  1. A lot of energy is used by commercial business. Some big users may not be allowed the tariffs? It's not bull**** i suppose it's more like "spin", If the supplier has to use the naughty stuff to keep your lights on there will be times when there is enough "green" being sold to people not on the tariff to compensate later.
  2. I think they just have to prove they have bought enough off the green suppliers to cover what they have claimed to have sold.
  3. In win 10 Click on window "start" shows three columns "most used" which shows most used apps at the top then an alphabetical list below. "life at a glance" Not sure how that is populated but shows date, weather. and finally " play and explore" if you scroll down the alphabetical list on the left for the programs you use most, right click and pin to start, they appear in "play and explore"
  4. Apologies, that's windows 11 I'll get back to you shortly
  5. No idea about Classic shell but in Win 10 all the programs are classed as "Apps" if you click on the window you get a list of "pinned" apps. You can right click on them and "unpin" You can also click "all apps" and select the ones you want pinned by right clicking and click "pin to start"
  6. Have you styrofoamed the non-viewing sides or at least the back? We had three large tropical tanks in the 90's i dread to think what they cost to run now.
  7. I wonder how many people "normally" cook Sunday lunch and do the washing/drying between 1 and 2pm?
  8. It's a sales campaign that they can probably fund as a business expense? But also tests the system for when they want to charge people different prices per hour based upon their individual use?
  9. he could be right but as far as i am aware his trailer would have to be 34 years old?
  10. Had you unzipped them before transferring to the stick?

  12. Previously, legislation didn't allow access to these features in the UK, but now you can press a button on your app and your car will come out and meet you. As long as it's private land, of course. It will take a change in legislation to allow it on the road. The moment you activate the app you would be committing the offence? (on a public road)
  13. Helps if you are maneuvering under a tow hitch
  14. I use https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/?search=Electric vehicle&lang=en&searchheadlines=1 EVs – whether fully electric (BEV) or plug-in hybrids (PHEV) – sold worldwide were at 1.35 million in July, of which 0.88 million were in China, where they were up 31 per cent year-on-year, the data showed. PHEVs sold in China in the first seven months of 2024 were up 70 per cent from last year. BYD, China’s and the world’s biggest EV maker, reported in the same period increases of 13 per cent and 44 per cent in its global BEV and PHEV sales, respectively. In Europe, monthly sales were down 7.8 per cent in July, to year-to-date figures in line with 2023. In the seven months to July, they dropped by 12 per cent in Germany, the EU’s biggest EV market. In the United States and Canada, EV sales were up 7.1 per cent in July. https://cyprus-mail.com/2024/08/15/global-electric-vehicle-sales-increase-by-21-per-cent-in-july/
  15. "In short, this is a story with legs and has the potential to spark a global discussion around EV battery transparency. The incident highlights the stark contrast in approaches to battery disclosure across different regions. While it's rare for EV makers in the US to disclose a car's battery brand, the European Union has taken a proactive approach. Last year, the EU approved a mandatory "battery passport" for EVs, set to take effect in 2027." https://www.techspot.com/news/104256-mercedes-benz-ev-fire-south-korea-could-lead.html
  16. "In the case of the vehicle involved in the Incheon accident, batteries made by Farasis Energy have experienced recalls in the United States and China in the past due to fire risks. Lee Ho-geun, an automotive professor at Daeduk University, said, "Given that Farasis batteries have been pointed out for stability issues in the past, I cautiously predict that the cause might be a design or manufacturing defect." Experts advise that to prevent EV fires during heat waves, it is best to avoid using ground-level chargers and to use slow chargers, ensuring that the battery is not charged beyond 90 percent. "By charging only up to 85 percent with a slow charger, you can prevent over 95 percent of EV fires caused by thermal runaway," Lee said." https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20240807001100320

  18. "A preliminary investigation by the Incheon Fire Department revealed that the fire was detected by the receiver momentarily after the vehicle busted into flames at 6:09 a.m., but the pre-action valve, which controls the sprinkler system, was turned off from the apartment management office. The sprinkler system will not activate despite receiving a fire alarm if the valve is deactivated. 23. I would have thought a simple wear detector would be just one wire which detected a return to earth when reached. So two wires suggests one of them is to detect the feature is present? Sensors are usually in the new pads i have not experienced putting sensors from old pads in the new ones
