Spec on 70 plate Karoq
The problem with TLA's is that it depends on context. The same three letters can mean very different things, depending on the field or industry. Sometimes within different parts of the same industry. I have seen this cause confusion. Also Fab is an abbreviation not a TLA and anyway TLA has multiple definitions. In this case, Three Letter Acronym. It doesn't help that I am dyslexic and spill chuckers can give the wrong answers.

Replacing front "Skoda" badge
I am not keen on Chrome, and I have an SE L 🙂 I do prefer the black of the Sport line but I am not fanatical about it. I prefer the logo in the post above that is black on red. Rather than chrome on black. So thinking of going for the set from Kopacek and change the chrome letters on the back to black.

Spec on 70 plate Karoq
FAB Fabrication plant. These are enormous clean room plants for growing the silicon wafers. (Start video at 8:50) They produce "chips" in particular MCU or Micro Controller Units. Which are not quite the same as a CPU or Central Processing Unit on a PC Technically the processors on the M1 Mac are MCUs not CPUs The other one is GPU or Graphics Processing Unit which is a specialist MCU/CPU similar to a DSP (Digital Signal Processing Unit) The shortage was due to flooding in several major fabs in Asia, far bigger than the one in the video, due to freak weather. It took a couple of years to rectify. Then you had the backlog of supply to get through. This was just getting back online when COVID hit. As you will see in the video, they are huge clean rooms where the few people wear full suite, masks, hair covers, eye protection as normal working procedures. These places have filtered forced air and are cleaner than any hospital operating theatre. Also, as staff don't tend to work closely with other people, they were not really affected by COVID. When COVID hit, I think they kept shifts in isolated dorms rather than going home. The electronics production for PCBs (the circuit boards) is 99% automated, once the chips came back online there was little problem with production during COVID. Vehicle production was affected. Whist much is automated final assembly does require people in close proximity, The problem was the chip shortage and COVID overlapped a bit. So you had cars held up with the chip shortages, though some of the problems were due to politics (commercial, not government) in the industry. Then COVID. At the time, I was a member of this https://aesin.org.uk/ as I did embedded critical systems. So I saw it from the inside, talking to the Tier 1's and the supply chain. I retired in 2023 closing the company

Spec on 70 plate Karoq
The problems with the silicon were not due to COVID but climate change. Several fabs were flooded, at around the same time,in "freak" storms and floods. COVID exacerbated the problems as it started as the MCU problem declined. The thing is it takes 3 years to build and start a Fab. Which is longer than it took to clear up the flooded Fabs, but not by much. As the "freak" weather is becoming more common place, there are steps being taken to mitigate the problems. Yes, Climate change is real, or these silicon manufacturing capitalists would not be spending billions to mitigate the problems caused by it. For about 2 years due to problems with chip supply cars were partially built, sub assemblies made etc and stocked to some extent. Then manufacturing completed as the parts arrived, so old stock would have to be used up first. Meaning, some cars with older spec's had a later Mfr date. This may also depend on the plant the car was built in. Shortages and backlogs were not the same in all of them as the car companies, globally, reorganized to try and keep some plants as close to normal production at the expense of others.in the group.

Check the VIn for year and place of manufacture. BTW does anyone have a way of decoding the last 6 digits? eg 112453

Replacing front "Skoda" badge
That looks good! I have a red Karoq, but the badge is chrome with black background. The black with red background would look better.

LED or Matrix LED? --- please help ID
Mine, in the UK, had the original, and only, registrant on the V5 which was the main dealer. It was their demo car. It was 7 months old and 3K5 miles on the clock. Which is about 115 miles a week.

reversing camera
That would suggest the fault is not with the camera. That works. The problem is the switching in the head unit. What are all the faults? This may point to a failure point that affects multiple things. Rather than the things themselves, IE there is not a fault with the camera but its switching. VAG cars are known for this.

by fixing the fault? I think you are going to have to give a bit more information if you want more specific help.

Boot loading lip – solutions to reduce it?
I don't know about reducing the lip but I do use one of these . https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073H3QRVP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title Didn't bother with the hooks on the cords but the top 3-4 CM is velcro. As I have the double sided boot liner, plastic side up, I tucked the vecro under and it grips on the carpet side. The i can just flip it our when I need it It is not specifically for the Karoq and to be perfect it could to to be 6cm wider.. It does coverr the buper and for the mony it is very good.

That's the problem with wives. 😞 The thing is, you can't see the colour when you are in the car....

Spilt Milk
There must be some drain holes? Find them and flush them with water? Then put an air freshener in there Or get some one to valet the car? There are plenty of places will do a hand wash and valet for £20?

The logo isn't the problem... the wheel is on the wrong side of the car! When the EU comes to it's senses and applies to join the British Empire, we will make you drive on the right side of the road, which is the left side. All clear? 🙂

The colour my wife refers to as "baby diarrhoea!" She is not a fan. 😞 I quite like it. However, due to the wife's veto I have a "velvet" red Karoq which likewise is not to everyone taste.....

LED or Matrix LED? --- please help ID
I have had exactly the same problem on specs. The 2022 SE L, or at least mine has LED lights but NOT Matrix. Also the fog lights are not standard. I looked into the fog lights, and it isn't worth changing them to LED. (it can't be done legally anyway) I think I would prefer the ordinary LED lights that I have, as the Matrix ones are just more to go wrong and more expensive to fix.

Karoq replacement key options?
I would try Dealers both sides of the border, that is RoI and NI. It might make a difference. Also call Å koda Support to see if you can register a Primary User with just one key that will knock out the other one. Also get the app going and do it with a new password for the car. In your part of the world, security is a concern.
-
Karoq replacement key options?
AFAIK there should be NO USERS AT ALL when you get the car. If there are I would suggest deleting them all and restarting a new Primary User. Also get the my Skoda App and set that up with new passwords. Even if you don't wan't to use the app. This is to ensure no one else has access. If the previous owner is still logged in to an app that can see the car they will know where the car is at all times (even if they don't have the missing key) One paranoid thought If you know there is another key out there and haven't cleared all the users and re=registered with new keys what will insurance say if the car gets stolen? Fortunatley I bought a Main Skoda Dealer's demo car with two keys and all the Users zeroed.

Karoq replacement key options?
A "third" key is still £40 from Skoda. However I would never buy a car with keyless entry unless BOTH keys are with the car. At a minimum the dealer should supply a second key as part of the package. Is it possible for a Skoda dealer to look into the car and disable the other, missing, key? It must be registered in the car system so they should be able to de-register it As a minimum get a second key and then change the Primary User. This as I recall needs both keys present to register them to the primary user. This I would hope will remove the previous Primary User and keys, re registering it on the two new keys. One of which will be the same as before and the newly obtained key but it will not re-register the missing key. This advice is worth what you have paid for it. So Phone/email Skoda support UK (or IE)

Here you are, hiec is a bit of a problem format used by phones. I think Samsung also have a glitch in their compliment which doesn't help.

My NC500
Thanks for the information. Interests are history (I edit this https://www.tamworthheritage.org.uk/) whisky (but not mixed with driving 🙂) Fighter jets sounds interesting, I used to work on them, shooting yes, (used to do full bore rifle and pistol and rough shooting until we became a "gun free society" don't get me started!) Photography, though not landscape. I do street, journalism and stuff related to History. As for routes: not fussed on "doing the NC500" as much as seeing Scotland. Other than that, I intend to visit a friend just south of Wick, so completely flexible. I have been to Skye, Harris, Lewis before. The Bridge does take the magic out of Skye a bit, and I can imagine what it does with the tourists. At least the ferry slowed them up a bit. I know about the roads. Not been up there recently, but we get tourists in some parts of the midlands. Stratford, Warwick etc, so I have seen the attempts at Darwin Awards. Also as you point out it is not a leisure park it is a working country with trucks and other business traffic like anywhere else who want to get on. Tourism is not the nice thing it once was. I belong to a club that has been doing it for a while, and it ran an article in the club magazine about how destructive tourism has become globally.

New brochure/pricelist eff 3.1.25
I think that comes with the advanced driver assist package, not the Columbus. You can get it on the Amundsen AFAIK.

Mib3 Map Updates 2024.06
I also get an error message when I put my VIN in and hit download. (this is a Wi11 PC on 23H2, not the latest 24H2 update which is known to cause problems) However, I downloaded a copy of OI_P129_EU_202448_Offline_Update.zip on the 12th December 24 using a link from somewhere on this forum. So it does look like it might be a problem at Škoda’s system.
