  1. A mod can maybe move to the Fabia Mk2 section where the other post is. ? Did you have the car last winter when cold? What engine does the Fabia have? I take it you have a 7 speed twin clutch DSG, a DQ200. How many miles has the car done? There might well be an issue with the DSG. Or, is it a late registered 1.6 petrol with a Tiptronic Automatic box?
  2. Motability buy them for Cash Money minus VAT. There are Renaults and Nissans with lower Advance Payments. More expensive models, petrol / hybrid. Manufacturers sell Motability cheap the ones they really need shifted, as Ford did last quarter with the Explorer & Capri.
  3. @Trickiejohn When up to 2 years ago the Schedule / Recommendation / Advice / Guidelines was to change the cam belt at 50,000 miles / 5 years on a TSI in the Non Dust Rich UK would you have changed earlier than that? This was a schedule unique to the UK! (Ireland as well but not other EU Countries.)
  4. The Chancellor has forced Motability to drop Premium (Luxury) cars from their available ones and they are German and also Chinese, Japanese & from Stellantis Alfa Romeo. There are more expensive cars than these Luxury models / Brands but they are still available. She is wanting the contribution from the tax payers in the way of the VAT not paid to help get more UK Built Nissan's first registered / leased. It makes no difference it seems that Motability had better residuals from the sale of the so called Luxury vehicles @ 3 years or sooner rather than the 'Ordinary cars'. This is maybe why Motability are taking such a high advance payment on the Renault 5 EV and the Nissan Micra EV. So looks like, Motability are going to 'Shift' nearly new cars that are looking for new owners. Very likely the thousands of Pre Registered EV,s kicking around in the UK that currently private and business users do not want.
  5. What are Stellantis failing to do? They have 14 car brands. My local Ford Dealership was taken over by A.M. Phillip that have Light & Heavy Goods dealerships / worshops (Maxus) and other stuff around Scotland. This week they started as Jeep & Leapmotor dealers as well as Ford.
  6. Is it because they are Built in China? Plans for building in the UK from 2026 were binned.
  7. @Upsidedown90 Just a small point on your 2019 Scala, the Cam Belt recommendations on replacing changed in 2023. It is only due if you want it replaced or if there is an issue. Same thing with the Octavia.
  8. @Aldfort Yes sorry. But that is not done by doing the oil change you suggest. Expect 1 litre out the MCU when draining that. 1.7 out of the gearbox. Did you edit out something about 1.9 litres not being expensive?
  9. The DQ400-e 6 speed DSG fitted to a PHEV has a 40,000 miles service interval.
  10. You get an adapter to plug in so that you can plug in 2 things.
  11. No point communicating with this lot. You need to get passed them. You need someone with Skoda UK,s executive team. A named person. The CEO is 3 monkeys as are his team. Selectively, deaf & blind and really dumb.
  12. Is that a Skoda Dealership you called? Even with just petrol engines there is regenarative braking / recuperation to help put charge to the battery. Helps with efficiency / fuel reduction.
  13. Auto Lights coming on too early can surely not be an issue if just Dipped Beam. The real issue i see but the driver seems not too is only DRL,s on to the front and no Sidelights / Headlights because they never switched them on or relied on the AUTO Setting. Headlights during daylight / daytime do not annoy drivers / road users or pedestrians do they? DRL.s only in poor light do.
  14. This really is a SKODA / VW UK issue. Lack of After Sales Customer Services. Do SKODA UK HQ know, is anyone in the EXECUTIVE TEAM aware? They really need to get a grip. They as in SKODA UK are their own worst enemy.
  15. They might have ran Estates as well as Hatchbacks. Often not the longer roof or even heavier car being the difference, it is the stronger rear springs and the front not going lighter so loss of traction. The other thing is running them all with TC / ASR off.
  16. Many a 1.2 TSI got a car back from a Service with too little oil in after the change. Many a 1.4 TSI Twincharger dies prematurely and the Demonstrators were never checked in the first 3 months / 3,000 miles until a pre used car sale check, or if a WARNING light or message showed.
  17. Re No difference, hot or cold check. Important is if people say which TSI. 1.0. 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 2,0, or are they talking MPI,s or TDI,s. Reason being Oil Capacity and is it a Oil Filter up top or lower. If you check enough different engines from ones with as little as 2.8 litres oe 3.2, then 3.6 you might well get to know, then there are 4.2 litres and 4.6 litres oil. & some pretty crap Dipsticks. & also Fitters / Techs that are dipsticks and turn out cars from a service with Low Oil or ovrt High oil. Now there are the No Dipstick engines and so far i have seen 3 Overfilled Oil threads on this forum. PS. 1.4 TSI CAVE / CTHE Twinchargers supposedly 3.6 litres oil capacity and they can be 1.3 litres low before a LOW OIL warning yellow oil can or message. The RED OIL CAN low oil pressure light or warning might come on first. These engines are happier with 3.9 / 4.0 litres of oil. & the Cold or Operating Temperature checks give very different results. Too many run low oil, as much as 1/3rd low.
  18. There are members here that have posted of 1.0 TSI Manuals with low miles but out of warranty and even in warranty Ex Dealers / Demonstrators cars with clutch failure who get nothing done and paid for by Skoda or Dealers.
  19. There is no filter to change. There are 2 oil,s in the box and in the MCU. Best have an Auto Specialist that knows about DQ200,s rather than a Main Dealer check it out.
  20. Almost over 87,000 EV chargers live across the UK then, 4 countries that is, not across the country. Is there something wrong with those that do Government Websites and press articles?
  21. @imart143 Your way is great, you know where the oil is when cold. Fine if you know the correct quantity of oil has been put in. A 'At normal operating temperature test' would show if there is a difference. The OP needs to know there is enough oil now in the 1.0 TSI and when the oil is hot. Unless he knows the difference between when cold with the correct oil quantity. It is not rocket science but VW / Skoda seem to like it to seem so. If people do stone cold checks and At Normal Operating Temps, approx 90*oC and the same level shows on the dip stick then fandabby dozzy. Dead simples. But does the cold level and hot show the same?
  22. It is 4 years old and not driven by you since new is it? Yes they can be faulty products. There were 2009-2012 then A Global Recall excluding Europe, then a Service campaign on ones 2013-2015, now done 3 times in Australia, then issues 2015-2018 and the TPI. But that is no help to you because like thousands of others you are going by the T&C,s and not The Lemon Law like in Australia, or countries where VW get bent over for stuff not fit for purpose for 6 years.
  23. For dipsticks difficult to read i dust a little French Chalk on it before Checking the Level of the oil @ Normal Operating temp as it is supposed to be checked, parked on the flat and 'A few minutes after the engine is off' 4 or 5 is a few. Always check as well when stone cold, so that you know where the oil is before a trip. Compare checked At operating temp, then once cooled down. Operating temp is the correct level. But then you know how much higher above the cross hatch it will be once cooled and even more oil is in the sump.
  24. Manufaturers Warranty & DSG Clutch Plates are covered. Extended / Approved UsedWarranty they are excluded. So 'All in Warranty' requires the reading of the T&C,s SKODA_Warranty_Terms_August 2025.pdf Approved used warranty booklet.pdf
  25. Let them show that TPI. See The famous DQ200 Clutch Slip in the Fabia Mk3 section. There were Software Updates and Clutch Pack upgrades.
