  1. The 1.6 engine did have some injector issues. Perhaps stick with the 1.9 latest you can get is around 2009 I believe. Or a 2lt CR. However with 1.9 you have no DPF or EGR complexity with cooler etc to worry about, simpler on PD
  2. Glad you got it sorted. I broke one of the small screws once turned the head snapped off. It’s still held in okay despite all the damage the mirror casing etc took.
  3. No dash warnings at all. I believe they are not monitored. I already had the drivers door loom replaced a few years ago.
  4. Some instructions from this site maybe search thread yourself. A slight correction to the procedure I described above: I've just had to do this job on my 2013 Superb Elegance estate, it is a very fiddly procedure: Remove the mirror glass, disconnect the heating element wires. Remove the downlighter bulb. Remove the 2 Torx head machine screws. Remove the 2 Torx head self tapping screw securing the top half of the mirror housing and the two catches, then gently lever up the top half and remove it. Unclip and remove the bottom half, with the repeater light unit still attached. Remove the 2 Torx head self tappers holding the downlighter bulb holder and remove it to expose the screws securing the repeater unit. Remove the 2 Torx head self tappers attaching the repeater unit to the bottom half of the mirror housing and disconnect the wiring block from the light unit. All the Torx screws are T10. Replacement is the exact reverse, be careful not to trap the wires leading to the repeater and the heated mirror.
  5. My drivers side just died I bought some led dynamic ones the power connection does not fit so intermittently work. For one I know the original genuine was faulty if new one works. There are some write ups here and also these are the same I believe as the FL Octavia door mirrors. The standard ones are very expensive to buy hence me going dynamic as they cost a lot less for 2. Be careful it’s very brittle for me on a 2011 superb and I broke a few plastic clips.
  6. If it’s a DSG, change DSG stat on the gearbox
  7. First stat to replace when temp fluctuates is DSG stat. Read people’s write ups on here
  8. Maybe strip otherwise a runner about £500-700 with an MOT
  9. It depends on miles history and mainly condition. 12 months mot makes it more desirable. Why not post an advert in here and offer it to a more targeted audience?
  10. Yep I have a 16” steel spare with the same note on it and running 18” alloys from factory. Does make you think why you can’t go quicker with a full sizes spare but as @Ootoheresays there are many factors to consider.
  11. It’s likely there is a metal crash bar behind that area and the bumper may have moved with it since the impact. Not an expert. When I did this hot water trick on a Toyota it was all plastic in the area
  12. Hello all Sorry to admins, as I wanted a good reach. I tried to fit some eBay dynamic mirror indicators since my drivers standard one had stopped working. I saved some instructions from here some time ago, they were very useful. During the process I snapped a screw holding the mirror casing to the metal behind and one tab from the mirror housing plus one from the indicator. Unfortunately the connector to the new indicators will not allow the factory connector to sit deep enough so the indicator operates intermittently. Suppose this is what you get for Chinese products. I would therefore like to put the drivers one back to factory if anyone has one about. Given the age and brittle nature of my car I would rather not mess with the passenger side now. I believe the FL Octavia has the same part 3TO.949.10 made in China and they have LEDs in them listed as 13.5v 1.7w where power connector goes. Thanks in advance.
  13. Ditto happened on my superb 2 was intermittent also until speed/abs sensor and hub/bearing replaced.
  14. Check the starting car main battery can cause electrical gremlins.
  15. That’s very good of you to just swap. Would be the full seats for me only, whilst my black and white seats are very good they are hard to keep clean hence why I cover them all. Leather is so much easier to keep clean IMO. I actually have my fingers crossed for your MOT result Jimbo, would be great to keep this one on the road.
  16. Glad to hear it’s got a new home. Did it stay in the Brisky family? are they going to keep it as standard as you had, or mod to bits?
  17. Disconnect the battery for half an hour see if that helps. But the above are also valid points in those posts
  18. Glad you have it back to how it should be. Happy motoring. These 1.9s go on for ages. Rust was the only enemy I had at 250k onwards. Had a hard motorway life. If you can protect underneath do it.
  19. Get wheels on balancer at a different garage to usual. Before removing weights to see if anything out
  20. Wait for someone more knowledgeable but calipers and carriers and disks. There is a sticky on this forum by Ross I think.
  21. Start with a new battery only £85 delivered for a 096XD heavy duty from advanced battery services site.
  22. Cars are being broken all the time. Facebook is one place and eBay. If it’s a hatch doors from say cars maybe compatible also. One word of warning if it’s a facelift or pre-facelift the wiring loom will likely be different as I found, 3 connector blocks or 2. The only thing is if you have manual or electric rear windows which the vRS did not get installed electric.
  23. 170 I don’t think you will miss the furby power, think this is plenty for the large car. I have both an S2 and a vRS furby both fun in their own right. The boot and rear leg room is huge. For me the S2 and furby always need something doing. In contrast my Octy 2 was the best for build quality and reliability. This forum is really a great source of info. Good luck and happy motoring
  24. Looks lovely from the pictures. Welcome to the S2 family. What is this a TSI or TDI, BHP, Manual or DSG. Those alloys look like the SE 17”. Will be a lot more comfy than factory 18” best compromise of comfort and looks IMHO How many miles ? Columbus nav @pab567 can help possibly I am surprised the boat is more economical than the vRS furby diesel I don’t think I can help with any of your issues but I believe that blue tinted glass is very expensive, if that’s what you have fitted?
