  1. As MicMac said - sealed I'm afraid. I ran nightbreaker too and they seemed a reasonable step up from standard. LEDs get very mixed reviews, I guess you get what you pay for.
  2. Not that I can see. Back to plan A of ignoring it!
  3. An interesting read. Can I ask why you went for the 60 not the 90? I very nearly went for the 90 instead of the Superb, but couldn't find one in the spec I was after. Looked very nice though..
  4. Err, no, I didn't realise that. How!?
  5. Agreed! I can live without comfort indicators, shut my own boot, adjust my own drivers mirror, store the key in a handy hole in the steering column, etc etc. As you say, progress...
  6. Same as above for mine. The Columbus doesn't boot especially quickly, but it's not several minutes and doesn't remain blank. I'm not sure if data on the disk drive will slow it down - mine is empty.
  7. Spend money!? I take your point though. Assuming that it's a Gentex type electrochromic system I guess I could just cut one of the wires, but that's a bit permanent. The most likely thing seems to be that I'll just live with it.
  8. As per title really; after a search here and even reading the manual I’ve not come across away of manually adjusting the tint of the mirror. The reason for asking is that I find the combination of tinted glass and tinted mirror too dark so would like to “untint” the mirror. All thoughts appreciated.
  9. Good luck, I get twitchy about "snap fit" parts too. Being of a nosey disposition I've got to ask; why are you removing it?
  10. My octavia used to do this. I found slipping the clutch to warn up the plates really helped.
  11. I got mine from superskoda: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Smart-holder-original-Skoda-Autoas-product As said above, if you have a square hole appox 1" then it's the same.
  12. I toyed with these 2 options too. From memory the Kodiaq is wider, but shorter (and of course taller) with the Superb having more rear leg room. Surprisingly the Kodiaq was listed as having a bigger boot, but both are huge. A fairly major consideration for me was that second hand the Superb tended to be cheaper and better equipped (in particular I wanted adaptive cruise, also for long journeys), looking new there doesn’t seem to be much in it. As you say the running costs on the Superb should be lower. Ride wise I don’t recall much difference to be honest (both like a pillow compared to the VRS)
  13. It's all a matter of individual choice and needs. In my case: Virtual cockpit - I've got it and after an initial play set it to tacho and speedo. If it could display google maps it may be different, but it can't so I ignore it. Spare wheel - I don't like tyre gunk, so a must for me. Variable floor - sorry, not got it. Wasn't particularly bothered either. USB -didn't even know that was an option! In the Octavia running a cable from the fusebox was easy, not sure with the Superb Tow bar - have got it, and love it. Searching around on here I came to the conclusion that the OEM option wasn't over priced and as SashaGrace said, nicely integrated. Parcel shelf - as SashaGrace said. In mine the 1/2 way retract is there as standard, so I assume it will be the same for you. Rear camera - not got one. Will have to get one - the estate is a big thing in Tesco..... Lock down means I'm not driving much so not such an issue here and now. Heated screen - I believe its a thin conductive oxide, so no wiggly tungsten wire as in the Land Rover/ Ford/ Mini models. A nice to have, and is infra-red reflective in summer, but the heater is pretty good and even the petrol has a supplementary (electric) heater so hot air within a couple of minutes.
  14. I'd completely agree with the above comment for the transmission tunnel. I was about to recommended ambassador mats in Standish (they were great in the vrs), but a quick Google tells me that, alas, they are no more. If you're getting the transmission mat you may as well get it and the others from superskoda at the same time.
  15. Something rattles in mine, but I'm not 100% sure what. I did discover that the flap can sit behind the seat instead of on top - I think that helped
  16. I've got (black) supanovas on mine with (boring) grey bodywork and I've decided I prefer them to silver. Certainly easier to keep looking clean. I'm looking at those red calipers now though and I'm getting ideas....
  17. I'd echo the reversing camera. I've not got one and want it badly! At least it can be retro fitted.
  18. As another recent purchaser I thought I'd lob my thought process in here too. Like Norco I was coming from a vRS (freakily also a 10 plate). I did look at other cars, but the vRS had been a very good family motor for the last decade, so Skoda had a head start. I didn’t want an SUV, so it was down to another Octavia or a Superb. If I got an Octavia I just know it would have been another vRS, but the reality was that I’m now a dad and lugging bikes etc around in comfort is more important than a sharp turn in – Superb it was then. Having mentioned bikes, we had them on the roof for trips to Center Parcs etc and with a hatch the roofbar fitting went past a door seal which inevitably slightly leaked when raining. So I was after an estate. Prior to Covid at least, I only did short trips to work, so I wanted a petrol. I looked at the stats for a 1.5 as well as both 2 litres and decided that coming from a vRS it had to be a 2.0. Estate 280’s are like hens teeth, so I’ve had to settle on a 190. By every objective measure it’s fine, and more economical than the vRS, but I still hanker after a bit more “pep”. Spec wise I really wasn’t fussed between SEL to L&K, but a sportline came up locally and that was that. The particular one I bought had a towbar which is great and I use it for the bikes, so with the befit of hindsight a hatch with a towbar would have been just as useful, but by that stage I’d decided on estate. It’s absolutely brilliant on a motorway, but it’s a big car so town driving is as you’d expect. My better half has driven it, and it was fine for controls, seating etc, but as with town driving it ain’t small and she wasn’t thrilled at the prospect of parking. As a final comment, others on here haven’t been too impressed with the suspension. I’m the opposite, it still feels a bit under damped compared to a Primera eGT I once had, but seems better than the vRS and generally more composed without even rattling your teeth!
  19. That made me snort! I think you need to be a particular age though!
  20. I got 42 (reported) on a run back from Cornwall with 3 bikes on the back. 70 was probably the max. 44 was the number I got without bikes on another motorway run, but 70ish that time. I though it may be more but its all good coming from a petrol vrs. It also does surprisingly well on short runs, that said, its currently sat on the drive and I'm using the LEAF as its much cheeper to run
  21. Snap. The door and boot glass is made by Saint Gobain whereas AGC has the quarters so I can understand that difference (although I think it's poor form by skoda). The boot does look lighter, but on the Saint Gobain website the light transmission for tinted glass jumps from 15 to 35 and don't think the change is that much.
  22. I'm beginning to regret not holding out for a 280! I think DCC is standard. Not sure about flappy paddles, but my experience thus far is to leave the gearbox to sort itself (or flick the leaver across into manual, even if up and down are the 'wrong' way round) .
  23. Sorry, no. Can the internet time machine help? :- https://archive.org/web/
  24. I've a few brochures that may be of use, one from Nov '17, one from Jan '18 and a final one from July '18. I've also got some from '19 if needed (I was toying with buying a Superb for entirely too long...) 11-17 superb_pricing_specs.pdf 1-18 superb_pricing_specs.pdf 7-18 superb_pricing_specs.pdf
