Actual consumption measurements put my 1.8TSI at high 20's around town and 38mpg at best on motorway. I bought the car for less then £11K with 15K miles in April just gone (11 plate) so I'm very happy with it (though I changed jobs two months after I bought it and now I'm throwing 25K a year on it...)

Afraid I'm not after the car but interested to learn how you get that information about fuel gal and outside temp through your maxidot? Good luck with sale looks a great car.

Funnily enough I tried it out today. Love it. Learn something everyday. Looks very smart for them to fold out automatically.

I don't mind pressing a button to fold them - didn't know I could tbh

What about if you have the dial on the mirror control that has a fold position? Should I be able to have them auto fold???

My wife calls my car the barge (or the boat). Barge as its long and narrow. It's handles pretty well for a big thing though so the boat isn't quite accurate. I'm back and forth London fairly regularly now and I'd have to say I wouldn't pick another car for the job.

Meh - I bought a 1.8TSI for dirt cheap and am now proceeding to put 25K a year through it. Will take 2 years to be more expensive than buying equivalent diesel...

My insurance was 330 for the year on my 1.8 turbo but I need to tell them I've changed jobs and am doing at least 22K plus annually - was 7k before!

1.8TSI ftw though maybe not for a taxi. Though looks like I'm going to be putting 20K+ a year on mine now...
