  1. Thanks, lovely car Please post dates/photos and mileages here for all to see also ? I found your other advert and DCC is fitted No sunroof or glass roof, right ?
  2. Could you confirm 19” wheels. What has been towed? What date and mileages for servicing? Is that some sort of iPad holder under the headrests? DCC shocks or standard? Thanks
  3. Whichever wheel is logging the faulty speed sensor issue it’s likely that hub/bearing has rust. Change it and fault should go. edit you say you have changed the bearings already?
  4. Thanks for that. I am in with a fighting chance they might be correct as they are genuine refurbished ones have Lucas type markings on them and auction lists for Fabia vRS and in a close shade of green.
  5. I have a pair from SSL Autoparts eBay, were yours the same, so I can ask my mechanic to take a close look at this when fitting mine. I don’t have a vernier caliper to measure mine.
  6. @johnthomas99 where did you get them from. I have a couple waiting to be fitted myself
  7. ET50 6.5J 1ZO 601 025B 5x112 This was purchased as a spare and I never used it. Now car sold is surplus to requirements. I would class the refurb as 9-9.5/10 there are some odd storage marks and places where the pre refurb finish is not perfect. Nothing that you would see without being really close up. it’s shod with used Nordexx Stratus 205/55/16 91W tyre. 5-6mm of tread. No real cracking as it’s never been fitted to the car since purchase. Still full of air after years of storage. £55. Currently located in Walsall WS5. given time I can get it to WV11,CV3 or LU2 or somewhere along M6 south to Luton M1 with prior agreement and fuel tokens.
  8. Any links to this sump Plug kit preferred supplier have 3 cars could save a bit ?
  9. Paint pen I gotcha, explains why you do it too. I end up supplying a sump nut and washer every service those £5 odd all add up when you have done about 23 oil changes just on 1 car!
  10. Good job Trev. Are you marking every thing you tighten with some kind of marker/paint? If you reuse the sump plug does the washer have to be changed every time ?
  11. Trust me it should not get to the stage where the car is being lifted by you using the jack on your wrench. If so stop immediately when you feel that happening. Otherwise borrow an impact wench cordless/corded. I did that once, drove to my mechanic with it’s the front caliper sticking to release the front carrier bolt, made it look so easy with that tool.
  12. Have you tried jacking car up. Then using another trolley jack on your rachet/bar to crack it open. I did this once worked a treat when someone suggested this out of the box thinking.
  13. The weather is perfect for a yellow furby to appear on the roads Matt. Hope to see it at Skodafest.
  14. gav_is_con replied to a post in a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk2 (2004 - 2013)
They might be L&K wheels or sport wheels as opposed to SE. 16” the best compromise for comfort and cost. I have a set of pre-FL vega wheels on the forum classifieds if interested
  15. Nice one. Anything else of interest you got your eyes on ?
  16. Available on eBay very cheap for a pair. I have done the hatch version. They were mega strong compared to the old ones. Key is to measure the old I believe.
  17. Care to share a link @TasMan? they are the same for FL and pre-FL from what I read on another post shared here.
  18. An apparent gotcha is the back mirror cover is held on by screws so cannot be simply prised off.
  19. Hello all. Following a scan for error codes i discovered I have a drivers door mirror indicator out. No idea when it went as no dash warning. Had me thinking looking at the price of a single , how about a replacement set of dynamic indicator strips in the mirrors. Has anyone had any luck with Ali Express type products. I have never purchased anything from them before, any pointers using the site? Any links to previous purchases if that’s how it works? The car is a S2 estate 2011 mirrors maybe similar to Octy 2 facelift perhaps?
  20. **SOLD** Now my Octy has gone after 15 years of good service to another owner. I have a set of 5 Vega alloys to go, made by Ronal These pictures taken today. IMHO they could do with a refurb. I was running them through winter. front and backs of all hopefully attached to post. ET50 6.5J 1ZO 601 025B 5x112 I will happily take to Skodafest at the end of May for collection. £70 takes them.
  21. I am about to list these if interested they came standard on a circa 2005 Octavia elegance known as Vega, I believe
  22. The 130 engine is something else entirely compared to the 105. I have the Octy and a Fabia vRS. The furby does not run out of breath like the Octy does but the Octy is no slouch. I believe it’s pot luck with a DSG, make sure it’s had an oil and filter every 38-40k as scheduled on the older wet clutch boxes like these. Cambelt wise it’s 4 years and about 80k whichever comes sooner I think. Not sure if the latest VAG advice to leave for longer applies on the older cars.
  23. On as in flashing or just stuck on. Sounds all much like an American side light thing to me. If you then use your indicators to turn left or right do they work okay then ?
  24. I know the electric struts are off. Do you have that annoying bleep when you press the open button from inside? Martin @Gizmo disabled mine, added close from internal button and enabled MPH large display, plus extend the headlight wash interval at Cosford many years back.
