What external CD Drives can be used to play my CDs?
As well as our CD collection I have ripped all our vinyl and cassettes to MP3 using USB to cassette/vinyl gadgets from Lidl and software called Audacity So I have all our music (current and from the distant past (my oldest vinyl I purchased in 1963) on an SD card in our Octavia, my Windows PC, my MacBook and my iPhone - so I always have our entire music collection wherever I am without need for the internet (which as mobile phone coverage is patchy in north Devon is important unless you like long silences!).

What external CD Drives can be used to play my CDs?
I've got many thousand CDs all on one 256GB SD card that happily plays in my Octavia - I just started ripping my favourite CDs first and then did some more each time the weather was rubbish and now just transfer each CD as I buy it. You don't have to miss out on the cover artwork as you can include the artwork in the MP3 files and the Octavia infotainment shows the artwork. BTW the real problem with CD drives is that most of them take more current than a single USB socket can provide, so finding one that will work (assuming it is supported which as Langers2K says is unlikely) is a case of trial and error.

Reversing Camera Retrofit
@SashaGrace Please can you recommend a camera that will fit the smaller boot lid hole (I've got a MIB1 Amundsen in an early 2015 Elegance estate)?

Winter tires
Those will be 1.75% larger in diameter than the OE size, since the recommendation is to stay within 2% I would be quite happy using those on my car (insurer willing) - of course, do it at your own risk

Aftermarket Front Sensors?
I've had Dolphin rear sensors fitted on my other car (Citroen C1) for around 8 years and they work perfectly.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
BBC South West are forecasting frost tonight (9th October) in Devon...

Rear tyres sawtoothing
My experience of PZeros is not the same - I had them as factory fitted on my previous car (Audi RS4) and found them to be terrible - so-so dry grip, awful wet grip, unpredictable handling and short life (9,000 miles where all the other tyres I used over 10 years had lives of at least 15,000 miles). IMHO the best tyres based on grip( wet & dry), secure handling, noise and life was Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

Cigarette Lighter Relacement
I suspect (but can't be 100% sure) that the thin blue wire is for illumination.

Turbo
On my 1.4TSI Octavia 3 the engine is very flat below 1500rpm and then "wakes up", so my guesstimate is also that you start to get positive turbo boost from 1500rpm.

Park Pilot and Park Assist
We had a front sensor fail on our 2015 Elegance with the same symptoms - fortunately it happened a month before the end of the 3 year warranty so we got it fixed under warranty (after arguing with Marshalls that it was covered under the warranty).

How delete phone book & phones when trading in
That explains why my Amundsen is basically unusable for many seconds every time I turn the ignition on while it downloads the entire contact list - on my previous VAG vehicles only the updates are downloaded so the transfer is much faster. Personally I would rather have the contacts stored in the infotainment.

PROPOSED 20 BLANKET LIMIT ON SCOTTISH ROADS
20mph zones don't have a good record at reducing accidents: Accidents in 20mph zones rise nearly 150% in three years Plus most ICE vehicles have to run in a lower gear producing higher emissions than running at 30mph in a higher gear - so all round the benefit of 20mph zones is very questionable.

Same here, used them several times with no problems.

OBD11 fuse coding
Almost certainly not, as the wiring to the unused fuse holder either won't be there or won't be connected to anything.

Map update, Help..
On the information screen look at the part number of the Amundsen - if it begins 5Q0 then you have a MIB2, if it begins 5E0 then you have a MIB1.

Sasha’s Octavia vRS
I use it almost every time we use car parks with pay & display tickets - it stops the ticket being blown away if it's windy when you have the drivers door open. I think all cars should have them.

Lane assist
Definitely NOT standard on all Mk3 Octavia, my 2015 Elegance doesn't have lane assist.

Map update, Help..
With an Amundsen you MUST use a Genuine Skoda SD card, a normal SD card will not work. Get yourself a second Skoda SD card off eBay (MUCH cheaper than from a dealer), make sure you get a 32GB with with a part number beginning 5L0.

Can SmartLink/CarPlay be activated
As I only have a MIB1 Amundsen which cannot be updated with software for CarPlay this is based on reading here .... the MIB2 units should be CarPlay compatible, it appearsyou only need a SwAP code to get it enabled as others have suggested? Others with more knowledge need to confirm...

Can SmartLink/CarPlay be activated
Your part number begins 5Q and your navigation database begins 5L - so you have a MIB2 Amundsen (running with 4 year old map data which you can update free online from the Skoda portal).

Water in front doors
Looks like the door seals on the Octavia IV have a similar issue too, or at least poor quality control since not all owners seem to have the problem?
