  1. its a gell that they put inside the turbo for an hour to remove all the carbon and help prevent overboost due to sticking vanes
  2. had my remap done there on tuesday and probably geting my clutch done by jim as well did he ask you about turbo treatment ? ive tried to do a bit of research but its came up blank so far :confused:

  4. use some dental floss in a sawing action between the arial and the glass then some ipa to clean off the window
  5. i was under the impresion that if its a toll road its a private road that you pay for the privilage to use so there is no speed limit :confused: ive only used it once and i stuck to the inside lane to let the faster drivers pass easliy and my wee 1.4 civic was well and truly embarased
  6. being a tight scotish git i dont go to rolling roads at all plus it still gives you an indication of the amount of increase that any mods have been made i never expected vagcom to be as acurate as a r/r if it was then i would expect every gaarage to have a set of free running rollers(or a long straight flat bit of road) and a copy of vagcom :P
  7. @ basil im off work for a week from monday so i will put together a how to for the vagcom logs and graphs @ shifty the screen wash seems to work ok. today i drained the tank and filled it with 50/50 w/m but it will be 08:30 on tuesday morning before it goes on the rollers at star performance;) i now just need to start saving/working o/t to pay for a new clutch and flywheel:(
  8. iv just picked up some of these they come in packs of three and i plan to refit the nozel with one the tank fitting with another and the crankcase breather filter can use the last one
  9. is that silicon (3M shiny very good but poor cut resistance) self amalgamating tape or butyl (cheaper not shiny but very good cut resistance ) at £7.00 a roll :eek: self amalgamating tape has its uses but sealing an air intake is a bit of overkill
  10. hello every one i have just joined your wonderful forum i bought an Octavia vrs two months ago it has been lowered quite a bit and i want to replace the bushes i have tried powerflex and i think they are not very good as they have not been fitted properly can you recommend me something better like a 106 or a nova

  13. this is from memory and may be wrong but i think there is a post about this somewhere on here about this and its caused by corosion on the terminals for the sensor pull the plug out and have a look im sure thers a fix for it as well but my memory's a bit iffy tonight
  14. i nicked mine from an old washing machine but you could use rubber hose or for an oem look some black flexible electrical conduit (they ran out at my last place of work hence the w/m hose)
  15. not to sure what happened at 3.K rmp but the roads were still a bit damp (that was my third run) to be honest vag com is ok for a quick check but i need some time on a dyno .at least i will know how accurate the vag com method is is it a cheap nos system ..basicaly yes its similar
  16. no its a water methanol injection kit it "sprays" the mix into the air intake pipework and cools the air charge some more info can be gotten here
  17. got my d/o kit finished up today and i must say im quite impressed with the results max torque comes in much sooner so so far ive only tried it on halfrauds blue screenwash tommorow i will try it with 50/50 water methanol and see what difference it makes right now im off out for another drive edit added some before and after graphs i will try and get another one done with a 50/50 mix but only if the roads are dry ..... maybe now its time for a remap before fmic wmi.pdf devils own screenwash.pdf
  18. or try piaa silicone wipers quite simply the best wiper i have ever tried and you dont need aquapel or rainx or any other potion as the wipers coat the window as you wipe

  21. he wont be making plates much longer :( as the government have tightened up on the regulations and have banned the manufacture and sale of showplates
  22. im sorry but im not too keen on the new colour scheme its a bit sore on my eyes and the freedome member dont stand out as much just my opinion
