  1. This is a brilliant gizmo. I too have been trying to find it.Thanks for asking
  2. Even before my car had the dealer download the reversing sensors did not detect the detachable swan neck even when the towball was in position ready for use.So a fixed Westfalia will be okay except when towing as already noted .
  3. Who says VW is expensive New VW hub caps as specified by Johann are £6.10 + vat each whereas £14.99 + £5.50 postage is being asked for a single second hand one on eechbay. Thanks again Johann!! John
  4. Johann - Are the Caddy centre hub caps the ones which fit mytyres steel rims. I think that this is what you found out but can't find find the post :0(
  5. Not quite in the same league as your delivery but my winter tyres arrived this morning a week before estimated delivery date.!! Hope you enjoy Yorkie as much as I am enjoying my tyres
  6. My first winter tyre arrived this morning. All I need is a temperature drop of 20 degrees to use it.
  7. My local dealer rang after a year and mentioned annual service. I explained it was on variable with 8600 miles and/or a year to go. The dealer simply expressed surprise and said hope to see you at the appropriate time. Most of our town driving is done in our Fabia and six months later with 15000 miles on the clock - still over 3000 to go on Maxidot - I rang up and got Yeti serviced. The choice was made simply because being an old fogey I have not quite got the concept of long life oil. Depends on how the individual feels I suppose.
  8. Thanks Graham for filling in for my detachable memory
  9. Certainly keeps an air of mystery to deter others from interfering
  10. I have a Westfalia detachable which is compatible with an Alko stabilizer 2001 vintage. Someone will be able to confirm if this applies to the more recent Alko stabilizer.
  11. After much huffing and puffing have just ordered Falken-Ohtsu 215/60/16 99H M & S marked winters on steel rims from mytyres. For my use these seem to be best balance of performance/price but what do I know. Assuming that it gets cold and wet and or snowy at some point I will report on the reality.
  12. Last winter used summer Pirelli P Zero 225 17R tyres with 2 sno socks for emergencies ( never used) I am about to order a set of steel rims with 215 16R winter tyres fitted. Seems to me that if you have to be out and about over a northern winter winter tyres make good sense.
  13. It is very easy to take off and even easier to replace new trim. Does look right with Gobi and Storm Blue. Should I keep the silver trim in case a buyer doesn't like the "wood"
  14. Ian If you look the paraphernalia many Club site users consider essential your question may be answered.:0) My 140 tows an Avondale Rialto 1160 KG laden with no problems whatsoever and gets 31 mpg as long as I don't go go above 60 thus avoiding The Wardrobe Effect. You will really love towing with 170 4x4
  15. Just makes a very quiet gentle mechanical whirr as it opens and closes If you have the roof fully open rather than in the comfort position there is an increase in wind noise. However it is certainly comfortable to cruise at motorway speeds in the comfort position. Depends I suppose on your sensitivity to the sound of rushing air at 70 mph.
  16. The frame into which the cover clicks is glued (bonded) to to the inside of the bumper to surround the hole. If you use the double sided tape on the frame it will only last one or two uses.:0( The cover will not work without it.
  17. The Skoda brand really is enhanced by Skoda presence in The Tour. A GREAT Tour. My Yeti is pretty good as well
  18. 13000miles and level 1/4 way down from top dipstick marker.
  19. At 13,000 miles with Pirelli P Zero. Changed front to back at around 10,000miles. Front now 5mm Rear 4mm. Guestimate life 22,000 ?? Will change all 4 together - probably not Pirelli again.
  20. Thanks Johann. Great info which is very useful. The appearance difference is a huge bonus !!
  21. The absence of a graphic on the screen when in reverse indicates "download" needed.
  22. A definitive reply would be very helpful as my March 2010 Yeti will be going for first service in a couple of months. To date the sun roof has not leaked. Thanks in advance.
  23. I would much rather have a modest few percent off a Yeti which is an absolutely wonderful car than 25% off a car that is otherwise unsaleable. No nominations please
  24. Many thanks Johann. Much less confused now..
