Petrol VRs Driving Tips for best performance
danroly replied to muterobert's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Simples really-try and keep a steady speed and reduce the amount of time you are braking and then accelerating back up.......drive as smoothly as you can and the engine is flexible enough to bimble along in 5th. If you put the info display on current mpg setting it can help you to be disciplined.........it can also show you how low mpg drops when you acclerate hard-5mpg! to be honest though dont worry too much about it-they aint the thirstiest of cars even when you rag em! enjoy -
rdjwarren its already been said.....................if you live in manc no garage ten it costs stupid to insure a vrs. im 36 4 yrs ncd and pay 630 with axa. just found out they wont insure any mods :'( had silly quotes for 1-2 grand 3 grand excess. the big insurance swindle grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

its cos they are skint in loads of debt and trying to claw cash back....................you can get a twingo renault sport for less than a 1.25 fiesta zetec mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no brainer

awesome family cars and a fair bit less manic than the type r........you dont have to thrash it to get the best.........although those hondas sure like to rev and would be faster on a twisty road. Take your time looking assaid above......prices have gone up but what i can remember about the mk1 type r is that they hold their value fantastically well so you should get some cash to bargain with also agree mk1 vrs a great bargain

a thumbs up from me too. The tyre pressure warning light came on on tuesday and after checking them and adding air light still on, thought i best get it checked out. on my way to Kwik siht i realised Hobbin right opposite so took it there. only had to wait 5 mins before a tech came and looked at it. puncture in off side rear........new vreds They fixed it for free and checked the oil and tyre treads on front and advised on these. got made a brew and sat reading, watching tv and talking with friendly staff-cheers to Charlie Kwik fit would have cost me no doubt and they would have tried to rip me off on the tyres too. Nice 1 Hobin
