  1. Surely it will work both ways, if the Manufacturer want rid of over production they can discount without affecting the Dealers money. Who gave the discount on those Vauxhalls that were discounted by £10,000 last year, when the new Corsa came out?
  2. I know only just over a third of new car buyers want to own their car, the rest are happy to pay for someone else's. But it's mainly those on a full lease deal/ personal contract hire that don't have to pay the VED from year 2. Those on hp and pcp generally do. Now that manufacturing is pretty much back up to scale the PCP GFV's are going to be reduced and I can see them becoming less attractive.
  3. In the UK the model y was 8th in February and didn't feature in the top 10 to date
  4. It's usually New models that attract sales from Brand customers, Customers will hang onto them longer thus reducing the sales. For Musk to change it too much would involve re-investment into tooling which I think he will avoid as long as he can get away with it. His "new" customer sales are bound to plateau as more electric vehicles become available as they catch up with his technology. In this Country the VED introduction ,especially the over £40,000 rate, is going to do a lot of damage to sales also to BEVs. Those that do buy may be resistant to keep paying it by replacing their car every 3 years. keep it for 7 and you start saving £7.59 a week, that could charge it up (at home) for free every week.
  5. A problem for Tesla is going to be that the designs are now starting to look dated, very minimal changes since 2012?
  6. Shows space taken up by a lift/hoist https://www.motability.co.uk/whats-available/adaptations/store/
  7. Could be the reverse, They could be failing to get work, when an advisory was suitable?
  8. That is the site that motability link to
  9. I still think if booked in for a mot and service on the same day it makes sense to MOT first then service. I also agree with you that in your case if you specifically said "can you change my Wiper blades first", they should have done. The only problem i can think of is that the Mechanic and the Mot Tester at the Garage are not necessarily the same person. There is no such thing as a two minute job in a garage. Taking the mechanic off a job to change wipers , giving it the MOT tester to test then passing it back again to service is inefficient if it fails on other things. What if the mechanic went the whole hog and serviced it then gave it the tester and he failed it. How would you feel if the mechanic serviced the car rang you to authorise Brakes and and discs etc, you agree to a bigger bill to do that work. Then the tester fails it on Emissions?
  10. Mine was an "F" reg
  11. Enjoy it whilst you can There is no such thing as "free"
  12. It is good whilst the "Free" and reduced home charging tariffs exist. My suspicion of the way this is going to go in the future is backed up by the changes made to feed in tariffs etc for solar panel users and the "benefits" have slowly been eroded over time. Once everyone is hooked in it will be too late. I confess to be a 64 yo cynic. Nothing is ever done by governments that isn't designed to help big business and the select few as the goal.
  13. Maybe it was the 5 neighbours objecting to him taking away the Communal space that was the problem?
  14. Does your scooter have to go in whole or does it come apart? Which model is it. A hoist in the boot to lift a scooter takes up a significant amount of space. We have a mobility scooter and are currently looking for a car that may replace it and apart from Ford smax and Citroen c4 grand space tourers, (Both no longer made) i can find nothing with a longer boot than a superb estate. (Distance to back seats when up) Sister in law got a Peugeot 5008 with a hoist and it negated one of the seven seats and the distance to back seats (5 up) was smaller than the superb estate. The mobility site has links to the Car database for showing Lengths and widths of boots which you can use to establish which cars will have the dimensions you want. The litres given in car guides is useless because sometimes a lot of the space is above when you really need it on the base with a scooter.
  15. The MOT may have highlighted something else. MOT then service seems a good idea?
  16. "£9.84 for only 54 miles driven." It's the future. Imagine when they have no competition
  17. I think the air con components are between the Heater matrix and the blower system and that has the ability to adjust temperature to either side.
  18. Can someone highlight the chargers in the pictures? Where the car is parked on the "drive", would he not have to leave through the bins?
  19. It is a ridiculous expectation that you can drive across a pavement to park in your garden. You have to apply to the council to drop the pavement Without the dropped kerb there would be no way of preventing people parking parallel to the kerb and blocking him in.
  20. There may be more to the driveway story than meets the eye. Google maps shows that property in 2022 with a disabled bay outside and no dropped kerb to access the property. Attempts to circumvent planning regulations should always be resisted.
  21. Just done a bit more digging and apparantley if the sensors are faulty it should show up in the vcds. I think they are behind little grills either side of the dashboard but one is difficult to access . I was thinking you could swap them round to see if the problem moved. But then i discovered this which appears to cover all VAG cars People in the comments section of this video say this cured the problem you describe? Similar thread
  22. If it has dual zone air con could it not be the temp sensor on the drivers side?
  23. A Dog should not be loose in a Car
