  1. But TMC is crossed out, which suggest it isn't picking up TMC? Don't confuse TA/TP with TMC. What changed on the car just before TMC stopped working?
  2. At a guess, because the tailgate is not fully latched closed so the operation (or lack of) of the hall sensor is not as important. Either way, that's the only fault being shown so you'll need to fix that.
  3. Maybe that's because nobody here has any feedback? ... because we don't agree with the concept of "ambulance chasing"?
  4. Like it says "Hall sensor in motor 2 for rear hatch Signal error" so either the wiring to the sensor has a break, the hall sensor has been knocked/moved or the hall sensor is faulty. Time to find where motor 2 is in the rear hatch and do some basic fault finding now that OBD11 has pointed you to the problem area.
  5. Is your FM station reception OK, and with good RDS (station information) OK? TMC is transmitted using extra signalling on some FM radio transmissions.
  6. If you haven't suffered any financial loss then you aren't entitled to any compensation for the loss that you haven't had - to claim otherwise could be taken as fraud. When have any lawyers been trustworthy?
  7. Hundreds of us have made changes to the setup of our cars using VCDS et al, I've been making changes to my VAG vehicles since 2003 and never had any comment or problem from dealers regarding affecting the warranty - I believe that others have the same experience. What's the legal position? Who knows as AFAIK there has not been a test case.
  8. Following that link and reading the table it says that the Octavia 3 dates for which it is OK are from 12/10 to 02/13? I didn't think the Octavia 3 was introduced until 2013? In the UK the MOT test will check that the headlamps are Type Approved for use with LED bulbs as well as Halogen, something that may still make use of these in the UK an MOT failure?
  9. I have a 2015 Octavia with a MIB1 Amundsen, I update the maps every 6 months so I'm currently running the 2020/2021 maps - and will update to the 2021 maps as soon as they become available.
  10. Be patient, @pab567will be along soon enough.
  11. Sounds to be like a low battery voltage problem not actually a brake problem. When I lived in Southampton I took our VAG vehicles (SWMBOs Skoda Fabia and my Audi RS4) to Abtech at Totton - was very happy with the prices, their honesty and their work.
  12. Where did you get the batteries from? The remotes in our cars seem to be very sensitive to the condition of the batteries, it seems only fresh new batteries of reputable manufacture have a sensible lifetime in the remotes.
  13. Several owners thought a catch can would be the "cure" for the 'alleged carbon problem' on my previous car (Audi B7 RS4) but all were disappointed with how little oil appeared in the catch can. BTW I say 'alleged carbon problem' because in all cases that reported back to owners websites the loss of power was traced to vacuum leaks, and when I sold mine after 10 years with 88,000 miles on the clock it had just been on a respected dyno and was still making over manufacturers spec bhp.
  14. Only at least £8195 out (£11,720 if you compare with the car pictured) The thing is that according to the Advertising Standards Authority it's NOT misrepresentation for a car company to show a vehicle in the video/picture that costs a LOT more than the price shown - I don't know anyone who agrees with that opinion who isn't employed by the ASA
  15. Text says "Octavia Hatch vRS", numberplate says "Octavia vRS iV"?
  16. Time to get in touch with Trading Standards, the Advertising Standards Authority and make a fuss on social media?
  17. Not 100% true, what matters is the TYRE diameter. If you increase the wheel diameter but fit lower profile tyres so that the tyre diameter is the same then the speedo calibration will not need to change. As an example - a previous car I owned came with 14" wheels (don't laugh!) and 155/65 tyres but in the summer I fitted 16" wheels with 195/40 tyres - this changed the overall diameter by 0.95% so at 70mph the speedo read 70.95 mph.
  18. That's pretty explicit that traffic signs are displayed on the heads-up:
  19. Have you checked that the pipes to the pressure sensor are clear? It's not unknown for them to become blocked.
  20. Choosing a format option with a smaller cluster size will make more space available for the maps - how so? There are many, many small files (much smaller than the cluster size) so the smaller the cluster size the less "wasted" space.
  21. The Amundsen MIB1 in my Octavia 3 shows PTCD for the postcode entry soft button.
  22. Last month I was charged the £479 fixed price by Marshalls Skoda in Barnstaple to replace the cambelt on my 1.4TSI (also 5 years old), I too had to decline the unnecessary water pump change (when I mentioned that on the 1.4 the water pump is on the opposite end of the engine so changing it isn't necessary there was a loud choking sound from the other end of the phone just like they realised they had been found out!).
  23. That impression is correct, the battery is not charged above around 80%, supposedly to leave some headroom for regenerative braking by using the alternator to further charge the battery.
  24. When I commented on here that my Elegance has 17 inch wheels I was told that the OE fit on the Elegance was 16 inch wheels - which is one reason why a 1.4 Elegance only has Road Tax of £30 (the 17 inch wheels push up the emissions into the next band if the dealer registered it correctly).
  25. Our local farming goods supplier sells the 100x70 timber I needed earlier in the year only in 4.8m lengths, I drove home from their depot with 6 of these on the roof of my Octavia estate using my Thule Aero roofbars spaced as far apart as they would go. It was only about a mile but above 30mph they certainly got a good bounce on despite being pretty solid
