  1. What digital TV standard is in use in Norway, it you are using DVBT like the rest of europe (Exc. Eire) then it should work, if Norway went MPEG4 then unlikely. Eire went with MPEG4 which severely limits the available hardware.
  2. I've not been to the dentist for more years than I can remember, think it was when I was 16. This year I am 49 years old, and the old teeth and gums have given me no trouble at all.
  3. Attempted to change the front discs and pads this evening, the ones currently on there are crusty around the edges and have had uneven pad contact for sometime. So, new genuine discs and pads sourced direct from Volvo. However not all went to plan, I got the calliper off and the old pads out but could not budge the carrier retaining bolts using what I have at home. So I've reassembled it all, and will let someone who has the right tools do the job. in other news, next weekend with or without the pad change I am taking the Volvo to France for the annual holiday.
  4. You need to connect the LNB directly to the Sky box, and then you can use the RF out to feed out to other boxes. You could use the scart output if the sky box has it to remove the tv tuner requirement.
  5. Changine brand is not always a reason to leave, we have many members who are still active and no longer own a Skoda.
  6. The original poster of this thread has not been on Briskoda for nearly 12 months and there have been multiple requests since the last visit that have gone unanswered.
  7. I've decided that I'll go to the Charlton Inn on Thursday 26th and see if anyone turns up. Thursday is the only day I can make, Wednesday is already booked, Monday and Tuesday I am working late and Friday I am driving back up to the north of London. So Thursday I'll most likely be billy no mates at the Charlton Inn.
  8. Depends on the module, some require the phone to be paired using the maxidot and wiper stalk controls before it will show in the columbus. Press and hold the button on the bottom of the wiper stalk, select phone and go from there.
  9. Correct, but its still a claim you'd have to declare for the next five years and it will bring a loaded premium along with it.
  10. I don't know, I can't do Friday, I'll be driving 150 miles that evening.
  11. I think we need to have one, if only to keep up momentum. is Jose back yet?
  12. So are we going to meet this coming Thursday instead? 26th May.
  13. Reviews are not to great either, 1.6 stars out of 5 on reviewcentre. http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews127078.html Muddy footprints seem to be a common theme.
  14. Update time. Had service carried out by main Audi dealer in Poole and car was given a clean bill of health. New rear tyres going on tomorrow, Kumho being replaced by Dunlop £160 each fitted. Now on 152K miles, she has hardly done any miles since March. So little that I need to put a charger on the battery every couple of weeks to put back in what I have taken out with short journeys.
  15. S60 still running well. Broken coil spring now replaced with second hand part, done more mileage in this car than I would have liked. Tyres now holding air, no loss to report in 4 weeks. Discovered that if you go full throttle that as the revs build up I seem to get more black smoke than I would like out the back, maybe a consequence of this car being Euro 3 and not having a DPF. Taking it to France in a few weeks, that will be a big test....
  16. Most phones these days tend to need a 2.1amp USB charger, otherwise you may find if using the device then despite being plugged in the battery continues to run down. For example, if I use Tomtom on my phone with a low output USB lighter socket then I can start the journey on 100% and an hour or so later end up with less juice despite being plugged in. Not all USB lighter chargers have the stated output, some have been proven to be less, especially at the cheaper end of the range.
  17. Had one on my 2005 Elegance Mk2, it was perfect for an umbrella.
  18. Take the drive, it'll be worth it. Overnight somewhere on the Norfolk coast before heading home.
  19. There are some videos in this thread. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/283590-hard-and-soft-cut-limiter/ Apart from noise on the limiter there is little point. Oh and the extra wear on the drivetrain and turbo.
  20. Coding a used cluster is not a simple job, as mentioned Eddie is your man. As far as I am aware he is the only member who can help which is why a lot of members travel far and wide to visit him. The keys need pairing, the main ECU needs pairing to the cluster, the coding from the old cluster needs to be transferred to the new and then the mileage discrepancy will need correcting. None of this can be done with VCDS on its own because chances are you do not have the SKC PIN codes for both clusters (existing and new maxidot). If you have both sets of SKC PIN codes then all except the mileage can be done with VCDS but you'll need the full adaptation map and coding for your existing cluster so they can be manually entered into the new one. Then you'll have a cluster which although working will be displaying the mileage of the original car it was removed from.
  21. can't remember the last time I sent a picture message and this maybe why they are bumping the price. A) to keep up with everyone else), and B. because nobody is using them and they still need to make some money out of the messages.
  22. They don't seem to make HID's like they used to, my Audi A8 is still on the original Xenon bulbs and the car is 12 years old. The light output is good, but they do take slightly longer now to get to the correct colour temperature (4300K by the way). My previous Audi was 15 years old when I sold it, and again was still on its original bulbs. My Volvo with Halogens has very yellow output by comparison.
  23. If you have air conditioning and it is switched on, then the fan will run from the moment you turn the key. if you turn off the AC then the fan should stop until required to cool the engine. It runs with the AC to cool the condenser otherwise you would not get cold air in the cabin for very long.
  24. Are we rescheduling? Quiet happy to move to next week if needed.
  25. I will as well, given that I am missing the next one. We need more members in Dorset.
