  1. In relation to your Golf GTI. I heard a similar problem when reading a write up on a long term GTI in Evo magazine. Might be worth a read on the website, it might assist with any claim you make.
  2. Same as above had that problem on my ibiza cupra. changed the MAF and lambda probe.
  3. VRS or Vauxhall. Not a great fan of vauxhall but it would be a bit different as you dont see many VXR's. Read a long term review when a car mag had one on their fleet and it seemed pretty popular and well liked. Think it might have been EVO mag if you fancy doing a search.
  4. Have only read a few replies but you could also look at various companies that offer trainning in the initial recruitmet process. try www.Police-Recruitment-Trainning.co.uk I'm sure there are plenty of others as well. Good luck
  5. Awesome thread just read all of it! Really jealous! Look forward to reading more.
  6. Looks stunning in white would look even better with just the side stripes imho. Whats next on the shopping list?
  7. Have to agree I would just do them all anyway. Had a AYP 1.8T 150 in my ibiza and they kept going until I just hot them all changed. Can be pretty annoying when you pull out to overtake and it suddenly goes into limp mode! Think I paid £25 about 2 years ago.
  8. Had problems with running really rough on my ibiza 1.8T, the MAF and Lambda change did the trick. Blue smoke usually means turbo! Oh dear!
  9. Dont do it, surely the less stickers the better? Up to you though at the end of the day.
  10. Like it, looks nice. How loud is it on the motorway etc?
  11. I would agree with others and say you are over reacting. As above how many complaints do you think are received from residents, neighbours etc... and it may also be intimidating for others using the car park when a large group of lads etc are there. If you have insurance, MOT , tax etc then you have nothing to worry about do you! They have to be seen to be doing something i.e. providing a high profile presence.
  12. Love the OZ wheels Octavia VRS! I want your car!
  13. I agree driving with fogs is asking for it. How ma times do you think that the police hear "I didnt know they where on!" Sounds like the lesson has been learnt though. With regards to your annoyance at the information you where given, I think that people are verbeing very unforgiving. I doubt very much you all know everything there is to know in your proffessions! Also no offence is actually required i order to stop a vehicle. Police can stop any vehicle on any road.
  14. Loving the escort van! A8 seems like a strange choice to take on track, bit of a barge! Good pics:thumbup:
  15. Get the cambelt done now! better safe than sorry. I dont know if the diesels have problems with the water pump like the petrols?
  16. I would have thought that your Insp will just cuff it as it sounds like nothing. In which case it wont go to professional standards or anything like that. He can just deal with it as a local resolution. Not a nice thing to go through though. Hope all gets sorted.
  17. I had Alpine type R comps and 6x9's running off a 4 channel amp. They where brilliant. clear all the way up and could handle lots of volume. Make sure you use some dynamat or similar to prevent rattles etc and kil road noise.. Good luck
  18. Strangely always wanted a scirocco as a young lad. Wouldn't mind a audi Quattro either
  19. Ex police car special offers - Direct sales of high performance used cars Not sure mileage on the above example but is 05 car. Pic seems to be a library picture though but might be worth a look? Should have been well looked after.
  20. Yes go for it! It will do plenty more than that as long as its looked after. Have seen some do 160 - 180k with little problems. Main things are as already said cambelt and water pump 4 yrs or 40k now i believe. Also I belive the suspension can be prone to wear but others on here will tell you more.
  21. Have a look at Specialized Hardrock, you should be able to get one with hydraulic disk brakes for that price.
  22. Wow thats an impressive skoda history. Hope you enjoy the superb.
  23. Here here, hate the way that every mark and imperfection shows through. Cant answer the original question though!
  24. Would've thought a clio 182 would kill a vrs pretty easily
