  1. Well after a few months off and hopefully the last of the Christmas Turkey eaten its time to schedule another meet in the Blandford Area. Having spoke with Jose today, we both thought it a good idea to get up to speed again. Same venue as always. Any VCDS requirements, let us know as there is usually at least one with a copy  Exact location - http://www.thecharlt....co.uk/#contact The Charlton Inn Bournemouth Road Charlton Marshall Blandford Forum Dorset DT11 9NH Start time - 6.30pm, however as I'm sure this will be a stretch for many to get to after work, feel free to roll in anytime after this. We'll eat at 7'ish so no rush. Come on down and enjoy an evening of good food and company :)
  2. I am partially involved with card payments for where I work, and how card data is validated. Each bank is allocated a series of numbers (the first 4 digits) which is first checked against a known list of issued series. On our system these are only updated quarterly, so its possible for cards from a newly issued series to be rejected even though the rest is correct. If the car is an new card this could be why, or they may have simply decided that cards issued by an Indian bank are a risk and decided not accept them. Not all Visa/Mastercards etc. are accepted everywhere online. For example I cannot pay online using my UK issued card to top-up my Spanish Orange mobile phone, and have to send bank transfers to Spain so a relative can pay.
  3. if the file is a .zip file then just right click on it and select "Extract All" Windows 7 upwards can extract and create .zip files without the need for third party tools.
  4. The entry level model at £5995 is very basic though, you don't even get a radio of any sort and get a dual slot cubby hole instead. Although it does come pre wired should you decide to fit an aftermarket unit. • 15'' Tarkine wheel trims • Black bumpers • Black door handles • Black door mirrors Interior Features • Black air vent surrounds • Black central console surround • Upholstery - Black Cerite cloth • Black Door Handles (Front and Rear) Visibility and Exterior Lighting • Door mirrors - manually-adjustable Comfort and Convenience • 60/40 split folding rear seat (seatback only split) • Manual front windows • Manual rear windows Communication and Connectivity • Pre-wiring for accessory-fit radio and speaker system
  5. I can't believe its been 5 months since I fitted the digital TV tuner, so time for another quickie update on the Audi I've now owned this car for more than 3 years, and to be honest its been a fantastic drive in all this time and its heading towards the longest owned car since the MK1 Octy vRS. The Audi has now done just over 155K miles so its done just 3K miles since May, I really need to drive it more.. For example in the last 4 weeks its done about 30 miles, but I did drive it 400 miles one weekend in November, and over christmas week it will do another 500 or so. Apart from that, nothing to report really, I replaced the coolant expansion reservoir as the return pipe split open but that it really.
  6. Another update Thanks to updown789 for the inhibitor the battery repair is holding and no more electrical issues at all, well except the front fogs not working but they never have. The S60 has now well past 170K miles and heading for 171K, however its now developed a knocking noise from the nearside front suspension which I am hoping is simply worn drop links as opposed to the lower arm. The knock is only present under braking, acceleration and when driving on bad surfaces like the hole ridden farm track down to the house, it perfectly quiet on the motorway and round town. MOT will need to be done in Feb 2017, and I'll have owned it for a year shortly after.
  7. The code should be stored in the cars ECU hence no code, there is a procedure for getting the radio working following a SAFE lockout. Usually goes along the line of, switch on ignition, do NOT start engine, switch on radio and wait a few minutes for the code to be sent to the radio and you should get sound.
  8. if the vRS springs did not lower your car, are you sure your car is not already on sports suspension which was a factory option on the MK2. if your on sports suspension then you need to subtract about 25mm from the quoted figures because the vRS and cars with Sports suspension are lower than standard by about this amount.
  9. The Chinese market for Skoda has always been very different, partly because the market is more demanding. You could even buy an Octavia Saloon (sedan) which was not available anywhere else, or even the pre facelift Superb MK2 with LED rear lights that were not available anywhere else.
  10. The Rapid Spaceback and Rapid both have current brochures available to download from Skoda.co.uk, they are marketed as separate products so maybe you just got the Spaceback ones.
  11. Watched with interest because my brothers oldest takes part in Karting through his school. I've spent several Saturdays this year track side helping out both fixing and altering the kart between races. http://www.natska.co.uk The parents pay a fee per term, and £45 per race which covers everything, and they are very strict with the regulations. He is currently racing in a school provided Tony Kart, which at the last event was going really well and he was second during one of his three races until a back marker spun out just in front and took both him and several others out.
  12. I think the problem here is the audio source, so using Spotify and Bluetooth will never get the best out of the upgraded sound system. Heavily compressed Spotify music which is then streamed over a lossy BT audio connection are reducing the audio quality twice. In fact it could sound worse as the Canton will highlight any deficiencies in the audio compression which cheaper systems may mask through cheaper components and filters. Play some lossless music (FLAC, ALAC) directly from a memory stick, SD card or HDD and the difference should be very noticeable between standard and Canton.
  13. I truly hope that none of our members have been effected by yesterdays and the Earthquake last night. I know we have a number of members from NZ, but not sure if they are from South Island or North although saying that Wellington has been effected by these recent quakes. My thoughts are with you down there, especially given that there has been confirmed loss of life.
  14. Buy them new from the dealer, they are not that expensive.
  15. Only problem is I guess the rest of the range will end up with that face when they are all facelifted. I guess this is the new corporate image.
  16. The engine oil takes significantly longer to get up to temperature than the coolant, so whilst the temperature gauge gets to 90c relatively quickly the oil temperature is still well down at that point. I had an old Audi that had both oil and water temp gauges and the oil really struggled to temperature at town speeds, but once on the motorway it rose quickly.
  17. I am guessing google translate has been used. I am guessing the original poster is having difficulty with the 2009 Fabia and Canbus but that is all I can work out. We know what has been purchased but as the text is all in Arabic I cannot work out what the headunit supports. Remembering that pre facelift MK2 Fabia only had a basic canbus compared to the facelift.
  18. You'll find them come and go, especially as most (if not all) are providing links to copyright material and VAG go after them to get the sites closed down once they are found. Some survive a while whilst some are short lived. You can find the same info legally from the official source, although you do have to pay to access the site. Once in, download as much as you can whilst you have access so you've got it to hand. https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do;jsessionid=F2291D4310719C1B36F8B8E6B2CB1EF0.ASTPERWEU01
  19. A pensioner does not qualify looking at the requirements. You can usually get BT Basic if you are claiming one of these benefits: Income Support Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance Pensions Credit (Guaranteed Credit) Employment and Support Allowance (Income related) Universal Credit (and are on zero earnings). You must be the named account holder to apply.
  20. Moved from projects section to general Octy MK1 forum for more attention.
  21. The Xenon bulbs in my 2004 Audi are 12 years old and 155K miles on the car are still working, but they have lost some of their efficiency and take slightly longer to reach the correct colour temperature. Replacement on mine is difficult as the whole front of the car needs to come off to get access to the lower screws. As Xenons age they tend to edge towards the blue purple colour temperature, so in the case of the OP its possible the bluey coloured one is the one ageing the fastest. OEM are 4300K on the Audi at least. My previous Audi was still using its original bulbs at 15 years old and 190K miles on the clock.
  22. The problem is the phone and not the car, all the car does is search for the last device it was connected to, it discovered yours and your phone authorised and made the connection. The problem is your handset was still discoverable despite being already connected to another device.
