq front badge
We already have black lettering, rear badge and front grill so that black bonnet badge would finish it off nicely. Does the badge pull off and the new one plug in or is it all glued down?
-
Breakdown cover
Ironically although you could consider the tyres were ‘all-in’ when we bought the car, I got shot of them within a month because (a) they only just satisfied the bare minimum as regards tread and (b) they provided such a crap ride. As for ‘free AA’ I wasn’t made aware that’s who Skoda Assistance was managed by but it did save shelling out £s to sort my own cover. Although I’ve only had cause to use them once (we waited well over 3 hours for a tyre to be dealt with) I’m hoping that I’ll not need to call them out again before the cover expires when I’ll chose my own provider
-
Breakdown cover
Downside to the Skoda assistance is that it’s provided by AA which wouldn’t be my personal choice but hey it’s free so I’ll stick with it until it runs out.

Replacement tyre recommendations.
A vote from me for Michelin CrossClimates - fitted to my Karoq and previously on a Freelander and Subaru Forester. Good all around all-season tyre

Skoda karoq modification
We have the exact same car, albeit on a 2020 plate, but cannot think why anyone would want to fit a body kit to it? Not exactly sure what it’d achieve?

Front wipers
New blades fitted, not a sound, barely knew they were even switched on. Decent investment at only £19.99 👍 They’re branded Bosch at the end as in @xmans post, the ones they’ve replaced weren’t so possibly those weren’t pukka ones.
-
Karoq front badge
Like you OP we have a Sportline and I recall the dealer saying the model was distinguished by the dark badges. But why then have a chrome badge on the front?
-
Front wipers
Thanks everyone; handy seeing the branding on the wipers, certainly nothing on mine so perhaps they’re not true Aerotwin? New ones arriving tomorrow, let’s see what they look like
-
Front wipers
It’s frustrating that because there’s no obvious markings on the existing blades they might well be Aerotwin so I could simply be replacing like for like. Still, for £20, worth a try and if it doesn’t offer a solution at least I’ve got a spare set of blades. And it’ll be back to the drawing board looking for a solution to the scraping blade; might be a case of turning the radio up 😄
