Battery and alternator advice needed please.
Dropping to 10.6v whilst cranking is not necessarily a sign of a bad battery, but it's getting close . The bounce back to 13.3v then dropping to 12.1v could be a sign that everything is working as normal because initially after the cranking the alternator responds to put it back. Once idling it then depends upon what you have switched on in the car Lights/heater etc. Once thee engine is running the BMS starts it's process off running the car and slowly replenishing the battery How it works from our good friends at AI In essence a car that does mainly short trips, especially in colder weather could require maintenance charging each week.

If it' is an "S" or "N" it is by definition repairable only "A" and "B" are non-repairable. Youtubers can repair the car because they use the car as "Content" which pays them for repairing it. Some Cars probably yours included was repairable if someone could get hold of it cheap enough and still make a profit after costs. Not many challenge a write off figure for a month and get to keep the hire car. As soon as the offer is accepted the hire car ends. So saves the Insurance company a fortune. The Insurance company are also more likely to insist on Genuine parts for the repairs too, Cars bought from copart can be repaired with whatever the repairer choose. It's annoying when it happens but unfortunately it is what it is.- the truth about electric cars
The way around this is to challenge their offer with evidence. Find equivalent cars on autotrader to back up your claim and dig in. Once they make a write off offer your procrastination starts increasing their costs and if you have a valid case you get a lot closer to your true replacement cost. usually the mean of examples evidenced. Touch wood only twice have I had to do that.- the truth about electric cars
Insurance companies will go for the best solution for them. Car repairers will go for the best option for the quickest fix. It doesn't mean it's the cheapest way it's just the most efficient, Labour costs being so high. In the scenario in this video for the sake of a broken battery coolant pipe fitting Tesla would go for changing the battery, then sending the battery for refurbish and testing for supplying to another crashed damaged car later. Doesn't mean that someone with the right knowledge and time could not do it cheaper. But it does cap the cost to a price for the repair and keeps the car safe after the impact. The guy in the video says straight forward repair, see what you think?- the truth about electric cars

I can see mileage reporting on change of keeper becoming mandatory instead of optional. Maybe a self report of mileage covered for the first three years then it's taken care of by MOT. Any false reporting could then be retrospectively applied by AI. I think people are underestimating the power AI has when given access to data. Things that used to take days and weeks to process and check can be done in minutes with linked data bases.- Man-Made Climate Change: The Need for Immediate Action
The EU puts levy's on the Chinese cars to protect it's own Car industries. There are only 8 individual models of Car assembled in the UK that would likely be helped by the UK doing the same. It could be that in the future the tax free allowance and the state pension will be linked, if only to save the cost of chasing getting money they pay out back? Maybe that is even the reason 2028 was chosen as the date in the first place?- the truth about electric cars
I can only try and explain how it worked in my case. I retired in September. Always previously being paid through PAYE, I got a letter from HMRC stating that the state pension is not taxed at source and that amount i was to receive by end of next March added to what I had already earned meant that they did not have enough time, by reducing my tax code for my private pension to collect what i need to pay in full. By the end of the tax year based upon what they know my private pension is i will owe them £xxxx. So they have adjusted my tax code to collect the most they can of the shortfall by March and will do it again next year until clear. I hope this information is useful for when you do reach Retirement age when your state pension starts. If they continue as planned with the allowance frozen and state pension continues to be triple locked it will probably exceed the allowance by 2028 and pensioners on only the basic state pension will get a bill- the truth about electric cars
I don't think that is going to happen. If you are a 40% tax payer this year. Be prepared in a few weeks after you retire to get a bill for up to £92.10 a week on your state pension for the weeks to the end of the tax year. Because the state pension is not taxed at source- Headlight symbol on dashboard

Of course they are because those on mega money, who control the Governments want to keep you voting for low taxation and want to stop you joining them, They can use these avoidance techniques to the max. Top rate of tax used to come in at £20,000 in the 1970s that would be £235,000 a year now.- the truth about electric cars
I don't understand why the Government allowed salary sacrifice for vehicles apart from an effort to help the Car industry. They don't give tax relief on mortgage payments anymore so i don't see why it should be for other purchases Pension addition as a salary sacrifice make sense because it gets taxed when paid out with the added benefit of increasing money in the banking system to replenish what was lost in the increasingly long ago crash and reduces payments of means tested benefits in the future. I think the problem is Governments don't really think long term. All the loopholes should be closed and the system would be easier to manage and avoid the avoidance. You can get interest tax free on £20,000 in an ISA- the truth about electric cars
For a higher rate taxpayer to pay £1,000 tax on interest on savings would require interest paid of £3,000 which is close to £70,000 in the bank. I still can't see how leaving the money in the bank and paying for something they could buy outright with a deposit then £100 a month saves a lot of money If the deposit was £3,000 and they took it from savings in that scenario they would save £52.80 in tax- the truth about electric cars
