  1. For several years both dealers and independents I've used in Hampshire, Devon and Wiltshire have charged £10 day for a loan car "to cover insurance".
  2. Would be helpful to know what the coding is and what codings you have tried.
  3. There are 2 lists - one for those active, and one for those compatible. If it's not in the active list then it's not enabled.
  4. It sounds to me like that popping sound happens when the infotainment system turns on (it does so when the car is unlocked to allow it to 'boot up' while you're getting in the car), this suggests a possible problem in the power output stage of one of more of the amplifier channels - which is unlikely to be covered by diagnostics. So I would be surprised if a diagnostic scan shows anything, but I would like to be proved wrong so please post the results of the diagnostics.
  5. To understand the risk of any particular car being stolen what we really need to know is the number of that model stolen as a ratio (percentage?) of those actually on the road. For example, if there are 10 examples on the road and 1 is stolen then that makes it a very high risk, but it would never appear in tables that only show the number stolen. Given the very small number of reports on here of stolen Octavias I would have to say my assessment of the risk is low. For 10 years I owned an Audi RS4 Avant which was, at the time, a moderate risk (cars were being stolen and sold on at a profit due to limited supplies) but I never fitted any extra security devices (the data on devices such as Tracker is incomplete as they refuse to state the number of vehicles fitted with a Tracker that are NOT recovered so it's impossible to assess whether they actually reduce the risk) but just took sensible precautions such as parking under street lights when not at home, when at home parking behind another car on the drive, etc.
  6. Is there any non-Skoda amplifier or sub-woofer fitted to your car?
  7. Do the pano roof and rear windows now close one touch using the switches? If they do then it's likely a coding/adaptation issue. Please post exactly what changes you made - if you use VCDS then it keeps a log of changes in C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug as CodingLog.csv and AdpLog.csv which you can open with e.g. Notepad.
  8. It should do, I've never had a panoramic roof (just a 'normal' sunroof) I expect a similar issue of resetting the end points will be needed, time to RTFM I suspect.
  9. Does the one touch work on the rear windows using the switches? If not you need to reset it by winding the windows down and up but hold the switch for a few seconds even after the window is fully up and down.
  10. Press and hold the MENU button.
  11. Posts by customers since Brexit have said that anything too large for Royal Mail is the problem. Weight & size guide
  12. A 2015 Octavia could have either a MIB1 or a MIB2 AMundsen depending on the production date. So first thing is to check which maps you need, easiest way is to visit the Skoda update wbesite and enter your VIN. As it's an Amundsen you need a genuine Skoda SD card, there's no need to pay SKoda prices as they are on eBay for a lot less.
  13. Exactly, aftermarket radios such as the Alpine do not respond to the diagnostic messages from the CAN gateway hence the fault code.
  14. It's all about "Leuchte programming" as well as enabling the light to have the blinking function you have to set the "dimmwert" level and whether that should be a maximum or minimum level, and do this in the appropriate group (there are 4 per lamp). Please post what changes you have made to try to enable this feature. BTW please check that having lights that are not amber flashing is legal in your country (wherever you are). Best way forward is to post an adaptation map from the 09 BCM so someone can take a look and advise.
  15. Have you checked whether music can be played off a 'normal' SD card? This will check whether the problem is the SD card reader hardware.
  16. The brown parts in my Mk3 L&K are much darker, so it looks like it's the 3G4 brown not the WC4 beige.
  17. Looks like I might have to get a cheap(!) part in both 3G4 and WC4 to be sure?
  18. My brothers hearing aids are pretty close to WC4 Stone Beige so I reckon that could also be called "hearing aid beige" - like the Austin Maestro that one of the older engineers I worked with at Lotus used to drive 😂
  19. Has CarPlay been enabled on the infotainment system? My 2016 Octavia L&K had the option shown when scrolling through the MENU options but when clicked it said that it needed to be enabled by means of a FEC/SWaP code. Just had that done by a guy in Redditch (cheaper and quicker than going to the local Skoda dealer) and now able to use CarPlay.
  20. There have been many reports in the UK of business owned plug-in hybrids being returned at the end of the lease with the charge lead still wrapped in its plastic bag and unused. One example https://uk.motor1.com/news/276595/uk-hybrids-never-plugged-in/
  21. Thanks 👍 I know it's probably not WC4 from the parts I've seen online with that suffix are much lighter, so I suspect it's 3G4 for the brown parts and IFX as the general as there are many black parts too. Can start planning some upgrades/retrofits now 😁
  22. My previous Elegance had the pretty common interior plastic parts with suffix 9B9 but my new to me L&K has many brown(?) interior plastic parts. Can anyone advise the equivalent to the 9B9 suffix for these parts?
  23. I can confirm that from experience of hanging upside down in a ditch in my first car, a Renault 6
  24. Holy thread resurrection! Latest VCDS release is 22.3 and a beta 22.6 is publicly available.
  25. I presume the local garage disconnected the battery, when this happens some systems (e.g. ABS) need to have some basic settings redone. I think you need a fault code scan, with e.g. VCDS or OCP, to see why you have problems with cruise and stop/start. BTW there are no cruise control electronics, it's just software in the engine ECU.
