  1. I'm not sure if the Octavia has this feature but I seem to remember some other VAG cars being able to stop at a certain height due to low ceilings etc. Maybe worth checking?
  2. That's some grief that you've had!
  3. Follow the links in my signature. 👍
  4. It's like everything else - just needs getting used to. There are lots of benefits to having an auto car.
  5. Is the current car is a lease? Why not ask for an extension?
  6. I don't have an Octavia but would presume it's exactly the same as all the other VAG cars:- One press of the button wakes the electrical system up and allows such as the windows etc to work. A press when you also have your foot on the brake (dsg) or clutch (manual) will start the car. You'll soon get to grips with everything. 👍
  7. They came out on the 15th May! Follow the links in my signature or here.
  8. Maybe that car is an EV and there's a lag in the details? It would be unusual to register it before doing a major transplant though! I'm still waiting to see a green edged plate complete with ID letters.
  9. I know exactly what you mean @KenONeill but think there may be an additional riposte from @J.R. as his French language prowess will exceed ours. 👍
  10. It's definitely cheaper to keep the car and change the headunit! Kenwood used to have some models that offered extra VAG features but I'm sure others will have suggestions to offer.
  11. Sounds ominous and can't fathom out how something that drastic isn't covered by a warranty claim!
  12. I’ve just had a quick look at the manual and it says you require a 1.5A 5V supply too. Can the outlet you’re using cope with that?
  13. But was it a quality branded item or something generic from eBay or Amazon? This will make all the difference!
  14. But can you? None of George’s photos show what I’d expect to see (letters only without flags, logos etc) and the GB will be replaced with UK very soon making existing plates obsolete abroad. Well at least needing additional origin identification too.
  15. I realise the middle ones are kosher but maybe the others were just from the consultation stage? The main question was about the “Rule Brittania’ (or earlier) additions though.
  16. Has anyone got/seen/has info on one of the new green EV car numberplates with either a GB, EU or even UK overlay? Presumably the country letters will actually be allowed on the plate but an online search has so far drawn a blank. No doubt this photo has a couple of other (non country) variations which aren't legal though? Or are they?
  17. I have an idea that @Tell might be able to throw his wand over the problem though........
  18. Unfortunately I easily get mistaken with the part numbers so will rely on additional info from someone else!
  19. I don't think your car has any CP issues but should require a unlock code for the new(er) unit.
  20. Have you tried another lead to such as a phone to confirm it isn't the new lead? I'll also move this to the Octavia section as it may get missed in here. BTW, welcome to Briskoda.
  21. Not quite the same but I’ve just had my car serviced and when booking it in was asked if I wanted a courtesy car - with, I believe a £10 insurance cost. There maybe was an excess involved but I can’t quite remember. I said that my current insurance would cover me so was asked to bring my licence and cover note when dropping the car off. Doing the online checkin the night before didn’t ask for anything and only my licence was checked on the day. Presumably I had an honest face and verification wasn’t necessary?
  22. john999boy replied to Helipilot's topic in Skoda Enyaq
I seem to recall people not liking that the USB position didn't change over with RHD cars. An excellent idea that could have been fine tuned - or even added as a 'better than nothing' option on the Enyaq.
  23. I think leaving it here will be attract a greater audience.
  24. Hence them realising the north doesn't actually start at Watford and the smoke & mirrors quote too. I think the main thing is that anywhere in the UK is easily reachable if the savings are worth it.
  25. Out of interest, how do you know it's not Rainworth's? To someone working from Marlow they could think they're telling the truth and still be wrong. The north starting from Watford springs to mind. As does smoke & mirrors.
