  1. The beauty of Main Dealerships is the vehicles new and used sitting about the place. Easy for the Receptionist or a Tech / Fitter or salesperson to go with the key to a car leave it in and see if the car locks with it in.
  2. @lol-lol BEV,s do handshake with chargers. ? So what chargers / Charging provider is it that you can just plug into and off the charging goes like Tesla,s at Superchargers.? You obviously have have an Account with your payment details
  3. The car is not designed to lock with a keyless entry key in it when parked with the ignition off.
  4. That is 'Range / guessing'. Shown on driving and recent efficiency. Unlike with some EV,s which maybe when at 100% show the range based on 4 miles or maybe 5 miles a kWh. Others might actually show based on the actual average 3.1 miles. But charge to 100% and it is back to what gets published as WLTP possible range. As to the Mileometer and tyre size, pressures being different, you sometimes get a few tenths of a mile difference showing between setting at the start of a journey to zero and the total miles that the many mileage shows. I tend to start my Smart Watch or phone on a Trip App and see how many miles the GPS says i have done compared to the vehicle showing.
  5. @VooDoo Sorry but £77 of fuel means nothing as no idea how many litres you get for that where you buy it. But if 144 pence a litre £6.55 ish a gallon) you got about 11.8 gallons. Less than 53 litres. So that is not filled right up is it? Has it got a 60 litre fuel tank? 333 miles divided by 11.8 is 28.2 MPG, but you are not empty. Fill it up and see once it shows only 40 mile range maybe.
  6. The 5 year / 50,000 miles Cambelt Change in the UK with a TSI was crazy, even with a ACT or COD. VW Group put out the Press Release / TPI in June 2023. Listen to them or make up your own mind how long you want to keep the Cambelt fitted. As much as for 150,000 miles / 15 years if you want. £850-£1,200 is a lot of money to spend out. But if it is peace of mind, then go ahead.
  7. An online chat with someone anyplace in the world who might have no mechanical engineering training of any kind. Once AI is on the job lets hope they are not learning from call handlers previous discussions.
  8. The thread title says PETROL, but it was a TDI using DIESEL.
  9. Good enough. near enough. Small point on rare cars, hardly any left on the DVLA database on road or SORN. They are occasionally totally wrong with some cars. @Graham Butcher Now today and yesterday discussing the Scores on the doors. Groundhog day again, the section is full of previous posts on the kidology. I posted asking about people trying a BEV. & not about why not to have one or try one. So you have not. I do not monitor you day to day to know what you have been doing. If i read it here i might see. Lots of trip posted i do not read.
  10. @Graham Butcher Have you driven a BEV? It is not just all about owning one. You can get as a courtesy car, or on loan and charged and ready to go and maybe never need to charge them. Or hire sometime. There are Car Clubs etc. Are there any members posting on this forum that have only ever had Electric cars, or New ICE vehicles, or ICE vehicles no more than a year or 3 old? I have never driven a bus, a road roller, or flown a plane but have an idea about them. Not enough to be debating the merits of them though.
  11. I have asked the Mods to move to the Fabia section where you might get replies. 115,000 is not a lot for a car at least 18 years old. So it is a 2.0 petrol you are looking at.
  12. ? Do people who tried a BEV not find what a pleasure they can be to drive? Fantastic in the cold or wet or cold and wet to just get in be it pre conditioned or not. Almost instant heat and clear interior glass. Those that have never tried one or more should maybe do so. & Get an idea what it is they are discussing.
  13. You can pay some money and online get the Servicing Info for your car. It will show what Dealers never do like Sunroofs. Or that VW Group UK was taking the Pith with 5 years / 50,000 mile Cam Belt changes up to 2023. & even more so since the UK is not considered 'Dust Rich'. Unless you live or work near a quarry maybe.
  14. Do all checks visually pre and post winter. Check tyres / pressures regularly. Check the Pollen / Cabin filter and clean or replace each year rather than 2 if you want. Check the Air Filter annually rather than every 6 years / 60,000 miles. Spark Plugs every 40,000 miles / 4 years. Brake fluid change is now each 2 years rather than first at 3 then each 2. A search of Briskoda service charts, or Oil & Inspection Services will likely show you what little Skoda Main Dealer Servicing involves. They might tick a box, that means nothing, certainly not that it was done.
  15. That was the pre June 2023 Service Sheet i posted.
  16. But the UK had unique advice, recommendations From VW Group UK & Main Dealerships.. A not 'Dust Rich Country'. The VW Group in UK,s Customer Services contractor / call handlers are really next to useless,
  17. But, in the UK for many many years, Skoda, SEAT, Audi & VW have had it as recommended at 5 years / 50,000 in the 'Not Dust Rich Country' for all the engines with belts. This was the goose that laid the Golden Egg. There are Main Dealers Service Desk Staff that will still say this is the Schedule, Recommendation, Specification.
  18. ^^^ Worth a message to the Service Centre / Branch Manager to make them aware more staff training required.
  19. @lol-lol For the same purpose that false statistics are trotted out now by the Government or Politicians or those with a financial interest. This time it would maybe show that it is those and such as those that benefit most. The haves get more and more for less, and those at the lower statuses as far as wealth / income get shafted. Car registrations and those declared offroad when no private buyer has turned a mile in them is something that needs looked at much closer.
  20. Is it a AWD Karoq? Has the DQ250 had servicing each 64,000 km? If front wheel drive it has a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. No servicing. Is it not in Eco or Coasting?
  21. PS, has it gone all metric down London England way? Fixed Regime up to 9,400 miles / 372 days as Skoda UK had it. Variable / Flexible, 18,000 - 20,000 miles / 24 months.
  22. & that is only to VW 502 00, & not VW504 00 / 507 00? Not Long Life? I used to get cheap in Discount supermarkets Castrol Edge 5w 40 FS VW502 00 Not because cheaper than the LL but because i did not use Long Life Oil in 1.4 TSI Twinchargers.
  23. 0w 30 FS III hardly got a mention until it was the recommended oil for some engines like thew TDI / TSI that VW Group did not Recommend 0w 20 FS IV for. VW508 00 / 509 00 So a few years after your car / engine was built. These in the chart below were for Fabia / Roomster TSI,s / petrols 2007-2015. 2007-2010 some were Fixed Oil Service Schedule only, while the engine in a VW could be Variable / Flexible Servicing. (Toyota changed from 5w 30 FS III to 0w 30 FSIII in 2010 after they had gone Euro 5 from Euro 4 and there were complaints about the kidology of MPGs, they had published.)
  24. @Aldfort I do actually drive various VW Group cars and pay attention to VW,s, Seats, Skoda & Audis. New cars or nearly new as well as having driven older ones.
  25. @BlueWagon What oil is it you use? Does the 5w 30 you use not say Long Life and is to VW504 / 507 & not say to VW 502 00 5w 40 FS is usually to VW502 00 & for fixed service intervals / 9,400 miles / 12 months. VW504 00 / 507 00 be it 0w 30 FS III or 5w 40 FS III is for Variable Servicing or Fixed Oil Servicing. @TenaciousLee Plenty 0w 30 FS III available. It is on the selves at ASDA or TESCO. But your engine just needs 5w 40 FS is fixed oil changes or 5w 30 FS III if fixed or variable. Seeing as it is a 2013 1.2 TSI.
