  1. Yep, sounds like the dash cluster isn't coded correctly.
  2. So the bigger question is has the sheer plate failed due to the screw coming loose and the splines rounding off, or has the sheer plate failed as it was designed to because the compressor has failed? Until this question is answered, you can't say what repair is required.
  3. Sheer plate is not the same as a clutch.
  4. They are indeed.
  5. To be fair I thought it was a very diplomatic way to ask for conformation of something he suspected. Before telling you that you were incorrect in this instance he wanted to be sure. And indeed, in this case your advice was irrelevant as it's a different EGR system.
  6. 3-4 if memory serves
  7. You are correct. the EGR is under the DPF on the back of the engine. The combined EGR valve and cooler units have a whole array of different failure modes compared to the EGR units that are mounted to the front of the engine.
  8. Few more updates on the project... Made some shifter cable bracket bush replacements up, still not 100% sure why, just felt like a cool thing to do. Originally I had this running on a hybrid Ibiza/Fabia wiring harness, but I had decided (for a few reasons) to go full Ibiza and adapt to Fabia components where required. So out comes the dash (again). Crash bar out of the way, heater box out. Replaced the heater matrix on the Ibiza heater box, just as a precaution. Adapted the inlet an outlet with the 1.2/1/4 petrol adapter. Means you haven't got to deal with the crappy aluminium connection of the big block engines. Climatronic heater box lined up. All being well dome real progress being made this weekend, depends on how bloomin cold it is.
  9. loads on eBay. And you are right, rather than make a new diagram they have flipped it. To me it would have made more sense to keep the pipes in their functional positions. So the turbo outlet is the turbo outlet.
  10. Your one probably looks like this.....
  11. exactly, that’s not the diagram you are looking at. However the EKTA diagrams are the same between the BKC/BXE and the BMM and BMN, with caveats. So the diagram doesn't represent your engine exactly. It even says on the part descriptions to match the numbers with the OE part.
  12. I’m 99.9% sure that’s not the right diagram for a BMM. But looking on a phone which isn’t the best.

  14. 13 is the one that goes into the turbo, 7 goes onto the throttle body.
  15. SRS (airbag) is not an OBD system. The Generic OBD systems are limited to engine/transmission/brakes. These are made generic so for legal reasons the authorities can read DTC information regardless of which vehicle. But manufacturer specific modules such as Airbag, Infotainment, comfort systems etc. will use a unique address and language that an OBS reader won't see or understand.
  16. interesting as the input is set in the coding of the cluster 🤔
  17. ABS converted from Bosch 5.7 to 8.0 heat protection for brake and clutch lines
  18. Bit of a mix, some are the same, some slightly different (but easy enough to re-pin). Headlamps is a good example, exatly the same plug but some of the wires are mixed up, lord knows why.
  19. SEAT wiring loom and ECU. The easiest way to do it is to build the Ibiza in the Fabia shell.
  20. Change the engine oil (and filter) too.
  21. Wiring harness is being swapped over with one I have remade deleting all the surplus waffle. Brake pipes are all still there, bagged the ABS unit for protection although I need to swap it over for the later type which I have upstairs. Mounting brackets to be refurbished of course.
