Trailer lights gone out
Dashboard fusebox fuse 28,38 and 44 are those the ones missing. https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Superb_3V/11-2015/OwnersManual.pdf If it's an aftermarket towbar could there be a relay box in the boot that supplies the power to lamps when activated,, maybe a fuse there?

Trailer lights gone out
the plug on the trailer wires are subject to movement and the weather, oxidation . a couple of times i have had to re-do the connections in the plug on my caravan for one wire or another for individual lamps, but the earth wires would stop the lot.

2014 Skoda Superb estate L&K 4x4 DSG TDI 170 BHP - sold on online auction platform
it's a absolutely beautiful car and the price you have set does not sound unreasonable when looking at autotraders offers (£7,200 - £11,500) with different mileages. You are probably in the same boat as me i have a low mileage 14 plate car with a dual clutch automatic and they have two significant problems with selling. The DSG and Euro 5 diesel everyone is wary and the dealers will rob you blind. I am slowly coming to the decision that my car is worth more to me than what i can sell it for and unless i was buying new i could be buying someone else's problems on the 3 to 4 yo market. If it was my car i would keep it, with all that specification what are you gaining by changing? But good luck if you are committed to selling it, but it may be a struggle for a private seller to find a buyer at the price you want being unable to offer finance options etc. I hope i am wrong. P.S (i would add a picture of the dashboard dials with the engine running, some will find it suspicious by it's absence )

I just thought it used the 12v permanent feed because if my caravan is unplugged with the car locked, the car alarm goes off

Superb estate L&K mk3 DCC towing
Just trying to establish how my car knows to disable the parking sensors and rear fog lights when the caravan is attached. No idea what happens with a small trailer or toy rack because i have never tried. I thought ESC was a mandatory thing since 2014 in the EU. I think the marketing about needing dedicated wiring for it to work with the caravan attached is sales spin, it should work regardless. The 12v will not reduce the temp of the fridge but it should keep it cool if pre-cooled unless you keep opening the door.

An additional 13k per quarter would not be an unreasonable guesstimate. Or the article could have seen those figures and rounded it up?

100 acre is reported to produce 0.02gw and the Government suggest 20gw is possible, that appears to work out to 100,000 acres which is 75,600 football pitches, so i imagine we will see a lot more around the Country

the truth about electric cars
It is interesting how the story says "How the UK generates electricity" a subtle twist or spin in the headings. We import from Denmark for some wind "A quarterly record was also set for offshore wind generation in the last three months of 2023, which was “largely driven by the 0.8 GW in new capacity,” "Construction on Viking Link, National Grid’s sixth interconnector, commenced in 2019, involving more than four million working hours. Initially operating at 800MW capacity, it will gradually scale up to its full 1.4GW potential over the coming months." https://www.energylivenews.com/2024/01/02/national-grid-activates-worlds-longest-land-and-subsea-interconnector/ Nuclear also comes from France It is fantastic to be able to have renewable energy but for the story to claim that we generate it ourselves in the bits people will quote is mis-leading. The UK uses more energy from renewables than fossil fuel "National Grid is already looking ahead, having announced joint plans with TenneT for a new 1.8GW interconnector named LionLink between the UK and The Netherlands. This second link between the countries is anticipated to be operational in the early 2030s."

ULEZ and other similar schemes we are being told are all about clean air for everybody but are they really just a means of making money from motorists?
Glasgow's lez zone is minuscule compared to London's and residents within that zone where given 2 years to comply

Whilst i don't have a problem with ulez zones in principal, people outside of an ulez zone have a choice whether to continue giving the businesses in them their custom and if they do wish to enter they could use public transport. But i don't think it reasonable to expect every existing resident in the zone to be able to instantly comply so vehicles registered to an address within the zone at the time of implementation should have been exempt. It would have been easy to do with the rules also stating that a subsequent non-compliant car could not be added.

Speedometer Accuracy
I agree with your logic. Also even bends will make them slightly inaccurate according to some reports. ( i might check this driving round a roundabout 😂 ) if the system only places you to a point within 10metres, as you move you would be sort of jumping about a bit and it needs more than one satellite to find your position. So cannot be 100%. I rely on my speedometer and try to not go more than 10% above the speed limit.

The ulez permission is based on Nox not co2 The nox level for diesel and petrol are the same at 0.08g/km Euro 4 met it for petrol Euro 6 reached it for diesel Euro 5 diesel limit was 0.18g/km

The Nissan xtrail does not use the engine to move the car on that model.

On a sort of related note, Today i was behind a Brand new Nissan xtrail Eforce and Epower all-wheel drive, the dual-motor e4orce version can get returns of up to 43.8mpg. Emissions are increased over the front-wheel drive model, at up to 148g/km with the third row of seats. Stopped at the lights engine stayed running!
