  1. I’m pretty sure that on my Superb that option (which is different to what the OP was posting about) can be disabled in the menus. As to the Octavia having the same ability…………..
  2. Soon it will be unlawful to not offer the same price to existing customers as that offered to new customers - or maybe I'm thinking about insurance! 🤔
  3. I went to the local 'unveiling' last night and was happy to say it looked just as good in the flesh as in the videos/photos. The EV 'Guru' seemed to spend a long time focussing on why EV car buyers shouldn't have range anxiety. He mentioned there was 8380 petrol stations in the UK and approximately double that number of EV charging locations. Maybe he forgot that petrol stations usually have more pumps that charging stations have chargers? He also said that Tesla was opening up their network to Kia but I seem to recall it was going to be opening to everyone? Is that right? The ability for the car to charge other cars or use external 240v devices came up - maybe nice to have but how many times will that get used? Anyway that aside, the car does look impressive - especially in the matt grey/silver metallic colour of this pre-release version. The rear seats made my knees raise up more than normal due to the batteries but not overly concerned as I don't normally sit there...... One other techy thing I noted was that, when the car had stopped and people were about to exit, the blind spot monitor will disable the door handles if traffic is approaching - not heard of the feature before. Nearly forgot to mention - food & drinks were available plus a ‘£350 sign on the day' discount. I think I'd rather wait until the demo car arrives! The photos complete with smoke machine dramatics. 👍
  4. Plenty of devices but no hubs. 👍
  5. 🪄 You only have to think about it being moved and magically it happens! 🪄
  6. That's the thing with cars though - what may be silly to one person is important to another. Hopefully others can come to assist the OP. 👍
  7. Is there a reason why you'd choose the 'slower' connection?
  8. @Gax Check the links in my signature. 👍
  9. That's pretty much my opinion too. However it would also be nice if manufacturer's actually delivered 100% working versions of what was promised!
  10. I hadn’t noticed until you mentioned it! The search continues for an OEM version……. 👍
  11. This was spotted on a YouTube video - the only (now outdated) one I've seen so far.
  12. You are correct - this does seem to be going round in circles and concentrating on things that, even though I have previously answered, will endeavour to clarify. I have at various times above called having the UK letters on numberplates, law, rules, legislation and updated instructions. The latter quote does not convey any agreement though. They were all used for your benefit but I still say 'law' is the correct one. I'm sure that you have access to Google to be able to search for details and clarification just as much as I have. Maybe also search for information saying it isn't the law too as that would move the onus to you? Regarding the law quote, I don't mean in general - I specifically mentioned you stating that you had never had a GB plate - here 'because in 40 years or driving UK reg vehicles in Europe I have never once had a GB plate, a GB or whatever plate that was legal yesterday will still be legal tomorrow, next year and ad infinitum no matter what political message the UK government is trying to convince you to display.' Therefore you saying it was 'totally unnecessary and without foundation' is not quite right. I don't wish this to become a tit for tat exchange so can we please leave it here - unless you find substantive proof either way then I will be glad to view it. 👏
  13. You seem to be focusing on me being the sole conduit of the 'updated instructions' whereas it should be on the people who appear to treat the law with contempt? Whether it is a rule, law or whatever I very much doubt you would take heed anyway.
  14. I can see that his comment went way over your head. My disinclination or inability to furnish this information doesn’t automatically make your assumption correct though. 👮‍♂️ If you want to take umbrage with this then I suggest you take it up with the UK or EU seats of power otherwise you’re just advocating anarchy akin to glueing your hands to the M25 to promote insulation!
  15. Maybe check if a bios update can help?
  16. As I'm not directly responsible for making, conveying or implementing the new 'legislation', I will let others furnish this information if they are able to. Also as you well know, that is totally unrelated to my reference above.
  17. Sometimes a more 'structured' use of English can pay dividends - and not attract the attention of Staff! 👏
  18. I'm not sure that one person from Picardie answers for all the law enforcers in Europe as to their willingness to uphold the new rules, laws or whatever they are interpreted as within this thread. The naysayers will be able to quote from here and refuse to pay any fines though. 😜 I don't know if numberplates are covered in the MOT but if they are then it appears that most current ones will be fine.
  19. There is no change for you driving your French car in the UK.
  20. Argh. I didn't actually take proper notice of the keyway. Why not try it in one of the locks to see?
  21. It just opens the doors in the hidden location. I don't think it has any immobiliser properties.
  22. It is actually a law @J.R..
  23. I thought most other cars already had this feature Chris. 👍
  24. Is this when in some sort of regen mode?
  25. The Bluetooth module could be added and some coding done but I would think that a new aftermarket headunit would offer more functionality. Remember that the surround might need to be different though.
