  1. Nice as your car surely is mate, swapping it for a vRS will never be a bad idea!
  2. +1 At £850 a year I don't have much choice.
  3. I've had mine to 0 miles before now, haha! My fuel light comes on with about 65-70 miles to go and I generally fill it up soon afterwards. The low fuel light comes on when you have about 7 litres of fuel left in the tank so if you're only getting 10-15 miles from 7 litres of fuel then I'd say something is wrong. As for your trip computer showing you 41MPG - I'd say that's pretty poor even for runs around town. We all know the MPG computer isn't that accurate, most people on here get about 45-46MPG (that's about 10 miles from a litre of fuel). Anything drastically less than that and something is wrong. Check and change filters as a starting point. When was the car serviced last?
  4. Because, 7 year warranty or not, you have taste!
  5. Mine needs doing, got 700 miles till next service going to get it done then - this could be expensive!
  6. Awesome! OP - welcome to the site. As others have said - ensure FSH and you should be fine apart from normal wear and tear.
  7. They're about £12 I think - if in doubt change it. http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Fabia_1.9_2003/b/OEM/p/Car-Parts/Engine-Parts/filters/air-filters
  8. Bought mine 2 and a half years ago for 9,995 with 27,000 miles on the clock. The SE rarity factor means you're always going to pay more but I'd say 8,995 is pretty steep.
  9. Believe it or not Skoda recommend changing the air filter every 40,000 miles!
  10. You might find that you need to change your air filter mate - when I first purchased my SE I was getting around 350 miles from a tank - Skoda recommend changing the air filter every 40k miles - I (and pretty much everyone else on here) recommend every 10k. Simply by changing the filter my MPG rose drastically. I get around 450 miles to a tank when I brim it from full and if I use the expansion tank and drive carefully I can get up to 600 miles from a tank!
  11. Found it. Some posts in here might help. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/203799-electronic-boot-release-failure/
  12. I found some info on this a while back - will try to find the thread.
  13. They are already through the roof! It has cost me nearly £900 to insure my vRS this year - I love my car but I'm getting to the point where I'm wondering if it's worth keeping.
  14. Any idiot who boasts about "hitting 139mph", :wonder: racing a vxr and then posts photos of his ruined Fabia following a crash gets no sympathy from me. And yes, I know you were driving at 50-60 when the crash occurred but as far as I'm concerned, your loss is every sensible drivers' gain. Let's just hope you have learned a lesson. You're lucky you're not dead.
  15. Nice photos - I got a Canon 500D myself. How did you get the light effects on the last few photos? Is it your mate messing with a torch or something?
  16. £60 gets me about 500 miles. OP - dealers will certainly transport cars between themselves yes.
  17. E-mailed em 4 days ago no reply yet.
  18. If you've reported this to the police Bob then they will surely look into it? I work as a Merseyside bobby and, if I'm honest, traffic files aren't the most stimulating things in the world to complete, but you have a clear case of another driver failing to stop following a collision here plus a witness (who I assume is willing to provide a statement?) so if you don't get any joy then I'd make a complaint at your local station. Best of luck getting it resolved.
  19. Which? magazine did a comprehensive test on a number of the numerous fuel additives out there probably about a year ago now - the results showed that none of the additives make enough of a difference to justify shelling out the high price for them in terms of better fuel economy and Millers was the only one that showed a very slight BHP gain due to it raising the cetane levels in diesel. If it makes you happy then use it - as some have previously stated it appears to make some cars run a bit quieter, but it won't make much difference to power or economy.
  20. Looks awesome, really need to clean mine!
  21. I'm not surprised you were getting headaches - petrol is pretty volatile and can cause all kinds of respiratory problems and even brain damage if inhaled over prolonged periods. Good news is that the smell in your car will evaporate over time. You need to vent the car as much as possible though - at this time of year with the warm weather it should be easier than if it was cold and damp. If you have a garage leave the boot and windows open, you need the air circulating through the car. Drive with all the windows open. If you park in a secure car park at work, again try leaving a window or two open.
