Weird, mine wasn’t anywhere near what you describe. Yes, it was slow to get going after pressing the throttle but apart from that mine was perfectly smooth and responsive around town. And yes, plenty of people HAVE said that the 1.0 110 isn’t any good for motorways or hills, plenty of them on here as well. Absolute poppycock, that engine is more than good for motorways and hills. They are either lying or driving the 90 hp engine,

I’ve owned/driven both the 1.0 110 and 1.5 148 hp Kamiqs and the difference is negligible. Yes, the 1.5 picks up quicker but that’s where the differences end. The 1.0 110 hp is brilliant on motorways and hills, and it’s a complete red herring when people say it isn’t. Brilliant engine,
  3. Totally agree, I’m on my second Kamiq and they have been by far the quietest, most solidly built cars I’ve ever owned.
  4. Go and buy a Rolls Royce, I guarantee that you will become sensitive to the odd rattle or squeak. Like I say, simple physics. When was the last time a car manufacturer, ANY car manufacturer, sold a car with the guarantee of no squeaks or rattles? No? Thought not. VW tried it in the late eighties and early nineties (who remembers the advert?), but that was a sales gimmick. They still squeaked and rattled, I had two of them so I’m qualified to confirm it, Jesus, come on guys 🙄😂😂
  5. And yet I’m on my fourth Škoda from 2004 and none of them have displayed rusting rear discs, just the odd NORMAL light rusting when not driven for a couple of days. Every single car I’ve driven from Audi to Peugeot to Ford has had this (non) issue. A quick drive applying the brake pedal now and again will resolve it. It’s superficial surface rust, I don’t get why people are getting their knickers in a twist over it. I’m coming to the conclusion that I must have a really hard life if this is all people have to worry about, especially when I read posts like this. Jesus. First world problems 😂😂

Software update, literally as simple as that. Do not be fobbed off, it’s a software update. My first Kamiq had the dreaded sos fault, but my dealer updated it and it ran flawlessly until I traded it in for another Kamiq.
  7. Never heard of it, sorry🤷🏻‍♂️
  8. Colin, I’ve been a member since 2004, so I know the etiquette. I was merely saying that the app wasn’t for me and a waste of time, if someone gets offended thats their problem. I will defend myself when I need to, whether you ban me or not. Peace and love🤘
  9. I had an issue a couple of years ago which in the end forced my hand to email Matthew Bowden. I received the “referred to the Executive Team” email and shortly after my issue was resolved and compensation recieved. DONT ever be fobbed off if you know you are in the right, badger these people until you get a satisfactory outcome. More people give up then fight on, and these car manufacturers know it. Not me, no way.
  10. Hahaha brilliant😂 Seaman, I literally couldn’t care less what you or anyone else does, but I do care when having been a member here since 2004 I’m lately reading more and more flakey, whinging posts about things like Apps not recording to the exact millilitre the amount of fuel they’ve used and the exact amount of miles they’ve driven, it’s frankly both hilarious and embarrassing. I wouldn’t dream of contacting Skoda because the app isn’t working properly, it is beyond embarrassing, and frankly they couldn’t give a stuff either. To them people like you are just a pain in the backside. The app is a novelty mate, when it works it’s mildly useful and when it doesn’t it affects no one’s life…….apart from yours obviously 😂 Allow me to educate you, these apps and the things they record are NOT exact, and yes sometimes they have glitches and don’t work at all, it’s called technology and life. As for me endangering others, I’ve probably got less chance than you of that, because I’m not spending half my time worrying and fiddling with the technology to ensure everything is working tickety boo. My life is very simple thanks, no unnecessary stress and no obsessing about things that often just don’t work. Hey maybe your life is much better than mine, because if all you’ve for to worry about is a novelty app that records your mpg and trip data you really cannot have anything, ANYTHING else to worry about. You lucky lucky man😉
  11. I’ll go put that in my bothered pocket. Throbber🙄😂😂 😂🤡
  12. So you’ve got a week to put up with a message flashing up on your screen? Am I in the minority here? Am I the only one with real, actual worries and real life problems on this forum? I was on another thread recently whereby some idiot was crying because the Skoda app wasn’t behaving how he wanted it to and he couldn’t get an accurate mpg figure for his trips. Get a f life mate, Jesus. It’s both tragic and hilarious in equal measure🙄😂😂😂
  13. I started reading your reply then got bored after the second sentence. I tried, sorry. Listen, if you want to drive like your nan just to get the buzz of seeing your mpg on the app then you fill your boots mate, we all have our weird little traits, there’s no shame. Id strongly argue that my input didn’t add anything to the thread, I was trying to highlight to our new Skoda friends that it’s not healthy to be so obsessed with the app and mpg figures. Jesus, life is far too short. Your life must be very very simple, lucky you👍 I bet you’re fun on a night out, drop me a message if you ever fancy a drink………(actually don’t bother) 🙄😂😂😂
  14. You seem offended mate, no offence intended. I “went to the effort of posting” because I cannot believe some of the futile posts I keep reading on this forum. As far as I can tell the only reason someone would be bothered about the app is because they are that bothered about their mpg figures. Drive like your nan, you are probably saving a quid here or there, I’ve got far more important things to worry about. Horses for courses, no need to get upset. I am a firefighter and drive fire appliances, I only mention it as you said you were a photographer for the fire brigade. What’s your point? Enjoy the app, I hope it brings you joy👍
  15. I’ve been driving for over 30 years and up until recently I never had the option to check my mpg or average speed on an app. Thing is, back in the glory days of the early 90’s when I was tearing around in my Escort XR3i my mpg or average speed was the last thing on my mind. Same throughout the 2000’s with my various other cars, until relatively recently when apps became available to check such things. Point is, I didn’t care then and I don’t care now. Do any of you really drive like your nan just to see how high you can get your mpg on the app? If you do I feel very sorry for you, and would encourage you to get a life. My car is a tool for me to get from A to B, work, the shops etc, therefore I get in and drive it. If I want to put my foot down I put my foot down, if I don’t I don’t, the app is the last thing on my mind. I totally get the argument for driving conservatively in order to save fuel, but in reality how much in monetary terms are you actually saving, a quid in every full tank? Two quid maybe? All that effort and stress to save a pound or two, I’ve got far better things to worry about. The ONLY thing remotely useful is the health check of the car, although I suspect that even that isn’t totally reliable. Im all for progress, but this app just seems like a useless gimmick to me, and therefore not worth a second of my time worrying about it. Each to his own I suppose.
  16. My last four or five cars have had start/stop and none of them have worked according to the manufacturers guidance, from Audi to Ford to Peugeot and back to Skoda. Do I care? Nope, I know that for the system to work the stars have to align and the gods have to be smiling. Seriously, don’t waste another second worrying about it. If your car runs ok otherwise then direct that start/stop worry elsewhere.

    Gotcha, I misunderstood.

Until the part arrives I’d insist that any passenger(s) you have sit in the back. Either that or make sure you have a decent seatbelt cutter every time you have a front seat passenger. Dramatic maybe, but worst case scenario is that your front seat passenger NEEDS to get out of the car (could be for an emergency like medical or a car accident) and they can’t……because ŠKODA couldn’t be bothered to rush through the delivery of the part to have it fixed. Im speaking from operational experience, you do NOT want a passenger using a seatbelt that doesn’t release. Bang on the door of your dealership every single day until it has been fixed, whatever it takes. I would be.
  19. Those figures are decent wit that engine👍
  20. Wit is a typo right? Please, tell me it’s a typo😐
  21. A bomb in the glovebox? Jesus I was Joking. I joined this site nearly 20 years ago and went away for a while, but since being back I’ve noticed a distinct lack of lightheartedness and humour compared to the old days. Give me the old crowd, this lot don’t know how to have a laugh🙄😂😂😂
  22. A bomb in the glovebox?
  23. Or just tell them to replace it. There’s something wrong with your car which is under warranty, you tell them to put it right. Give stealers an inch and they’ll try to take a mile. Ive seen too many people over the years getting fobbed off from Dealers. They bend over backwards during the purchasing stage, then when you’ve given up your signature they don’t even act like they give a toss. Tell them.
  24. Instead of asking them to put it right, tell them to put it right. The car is pretty much new, so obviously under warranty. They have to put it right if there is a fault. Simple as that.
