Any other scout owners had a vibration issue on their car ? I'm getting one at around 2000 - 2500 rpm on acceleration and de-acceleration. Not apparent if the throttle is held constant. In addition, it feels more obvious in the higher gears but this is probably because of the time taken to travel through the rpm range. The "buzz" can be felt through the seat and heard in the cabin but difficult to tie down externally. To be honest it almost feels like the centre box on the exhaust could have gone but there's no rattles or anything else .....

What about when they rot though as is the problem for many a scout owner !!

Has anyone had their scout wheels refurb'd. If so, where, how much and was it a good job ?

Has anyone found a good refurb place for these types of wheels ? Have done a bit of internet searching but would prefer a recommended. Failing that it may be a choice between aftermarket alloys or complete respray of the current ones. Hmmmm what colour goes well with anthracite paint ?

Can't see you having any problems getting them replaced as I had three wheels replaced on my Scout due to the dreaded delam problem. Get it done before the warranty expires though as I've got another with the same problem, not sure if it's one of the newer wheels or the one that wasn't changed, but they won't replace it as the car is now 4 months past the warranty expiry date.

Wrong time....wrong plaice....

Just out of interest, for those who may have to travel, can you do it in one day ?

Thanks for all the replies, I had my first 3 replaced based on the info from here. Shame the 4th didn't go until after the warranty ran out. Has anyone considered aftermarket wheels ? Seems there's some quite nice ones at WheelBase who are advertising on here....

Just noticed my boot badge is going white too, on a car just over three years old !!!

Have already had three of the wheels replaced and have just found it outside of the warranty period. Not sure they'll go for replacing it now although it is worth a go I suppose. Anyone know how much an alloy is just out of interest ? Maybe they'll go 50/50.......

Have had what looks like a stone take the top surface off one of my scout wheels hence there's now some underlying corrosion starting to appear. Has anyone got a tip for repairing this or done a repair in the past ? i'm quite keen to prevent it from getting worse as scout wheels seem to be quite fragile as it is ?

Has anyone actually fitted aftermarket alloys to a Scout ? I've seen quite reasonably priced 17s floating around on the net....

Had the same prob on mine and had 3 replaced......sod's law though, 2 months out of warranty and the one they didn't replace is corroding...

Using Kuhmo's on mine, seem ok and were £91 a corner fitted....

Horton Skoda have quoted me £45 for a brake fluid change and £295 for the cambelt on my Scout. My last variable service was about £190 ish.

Have two turbo's on mine so far in only 30k. Thank god for the warranty as each replacement had a bill for £1700. Praying everything is ok now as the car's just out of warranty and I don't fancy paying for another. Mind you the Teves 60 unit seems to be causing bigger problems on here.

Had the police try to do me for being on my mobile phone when I wasn't. Followed me for about half a mile through a village before he pulled me after alledgedly spotting me on it when he was travelling in the opposite direction ( he had to turn around to come after me ). Never checked the phone's call log even though I offered; said that there was no point as I'd probably deleted the call. Asked him check with the provider but he again refused. Wanted me surrender my licence there and then for endorsment, £60 fine, etc. Anyway I refused to give him my licence and did again at the station when giving them my docs for the obligatory once over. Took it court and walked away with no convictions, endorsments etc... Took about 6 months from start to finish but got the result I wanted as I was furious about the whole incident and they way I was treated. I often wonder how many drivers get into the same situation and decide against the whole court route as they feel they'll lose and just take the hit instead.

Try having the police do you for being on your mobile when it was wasn't anywhere near you........

Have had 2 turbo's so far, car has done 29k.

Mine still stank after 8500 miles, worried me too for a bit until I sussed it was the exhaust / dpf burn off. Burning smell at the rear of the car, more noticeable when I was getting stuff out of the boot, plus the usual ''ting ting ting'' from the exhaust. Not as noticeable nowadays with almost 30k on the clock.

One click down on the wiper stalk I believe ( away from the auto set ), I could be wrong but it seems to be the way mine operate.

New turbo fitted and all is well. Hope this one lasts longer than 12k as the warranty expires in Nov. Thanks to Horton Skoda who did the job no quibbles, changed some alarm sensors too.

On it's second turbo already.....

It's got 27k on the clock and is about to go in for another turbo replacement so will pass the white smoke issue to them ( just gets better ).... thanks for the comments.

Has anyone had white smoke from their exhaust. Coming through town yesterday I had a big dip in power followed by a big cloud of white smoke ( observed from my rear view mirror ). I normally associate white smoke with oil but the levels seem ok. Drive back home had no further instances of this and the car seemed to behave, no warning lights etc...
