  2. What is this "London" you talk of? I am 64 and have never found the need or desire to go 😂
  3. Not exactly the most efficient use of Hydrogen but i suppose good for use in remote areas like "north Yorkshire 😂" ? I expect in reality it's for training in use of the equipment for operations abroad. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-68383322 https://www.idealhy.eu/index.php?page=lh2_outline
  4. I am not Jeremy Clarkson but i like to maintain momentum going up a hill
  5. Handbooks are normally Model year specific, not trim, so have all available options that could be fitted to the car.
  6. Those watching the ice need to also watch the solar minimums and maximums Is this why 2030 was decided to reduce CO2 by to stop the temp going up by another degree. "This discovery of double dynamo action in the Sun brought us a timely warning about the upcoming grand solar minimum 1, when solar magnetic field and its magnetic activity will be reduced by 70%. This period has started in the Sun in 2020 and will last until 2053. During this modern grand minimum, one would expect to see a reduction of the average terrestrial temperature by up to 1.0°C, especially, during the periods of solar minima between the cycles 25–26 and 26–27, e.g. in the decade 2031–2043." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7575229/ But what this has to do with buying an EV or not i am not so sure. I will buy one when i can afford it and it meets my needs.
  7. All depends upon how you label the Axis? There are reasons why these topics come up in our Winter. To make people fear because the ice is melting whilst we are cold.
  8. Well it is Summer in the antarctic. The recovery in Winter (September) is showing reductions are pretty flat? Overall, the long-term trend in Antarctic sea ice is nearly flat. (in contrast, the glaciers and ice sheets over land in Antarctica are losing mass.) The satellite record spans more than four decades, and although the ice has shown increasing and decreasing trends over portions of that record, few of those trends have been statistically significant. Year-to-year variability has dominated, especially over the last decade. Since the year 2013, Antarctic sea ice has exhibited its highest and lowest extents in the entire record—the highest-ever winter maximum occurred in September 2014, and the lowest-ever summer minimum was in February 2023. But the overall trend, as of early 2023, is close to zero. https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/understanding-climate-antarctic-sea-ice-extent
  9. I have not done with a modern Car with an engine less than a 2litre diesel. Did it a couple of times (once on each) with 1980s/90s 1600cc petrols and would never try it again. Thought if you had i could be reassured.
  10. Have you ever towed through Looe in Cornwall or round the bend up hill coming out of Teignmouth in Devon?
  11. Quite possible the info goes off to the marketing dept to produce the blurb and then no-one proof reads the resulting material?
  12. The previous corsa was a 50kw battery too but they claimed 100kw power? Now the 50kw claims 81kw with the 51kw battery producing 115kw but uses less kwh/km than the smaller battery. I have no idea how it works.
  13. Same calculations that Skoda use for the Enyaq with 82kw producing 210kw? but the VRS is 82kw producing 250kw
  14. It's a strange One because in the Blurb they quote the power output of the bigger Corsa and the mileage of the lower powered one https://www.vauxhall.co.uk/cars/new-corsa/yes-edition.html "The new Corsa YES Edition Electric offers a fun driving experience. Its fully electric 136PS powertrain develops 260 Nm of torque, meaning its fast off the line whilst having no gears to shift, and best of all, driving with zero emissions. The next-gen battery allows you to drive up to 221 miles* on a single charge, and when needed can be fast-charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes* using a DC charger at your local Tesco with free charging credit provided^, making Corsa YES Edition your perfect partner for all trips; both long or short." 15. Thanks. It is possible that the removal and replacement of the battery corrupted something in the Radio system. The design intention according to the instruction book is that if the ignition is turned off, you get the message and the radio shuts down. But you should then be able to turn the radio back on for 1 hr intervals. I read in one of your replies that someone suggested doing a Factory reset? That "may" be the solution but make sure you have any codes that may be needed and remove any media that may be attached. You will also have to retune and pair phone again. https://ownersmanuals.blob.core.windows.net/ownersmanuals/en/Octavia_1Z/11-2012/OwnersManual.pdf
  16. This may be a silly question but what happens if you turn it on again with the ignition off? Does it immediately shut down again?
  17. Isn't the offer on existing stock new cars and not Really new cars that you order? So i would imagine they are already registered. The offer being available to shift them?
  18. According to Motorpoints info "At the top of the range, the Octavia vRS looks to be petrol-only now – previously there were diesel and hybrid options, too. What's more, the vRS' 2.0-litre petrol engine has been boosted by 20hp to 265hp, so it should be quicker off the line. Enthusiasts may mourn the loss of the manual gearbox, though. Later on, you'll also be able to buy an Octavia with a 204hp 2.0-litre petrol engine, which'll get an auto gearbox and four-wheel drive. It'll be the only Octavia you can buy with four-wheel drive." https://www.motorpoint.co.uk/car-news/skoda-octavia-facelift
  19. The new one is not configurable or available to order yet https://www.carwow.co.uk/skoda/octavia/news/7399/new-skoda-octavia-facelift-2024
  20. In the UK brochure the only 4x4 vrs is a diesel dsg? And the ** means only available from stock? So not yet?
  21. There was a special offer when the new model was announced, which one has he got?
  22. Maybe an idea to ring and check, but the current brochure says yes
  23. Does a mk 2 fabia 2011 have drls?
  24. The ban on rear privacy glass is under review in Manchester at the moment so it's probably as well to hang on? The 10 year rule for existing PH holders is also 1st April 2026
