  1. A couple of ideas: Are you using one of the 2 USB C sockets in front of the gear selector? If you copy a song onto the root of the SD card can you play it? This will determine if the infotainment system can read the SD card.
  2. A USB memory stick and a USB drive work in different ways. You need to use a memory stick for this update. USB disks have a higher power requirement than USB memory sticks so there might not have been sufficient power. You can test this by copying some music onto the root of the USB drive and seeing if it can be played.
  3. As noted a long press of the fob buttons can open or close the windows. This can be disabled in the infotainment screen on the vehicle settings exterior screen.
  4. I totally agree with the advice to update the infotainment software version. When I bought my PHEV it had software 1806 and problems with logging in and the navigation. These disappeared when I updated the software. Your maps are dated July 2019. You can download newer maps FOC from the Skoda sit. Free maps are issued 6 monthly. You need the navigation subscription to get monthly map updates and live traffic information.
  5. You need to update the software from 1803 to at least 1941. There are instructions on this board for doing this, or it needs to be done by a dealer. If it was an official used Skoda insist that the dealer does this FOC as part of the promised upgrade of all software. Once it is on 1941 it will update to 1985 OTA. Once you are on the latest software smart link should work. I had to insist that the dealer applied the software update to get navigation to work correctly. I never even got to try smart link on the older software.
  6. What is the infotainment software version? If it is below 1941 jt should be updated. I have a 2021 PHEV and Smartlink supports android auto by cable.
  7. My Octavia had this version and would not remember the sat nave settings. Upgrading the software fixed it. If this was bought as an official used Skoda the dealer should have updated it but they may need a little persuasion.
  8. I had a similar response. The salesman told me that the workshop had told him that everything was up to date. After sending him a picture of the infotainment system screen and reminding him about the final picture in the approved used Skoda picture set (the picture showing the benefits of buying an official used Skoda), I received a reply that said my information was very useful and when could I bring the car in for the upgrade. At the time 1941 was the latest version. I have since had an OTA upgrade to 1985.
  9. If it was an approved used Skoda from a dealer then they should upgrade all software to the latest version before sale.
  10. Navigation software did not work correctly on my 2021 car with out of date software I insisted that the dealer upgraded the software to version 1941 and then it worked consistently. If you bought the car from a Skoda dealer as an official used Skoda then the dealer should have upgraded to the latest version, so take it back and insist they do it.
  11. If you purchased it as an approved Skoda used car then all software updates should have been applied. Insist the dealer does this and point him to the Skoda used car advertising. I had to do this with my 2021 car to get an update to 1941. Since then it has updated to 1985 OTA.
  12. Another option would be a short right angle USB extension. It would only protrude slightly and the USB stick could lie in the tray.
  13. No. On my 71 plate it is switched with the ignition. I have a dashcam using it.
  14. Infotainment version 1896 needs updating. The maps should be updated but it is very easy to do this yourself. They are available on the web site, you copy them to a USB stick and the update happens while you drive.
  15. If it is an official used Skoda then it should all be up to date. Check the infotainment version which should be 1985. If it is before 1941 insist the dealer updates it. If it is 1941 or 1969 either wait for the OTS update or insist it is updated. The dealer will ask you to wait for the OTA upgrade. I bought a 2021 plate PHV a year ago and had to insist on the upgrade.
  16. Most of the software issues have now been ironed out. Version 1941 of the infotainment system was the first stable version. The current version is 1985. You can find the version from Menu, page 2, 'Cogs', system information. If you buy from a Skoda dealer then they should have applied all software update. In particular the infotanment should have been updated to version 1985. If it has not and they say it will update over the air insist that they perform the update. If buying elsewhere check the infotainment version. If it 1941 or later it should update to 1985 over the air. Otherwise there are threads on this forum about updating it.
  17. Here is the thread: The downloadable maps are every 6 months (June and December) and can be downloaded about 3 months later. So not quite as uptodate as having a subscription.
  18. I do not use any Skoda subscriptions. Navigation works on the stored maps. I do not get live traffic data or map updates. I can download 6 monthly map updates to a memory stick and use that to update the maps.
  19. Good point. As he says it is in the first year he should be able to take over the remainder of the free 12 months.
  20. Connectivity: The car has data connectivity that it / Skoda use. You can subscribe to a data plan that will allow the car to operate a WiFi hot spot for mobiles / tablets. The infotainment system will not connect directly to Spotify. As a new car it includes a 12 month subscription to Skoda Connect giving you access from your mobile to data on the car and the ability to operate some functions remotely. You also get a 12 month subscription to Infotainment online which includes map updates and real time traffic information. Both of the above operate without needing a data plan.
  21. I suspect it was used at the factory / dealer to identify the bunch of keys when they were stored away from the vehicle.
  22. That is at the bottom of the cup holder. If the battery was very weak it might have been detected that close to the cup holder. The instructions on unlocking the car when the battery is dead tell you to put the key in the cup holder to start the engine.
  23. Mine does it when approaching most speed limits and roundabouts.
  24. That should be fine although I would set the departure time to 5:15. You can see from the lights on the charger when it stops charging
  25. If you set a departure time then the car will charge and be ready at that time. It also takes around 6 hours to charge from a 10A supply. If you set delayed charging then when you plug it in the car will immediately charge to a stated minimum and then wait till departure time - estimated charge time before starting to charge. I would set the minimum level to a low number (in eManager settings) and then activate delayed charging with a departure time of 5:15 (I find it takes slightly longer to charge than it calculates). My PHEV came with a type 2 cable and a 13A to type 2 cable which is the one I use.
