  1. Just searching for something similar a few days ago: In the karoq section of this forum theres a gearbox manual that also covers some other models- same gearboxes used- including various diesel engined Superbs 2015- The details are in there for filling with a special tool , or via a funnel/ tube through an alternative route- after removing specific bolt/ fittings along with the volumes required. (p.s. a manual covering some recent Superb engines, including likes of recent DSRA /B motors are in the Kodiac section.)
  2. Hi Stonechip, not at all: Main and dipped beam are LED, daylights along the bottom of that unit are also LED ( white only). Then the little triangle section below for the indicator contains a separate orange bulb ( Philips PWY24W). At the rear its LED tail and brake with simple PY21W bulbs for the indicators.
  3. My 2020 superb SE estate (factory build Jan 2020) has standard LED headlights - but interestingly, halogen indicator bulbs.
  4. strseq, “am guessing it's the coil, Can a crack in the coil rubberboot do this?” yes, - if the crack in the coil rubber boot is in a position that allows the spark (or even the voltage feed to the coil) to earth out on the cylinder head instead of travelling down the spark plug and igniting the mixture - it would cause a misfire. And such misfires often occur only at certain engine revs / load combinations rather than constantly. Your mechanic’s insulating tape seem to confirm.
  5. Danoid, to put your mind at rest, my wiper is sitting 3.5 to 4 inches above the scuttle while parked, even higher than yours. however the darkened shaded part of the (original) lower screen extends 5 - 6 inches up from the base so still hides the wiper from inside when parked up. dont think your blade is parking any higher than it should, but, maybe, the darkened portion of the lower new windscreen doesnt extend as far up so your wiper is visible??
  6. PS. Cant spell too well using phone keyboard! Correction : Northumberland thanks and apologies!
  7. Hello to all and especially those knowledgable folks on here posting advice and experience. Joined the forum at last after 4 years watching and learning! Skoda Superb 2.0 diesel manual with a few useful to me options: rough road pack, heated screen, factory towbar, actual spare wheel, (5 year warranty as a precaution), etc. ordered new build 4 years ago and delivered less than 2 weeks before the first lockdown March 2020. Bought mainly for the space, fuel economy on long runs, and comfort. Happy with it against those aims. Still got old forester and wifes impreza so Superb diesel so far reserved for long regular runs especially to SW Scotland. Great info from the forum for dog guards, mudflap fitting etc. - Thanks. Also managed to get a couple of bargain original wheels 4 yrs ago for fitting Nokian winter tyres. Only real disappointment ( apart from shuggy boat like ride on country lanes and getting thrown off line by any small bump when gently cornering) with the car was both front and rear discs badly corroded and surface gone, needing replacement after only 3 years/ 21k miles. Prompt to buy a foxwell diagnostic scanner and fit brembo discs and pads myself rather than dealer prices for “same as new” OE replacements. I expect to keep this car a good few years and look after routine servicing myself when warranty has ended. Might be starting to ask at some point soon where to watch out for rust typically developing long term with a view to prevention and longevity? cheers.
  8. Cant wind back against the electric motor with a piston pushback / winder tool, but neither do you need VCDS. A good diagnostic tool like this one (that I bought and used) is ideal: https://m.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT530VAG.html
