  1. If only there was a way to store the excess until it was needed. The energy companies and government will encourage the public to invest in Batteries because it's too expensive for the energy companies to do it without hitting profits and shareholder payments
  2. will the cheaper overnight tariffs be sustainable in the future? At the moment they exist because of perceived "Low demand" will the energy companies still have low demand when millions of ev's are plugged in on 7kw chargers overnight? I can see it all ending in tears and mis-selling law suits
  3. I think the smart meter and comms regulations are so the energy companies will be able to throttle the supply to your house in the event of high network demand. You will plug your car in at night inputting when you need to use it next, any charge already in it can then be used by the network to charge other cars connected and recharged up for when you want, the energy companies will be hoping people plug in every night regardless of use to have a full battery everyday. It's the future😉
  4. On the subject of tyre repair I went to a local place who found the puncture because the nail/screw was still there. Without removing the tyre he used Luckily i saw it happen. He did only ask for £5 but i asked him to do it properly like he is supposed to with something like He said "but that's £12" I said i would rather you comply with the your duty of care and remove the tyre for inspection before you repair it properly. He did but i will not go back there. The plugs in the first kit are an emergency get you home product if you get a puncture the tyre should be checked over by removal,
  5. A tyre can only be repaired if the puncture is in the middle 70% of the tyre. don't see why a self sealing tyre would have different regulations. it is recommended to get them checked if you find a nail or object in them even though they also say you can continue to drive i think that is just a get you home feature, not a you can keep driving till the tyre breaks down policy.
  6. That's what i thought i said A car built before June 2023 would be a 2022/11 spec
  7. When did you order it? After a quick dig production change dates So it appears 2022/11 would apply to your car https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Skoda-Kamiq-2023-UK.pdf No mention of the feature that i can see
  8. Unfortunately if that has gone through you will need a new tyre, you need to get it checked asap
  9. In the 2022 brochure there is no mention of it at all that i can see https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Skoda-Kamiq-2022-UK.pdf It states standard equipment in the 2023 brochure https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Skoda-Kamiq-2023-UK.pdf if your car is a "registered" may 2023 not built in 2023 it is possible it's a late 2022 model build? Also not sure if the facelift was August 23 before announcing the new 2024 version.
  10. 8 mile an hour was the charging rate. You are free to use the 2kw in 8 minutes on the motorway
  11. Is 2kw equal to around 8mile an hour?
  12. I think i have read that the maximum amperage for single phase household electricity supply is 100 amps but that would be for the whole house An electric shower can now be 40amp, so if you had a 7kw wall point for the car 32 amp. There is talk of banning gas for heating A heat pump can need up to 14kw (65amp?) and if they do that for cooking? we are up to a potential 140amp just for three events. What effect i wonder is this going to have for the national grid in planning future supply to an estate of 100 houses Converting a house to three phase electricity would cost at least £3,000
  13. Heated cup holders
  14. Did you buy the car new? I would suggest to others looking at buying a DSg second hand that when driving the car before purchase . The only indication of the car changing gear should be engine tone and rev counter changes if you noticeable "feel" it, walk away.
  15. Rover P6 3.5 litre weighed 1,298 kg
  16. A Phev is not the ideal solution if you do 160-200 miles a day. They are aimed at people with shorter commutes and occasional long trips.
  17. Next to the triangle looks like a first aid kit, good thing to have in a car but most people forget that there are use by dates on the contents.
  18. Well spotted https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274598500722?_ul=GB
  19. I had a Rover SD1 in the early 80s 3.5 litre V8 luckily the price of a Gallon was less than the price of a litre nowadays. about 10-12mpg round town Another development has been output.. that V8 produced only 153hp but funnily enough the car weighed less than many cars today for what was a big car think it was less than 1400kg
  20. My sincere apologies for not finding out before today.
