  1. They look like standard wishbones that have been slotted (badly)
  2. very early golf 1.8t cable throttle engines (agr i think) had massive intake ports compared to the later engine, ideally you want that head on a bam block and ancillaries, and for the record kkk turbos are not great unless hybridised (uprated or 360 thrust bearing and tougher seals) if you are looking for something to drive hard alot
  3. Thats a perfectly fair price, we do it for £160 inc alignment using the ibiza cupra bushes
  4. Yes, as devonutopia says its a vnt unit just like the 130..... and fails just like the 130, we always fit garrett units now as the kkk's are made of cheese and ice cream
  5. Its the actuator sticking in the turbo i m afraid, no cure but to strip and re build or replace turbo
  6. We had a very similar fault to this recently, unfortunately it turned out to be the head gasket casuing the airlocks, the only other thing you can try is reverse flushing the cooling system ?
  7. You need to clean out the throttle body and whilst thats off you ll see a pipe coming into the inlet manifold at the bottom, that ll be blocked so clean that out too and you are done, might want to think about selling up or re building the engine though as this is usually a prelude to piston ring failure
  8. Blimey thats rediculous, no wonder people come and see us specialists lol
  9. LOL their entire range is based on parts you could buy from vw/skoda/audi/seat, you just need the 312mm discs, pads and carriers from a mk4/leon/tt, can be had on ebay for around £100-£170
  10. Should be no more travel, try bleeding the brakes again
  11. Using genuine parts? just the belt? or all tensioners and water pump? remember kids always get like for like quotes, for example we could change the cambelt only on that model for £170 using pattern parts, or £300 using genuine parts and also replacing the water pump and all tensioners
  12. You only need shorter links if the arb is fouling on the drivers side driveshaft, if it's not (and trust me you'd know about it) don't worry
  13. Differences are:- turbo, inlet manifold, egr body, map, camshaft, boost pipe routing from the turbo and egr pipe from manifold is at a different angle, also injectors are slightly different
  14. Base engines come timed up with new pump and tensioners, so no point changing it early
  15. Yup i think any kind of map carries a risk, all i would say is do your research before getting a map, we have had to sort out some horrendous mapping recently as people are increasingly drawn towards the cheapest maps and not necessarily the best mappers
  16. Really? the powerflex is just a push in helper on the standard bush, the best remedy is using the ibiza cupra bushes which are a fit for life item and dont really affect interior noise/vibration at all, prices are £160 fitted inc alignment for anyone interested
  17. I think it might be possible to change with vag com, I'll have to check
  18. They are actually identical underneath ! sounds like consoles may be on the way if the fab fells soggy !!
  19. Ha ha, as long as the collars haven't started to separate you can just clean up the rust and flaking powder coat then grease it and put in new bushes ; )
  20. For both you guys, it's corrosion on the arb under the mounting bush, you'll more than likely need a new f arb and new f arb bushes, I ve seen/heard it a million times before ; )
  21. Unfortunately it's quite a common failure on the dsg equipped cars, we're seeing more and more failures recently :'(
  22. Very quick update, but this is now running and awaiting final mapping , pics to follow when we ve got a minute
