  1. Talking to the supplying dealer/or the one that is doing the maintenance on Motability's behalf, about a price wouldn't hurt. You know the car you have and for them it would be a quick flip so might be an excellent deal that will be possibly less than what they would sell the car for to someone else.
  2. DIY servicing and relying on the MOT inspection would alter your comparison figures Only doing the cabin filter and not the recommended schedule and only using home charging cost significantly changes the outcome. And only works if the car never leaves an area within range of home and return. One car would have full service history the other would be listed with none on resale. Not a like for like comparison My figure for the value of the fuel was to show many will never recoup the extra cost of the EV vehicle. The Octavia Boot with seats up is bigger than the Karoq when i looked and the Tesla model y long range was the car you quoted (talking of range) which initiated my post so there was no need to change the cars to bring the ev costs down further. At the moment the Tesla Y LR is probably the only car that could meet my requirements, but it is too expensive and i actually don't like the way it looks, the limited colour choice and it's build quality.
  3. Do all Tesla owners believe that this https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/service/annual_service_inspection_checklist_en_eu.pdf Is totally unnecessary and a waste of time? Will they wait for the MOT system to address the issues that may arise? You have successfully put me off buying a second hand one if that is the majority view. Brake discs and suspension/steering parts that never wear? Brake fluid that lasts forever?
  4. My dashcam is on the RH side of the mirror behind the sunvisor
  5. £27,870 18,742 litres 202,600miles
  6. My latest fill up 2.0l Diesel 294.3 miles 27.22litres £40.48
  7. The gear change should be smooth with no delay most of the time.
  8. In my experience hesitation in the dsg changes can be due to driving style. If it works fine in manual mode, maybe it's due to how you use the accelerator. In D or S the TCM makes it's decisions on what it thinks the next gear will be needed. If you are accelerating the TCM will prepare the next up gear for selection, If you ease off it will prepare the next gear down. If you change your mind and go for power again there will be a small delay as it switches from the one below to the one above. E,g Coming up behind a car going slower you ease off, then decide to accelerate around it before the downshift happened.

  10. It is not a problem limited to VAG vehicles the problems are universal, all dual clutch transmissions can have problems. Some appear better than others? But is that just down to volume of sales and or servicing regimes? Brand attitude/reactions to the problems? only time will tell. https://www.allthingsmotoringinternational.com/articles/should-you-fear-the-dual-clutch-gearbox
  11. Probably the most relevant post for you on that thread
  12. Are you just trying to pull it out, or do you push it in first? There is mention of a brass clip in this thread
  13. Parking sensors in my car give a continuous beep at around 28-30cm i can get a lot closer with the camera. It also enables me to see the towball to reverse under the Caravan hitch,
  14. I was thinking of the comment "Pulled over and I have lost coolant from the expansion tank, barely any in it and it's clearly been ejecting it from the overflow. Topped up with water and nursed it to overnight hotel." A weak cap can stop the pressure being maintained and allow overflow OP not responded since Saturday so it must be sorted?
  15. I think fully charging a Tesla on a 13amp plug would take longer than a day. So maybe the low current makes comms redundant the car can probably ignore it when the battery is full
  16. I will assume this is a response to the caravan plug type adapter ev connector, I was wondering where i could find a Socket to plug the car into or a cable that could allow charging at 7kw from standard house wiring without a wallbox if i decided to make one myself. that was the nearest thing i could locate other than the podpoint type arrangement in the previous pdf posted. I cannot find a wallbox that doesn't describe itself as a charger so i am confused about what does what. I don't know how it works in France but in the UK 7kw charging at home has to be "smart" capable going off all the info i have read so far. So the wallboxes are a bit more involved than just supplying the Amps.
  17. I too don't see the need for Snow/winter tyres in Greater Manchester/Lancashire. I can probably count the number of times i have been stuck in Snow in over forty years on half of one Hand. But if i lived in Scotland or elsewhere in Europe i may see the need.
