Emissions Warning Light - glow plug
A sheared plug obviously, as the head will need to be removed to remove the remains, unless you're being a smart arse about something else...

Manual 6 speed gearbox oil change

Superb MK3 Headlight Distance
You're really overthinking this tbh. Nobody said dob in with a screwdriver etc, you've already done it with your Octavia so you know a little goes a long way, quarter of a turn made a huge difference on my xenon equipped superb and I never blinded any oncoming cars. The IV LEDs seem to be the right height but I haven't done much night driving yet, I only have it a few weeks.

Upgrading to 19's
My old Superb diesel had the bottom of the range 16 inch wheels but had practically no road noise in the cabin. My new IV has 18 inch wheels and the road noise is dreadful it really ruins the car.

Superb MK3 Headlight Distance
Why get so technical about it, just raise them with a 5mm Allen key, sorted👍. If they magically reinstate themselves ( I doubt they will) you can lower them again with said Allen key.

VCDS options on Superb III
You have a lot more options available. On mine it's only suspension, drive and aircon that are adjustable. It always defaults to normal mode. The suspension in normal mode is horrible it wallows like a galley ship so much you'd feel car sick and the wheels make this terrible whoosh whoosh noise as the car keeps pitching up and down especially on the motorway. I thought it was bad on the diesel car, it's a million times worse on this car.

Engine failure: Gudgeon/wrist pin snapping
That'll do it👍👍 Was there a teenager involved by any chance?

VCDS options on Superb III
Is there any way to keep the individual setting on the DCC? After every start I have to go into the dopey unit to select individual. My god the new Columbus is slow, a Pye valve radio from the 60s is faster to start up.

They'll just have to keep dousing it in penetrating oil and very gently tightening and loosening, having the engine half warm can sometimes help too.

Superb iV 3 pin charging
I understand that you're using the granny cable. I'm very lucky that there's a free Lidl charger in walking distance to me, which, as you say takes about 4 hours to do a full charge. If the car could charge at 7Kw it would be brilliant.

Superb iV 3 pin charging
If you're using the Skoda charger having it on the 30A cooker circuit will make no difference as the unit will only deliver at a maximum of 10A. I have an install date of the 2nd of November for my charge point which will allow the car to charge at its maximum of 16A that will make a big difference to the length of charge time. If I could get that elusive update that would allow it to charge at 32A it would be brilliant.

Superb IV - L&K 1 year on
I can't find it, I've visited so many threads regarding the IV, I asked the poster for more info but didn't get an answer.

Superb IV - L&K 1 year on
In one of the threads, not this one obviously, somebody said they'd gotten an update recently from the dealer that allowed the car to charge at 7Kw/h, that would be a major improvement as the painfully slow charge rate is really letting the car down.

Columbus - how to transfer files to storage/jukebox on new iV
Just spotted this thread. I have the same Columbus unit in my car. The problem I have is with audiibooks, when you leave the car it goes back to the start of the book, is there any way to stop it doing that?

What bulbs are fitted to the S3 & upgraded bulb recommendations
What type of bulb is in the front indicator on the facelift cars, I can't find out anywhere. Seems very strange they went back to a tungsten bulbs after using the white/orange DRL on the xenon cars.

Superb iV 3 pin charging
Like yourself I would be a sedate driver and I'll coast for this battery charge and see how it goes. Any thoughts on the reserve battery? I've set mine to zero for this test.

Superb iV 3 pin charging
It can get complicated can't it? For town driving in EV mode would you recommend B mode or coasting? I'm going to set the clock to zero today with a full charge and see what distance I actually get. If you could explain what reserve battery does I would be very grateful, the manual is as clear as mud on that one...

16A or 32A socket
Can it charge at 7Kw/h with the latest software? That would be fantastic, the slow charging is very frustrating, even on a 22Kw charger it still takes almost 4 hours (obviously it's maxing out at 3,6 on my car) What software version are you running now?

Superb iV cruising mpg
If you choose a lower cruising speed, staying around 60mph it will jump from ev to ice more frequently at your higher speed it will rarely move to ev mode. I've gotten 63 mpg from my first 1000km I'm hoping for better from this tank of juice.

Superb iV 3 pin charging
I agree with you on that, I am finding that electrical consumption is starting to improve. When I get my chargepoint installed it will make it much easier. I love the B regen function, it took a bit of getting used to but I miss it when it isn't engaged, one pedal driving is very easy to get used to.

Superb iV 3 pin charging
I have my iV 2 weeks now and I'm lucky in that there's a free Lidl charger close to me which charges at the maximum 3.6Kw/hr the battery can handle, I have used the granny cable too but my god is it slow. I can't see using the granny cable doing any harm to the battery but it will test your patience!! Battery life on mine is shocking I'm struggling to get more than 25Km from a full charge, initial feelings on the car are very disappointing I'm sad to say. In the first 1000 Km I've gotten 63 mpg which includes 4 full charges and using B mode continuously. I was getting better mpg figures from the 2 litre TDI it replaced.

Retrofit ACC
I had it before on a 172 Octavia, it was let down by the manual handbrake but once out of town it was fantastic.

Adding secondary user for Skoda Connect
Is there any way to stop that stupid black welcome screen appearing every few minutes? It's driving me stone cracked!!

Sorry I only clicked the link there now, that looks like it would do the job perfectly.

You're giving me hope again.. would I need to replace the cc switch that I already have? Would I need an extra wiring loom?
