My airbag warning light will not go off. Found broken wire in loom that goes into drivers door. What is the part number please .

Today my Octy went in for service and had a curtsy New Octavia 1.5 loaned. Took me a while with this one with all the new gadgets. Did not like view to the rear, like looking in a post box. Front vision at first like sitting on the floor but did get it up a bit with loads of yanking, vision obscure by that massive chunk with mirror. Performance was very quick except take foot off throttle, engine did not slow car so braking constantly, I drive on the gas pedal as a rule and my Octy slows up straight away. Interior, felt like I was driving a mini where as mine feels spacious, end result for me is a no no if I was looking to buy,

Just bought one from ebay at £3.11. At first it looked identical to present one but this one seems to be too thick plus slightly oversize in diameter, As having to pay return postage I will "muck" around it if I can make it fit.

My one has mind of its own, even setting at at 22 degrees the centre vents blow cool whereas the outer ones are hot, The temperature needle at least now is moving to correct position, Garage say it is the Matrix , Any thoughts guys?.

So had problem with the heater where the thermostat would not move and cold air coming through vents at 22d setting , Had both themostats replaced along with a sensor or whatever its called. Took it for a run and all seemed well. Well 24 hrs and problem back, now he said its proberly the Matrix on the drivers side blocked as when he fiddeled around turning knobs etc the heat came through when it was on maximum. Whats involved getting to the matrix and how to unblock is my question, would appreciate you comments , Thanks.

Three times was seen by Skoda with all the fancy gear and did not do any improvement. So done the disconnecting thing and all my problems were solved. Forget the key comment in my case.

Well to me it done that. I did leave out one thing in that comment and that was turning on the headlights with the leads off. of course they will not come on but maybe it is draining the last bit of energy in the system. So, I can now start the the car in an instant instead of waiting ages for it to go.

Check the yellow wire in harness from car to door, that if you peel back the rubber harness you might find what I had, which was. a broken wire . Easy fix

i had many of them problems until I done this. Disconnect both battery leads. Clamp them both together and leave them for about 20 mins. Reconnect both to battery.Mine started right away and no longer have them problems

This might sound stupid but it worked for me. Three times mine has been back to Skoda dealer each time saying "it could be anything so would require searching for problemn so bring it in for two days !. Anyway saw this on Utube and tried it and problemn solved. Disconnect both battery leads and connect then together.Wait for around twenty mins , then reconncet to battery. Could not believe it , problem solved.

Here we go again, engine will not start until I wait about one minuet with ignition on. Trouble is some times it will start after waiting but light does not go off. However the there is no power lost at any time. But when driving with the light on several other things happen. Tempetur gauge does not move off from zero and headlights do not seem normal. One last thing at one time the engine started but with the dsg box in reverse it would not go until I stopped the engine and restarted it,.Any comments?.

Thought I should note that all has been done, ie yellow wire broken , took ten minuets and guy only wanted £20 and that was with diagnostic where he cleared all faults. Mt Skoda dealer wanted £80 for test £15 for curtsy car plus mending the break. I did ring them and told them of what was wrong but they insisted on doing a diagnostic test first.

Just had a look and yes the yellow wire is broken but how did you join the wire as it is so small a place to get my hands in.

Thank you guys for comments . The diagnostic revealed that the wire had been "broken "but at moment where, all was ok under the seat so will try the hinge area.

As a after thought just what position under the drivers seat is the swirch which might have been disturbed

The car was serviced by Skoda couple of weeks ago and yesterday the airbag warning light cam up and does not go off ,why?.

Yes is the answer, it is the 140 CR with DSG Elegance all servicing correct since new by Skoda dealer.

There has been many topics on this one but it seems mines odd one out. Have now done 118k miles with regular Skoda services, For last year the car will not start from cold without waiting at least 30 seconds or more with the ignition on ,according to how cold it is outside. From warm engine it starts right away most times but sometimes the light remains on. Performance and mpg are still good. So here are some of the things showing which are not right. Start engine put dsg into reverse, nothing happens. Stop engine, wait awhile and all is ok then. Temperature gauge hardly ever gets to the middle position even after 50 odd milesn on motorway. At times but not very often the light does not come on , but just pops up for no apparent reason, Skoda supposed to have done the usual testing saying "it could be many things". Any ideas ?.Thanks.

Took the plunge and bought the OBD11 Inteface plus downloaded Torque app. It is supposed to give all results in what is required. Which in my case is the engine warning light coming up now and again. Having tried several times without success. All I am getting is Bank 1 and Bank 2 ok , then still with no numbers but following..Test in compleat Test failed.MID 31 TID CO Boost pressuurebank 1 Missfire cylinder 16 data. To me this is all gobble duke talk. Any one got idea what it is saying and why I cannot get the code for each item requred?. Thanks.

My EMC light did not go off after starting plus as I have dsg it would not engage whether forwards or reverse , Stopped engine ,waited and restarted. This time the light did go off and gear select worked as well. Are the two related and advise please what to do. It had service in October. Thanks.

Well this week has been a mystery with my Octy. Had service three weeks ago so thought everthing was ok until when going to start up it did not start which was a first. Wated for thr glopwlugs to warm up and it went ok. The warning light went out after a while but came back later.So went down to my Skoda dealer and they put on the "tester" and it seemed that no confirmed items came up . They said it could be anything from glow plug , loose wire and so on . Whilst the motor is working fine just keep aware of it otherwise it might be a costly investigation or next to nothing. It has done 117 500 miles , regular servicing since new and pulling my caravan a good mpg 27/34.

Now getting concerned as to why the fan is running when engine off for some time even on few mile run , is something going wrong?
