Concerning the auto clutch on DSG models...
I would expect so, i wouldn't expect the car to be driven at max Torque all the time. Maybe time will tell when the ones that fail are analyzed by how they were driven

the truth about electric cars
Is that not similar to how Tesla charging works albeit to the Tesla account. Lee's video the other day featured a man who said he can even charge his Tesla with nothing in his account.

the truth about electric cars
Councils should not be providing "Free" charging to anyone except employees driving Council vehicles in the course of their work to reduce Council costs. The benefit should be for all Council tax payers, it's their money. They should set charges to cover the cost of supply and maintenance of the equipment. "Free" is a myth.

the truth about electric cars
It's strange that fuel pumps have to be accurate within - 0.5 and 1% but we are expected to accept losses of 15% in ev charging They always use the same mantra " " you are saving that much against fossil fuel prices that it doesn't matter"

the truth about electric cars
I think @J.R. is talking about the wiring to the point that the car plugs into, not from there to the car. It would need to be 7KW . 32 amp capable. 11 kw would require 3 phase electric supply in the uk not sure about France regs.

Concerning the auto clutch on DSG models...
I think the volkswagen R is a DQ381 wet clutch, so the Clutch slipping action is not as grave as doing it with the dry clutch version. When coming to stop in my car if i am stopping for seconds i will just use the footbrake firmly applied. If i think it will be a minute or longer i go for handbrake and N In traffic Queuing i judge the whole queue movement not just the one in front. If they don't move at least car length at a time i will delay following until they do. Avoiding not fully engaging the clutch going forwards. The DSG and DCT semi autonomous gearboxes get most of their bad press from Americans. A country that has used automatics by default for a long time, using a stick shift is unusual. They are used to Torque converter automatics and expected to treat this modern tech the same way. For the most part you can but there are times when circumstance demands driver interaction.

Concerning the auto clutch on DSG models...
On a flat road in a DSG if in D and you take your foot off the brake it will move forwards, gear 1 will be selected and pressure will increase in anticipation of you about to accelerate. You would effectively be riding the clutch. Foot on the brake the system is being told you don't want to move, gear 1 is selected but no torque will be applied to the clutch. I have posted a video on a recent thread about this somewhere. The leaving the car parked but not in P, my car goes mad with warnings if i open the door not in P. (Ford) The Mercedes sprinter DCT i drive won't let the Key out of the ignition unless the vehicles in P

He can only have made the video using Data he has access to and use the same source both times. Also he has limited it to a specific age and mileage. No two used cars have the same value in real life every used car is unique. Maybe data from Buying sites like motorway or webuyanycar I agree with you on the worth, a car is worth what someone will pay for it. The business has always been like that. Some people are savvy and do research for prices for some sales though there will always the customer "there's one born every minute" I don't know how he could access reliable data for the difference between what they paid and what they sold for. My take on the video is " Buyer beware"- the truth about electric cars
I took that to suggest that some EVS have depreciated the same as last year but those in the video have depreciated by the percentages quoted more than last years- Rogue cable in boot area.
The press pack from Jan 21 says £158.33 Opening with the fob is standard- Rogue cable in boot area.

I will never understand the logic of hard acceleration as a cure for DPF clearing. That action emits the most soot. Forcing the car to rev its nuts off will also add soot load The system normally just needs to be at operating temp for long enough for the process to start, run through, and finish. Driving on a motorway at a constant speed 50-70mile an hour should make the system clean if it doesn't the system needs checking over- Rogue cable in boot area.
