Have you actually determined what's wrong with your existing lights?
-
That's for a right side headlight, and the picture you uploaded before was the left side? Are both faulty?

What does the (K) stand for in the model name?
softscoop replied to jobjor's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I did a bit more research on this. I noticed there were VW with the same (K) designation on that 2016 price list. This promotion from 2016 shows a saving of up to NOK 13,200 on DSG Passat Businessline. https://web.archive.org/web/20160824233501/http://www.volkswagen.no/no/kjop-og-finansiering/kampanje/dsg-passat-stasjonsvogn.html This Passat price list from the same time shows these models with the same "KAMPANJE" description. volkswagen-passat-b8-stv-prisliste-my17-28-04-2016.pdf Looks like it was nothing more than a promotional offer. Whether that means anything different in terms of tax due to the different list prices, not sure -
https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/blog/headlights-point-right-in-europe/#:~:text=Most UK cars with projector, height of the beam pattern. Just reading the actual post, it's talking about when you are driving abroad to not dazzle other drivers. Rather than sticking beam deflectors onto the front of the headlights like you have to with reflector headlights, on the maxidot menu, you can enable tourist mode ( it might be named something similar I can't quite remember off the top of my head) to completely flatten the beam. It's no substitute for fitting a correct beam pattern light, and not 100% sure if it would pass an MOT like that anyway.
-
While that may be true for some cars, it's definitely not possible on a superb.
-
No, not to produce a full rhd beam pattern. You can flatten the beam for when you're driving abroad but it then won't have the kick up to illuminate signs etc
-
If you need a replacement quickly, best bet is 2nd hand from ebay or a breakers etc.

What does the (K) stand for in the model name?
softscoop replied to jobjor's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
This PDF of a 2017 price list seems to show the same model with both NYHET and KAMPANJE with the KAMPANJE models being cheaper. They translate with Google as NEWS and CAMPAIGN Make of that what you will. skodapriser_octavia_2017.pdf -
Before you go to the expense of a new cluster, it might just need drying out. They're a bit of a pain to remove as the bumper needs to be dropped, but once you've got it off, you can assess it for more cracks etc, and see whether it's terminal. If the bulbs are failing simply from water in the unit, and you manage to get it and keep it dry, then the ballast and electronics can all be swapped over.

Alloy Wheels Luxon 18" for sale (1 wheel left)
softscoop replied to lmb's topic in Wheels & Tyres For Sale
The OP is correct, 3T0 601 025H is the Luxon wheel. https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/3t0601025h7zs-aluminium-rim-18-luxon-skoda-36651.html They do look very similar to the Themisto 18" though. Themisto are part no 3T0 601 025 E https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/3t0601025e7zs-aluminium-rim-18-themisto-skoda-17953.html -
They were never the best to begin with, but with them being at least 16 years old now, chances are the projector lenses are dirty, and the reflector bowl has begun to degrade. You can get the reflector bowls recoated, but you'd probably be better off dropping in an entirely new set of projectors. https://retrofitlab.com/collections/skoda-fabia-6y/products/skoda-fabia-6y-1999-2007-bi-xenon-xenon-headlights Make sure you get projectors for left hand traffic/right hand drive.

Fabia Mk1 with Factory Sat Nav/Maxidot
softscoop replied to softscoop's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Nice find that. Not many would be prepared to splash out £12,500 on a 2.0 Fabia and then £2000 nav option on top. -
Have you tried to get in touch with http://motorsport.brs-technology.sk/ ? Their name has come up a couple of times.

Osram Nightbreakers in D1S are now silly expensive. These have good reviews, and you can get a pair for £25. https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/gt-ultra-xenon-d1s-single

As per pab567s post, you have xenon lights. On the mk2 Superb, this means they are bi-xenon with AFS. They use a d1S bulb through a projector lens, with a shutter to control both dipped and main beam, will turn the lights as you corner, and will change the shape of the light beam dependant on your speed and weather conditions. In addition to the D1s bulb, there is a halogen bulb for high beam and flashing the lights. When they're working correctly, they are great at illuminating the road. Do they do the autodance (up down, left right) when they are first turned on? Park about 5m away from a wall with the lights on. Are the beams roughly level with the height of the headlights? Although they last much longer than conventional halogen bulbs, xenon bulbs do output less and less light as they age. Skoda didn't fit particularly brilliant bulbs as stock either. If the lights are working correctly and adjusted correctly, a new set of bulbs will make quite a difference to how much light is output. Also if you can, whilst changing the bulbs, give the inside of the projector a clean

Upgrade recimmendation requested: RNS510.
softscoop replied to Roalbru's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
The RNS510/Columbus is a very old and outdated unit now. You'd be far better off fitting an aftermarket unit. -
Have you got automatic climatronic or manual AC controls? You can swap to the facelift climatronic onto the older cars with just a pin swap on the wiring harness.
-
Did you fit a quality part when you replaced it?

Ballast, 2x required: https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/xenon-headlight-d2s-d2r-ballast-for-hella-5dv-007-760-63-audi-ford-opel-vw/ Pair of bulbs: https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/d-lumina-d2s-50-brightness-35w-hid-xenon-headlight-bulb-set-2-bulbs/
-
No the levelling of the headlights won't cause it to flicker. At the age of the car, it would be prudent to just get 2 new bulbs and ballasts, they are not too expensive these days.
-
The headlights aiming way to low is a classic symptom of the level sensor on the rear suspension coming apart. Xenon headlights are auto-levelling, and rely on the readings from that sensor.

Quantum Oils are owned by VW, and everything is to their own spec. It was/is the correct oil for your car. -

Skoda superb mk2 FL second high beam LED coding
softscoop replied to djordje48's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Have drop in LED bulbs finally caught up with D1S xenon for brightness? When I replaced mine around 12 months ago, all of the LED reviews I could find showed that they were actually still not as bright as a good xenon bulb, so I went with a set of Osram Nightbreakers. But definitely give the inside of the projector a clean as best you can. I've often thought that with a bit of ingenuity and pipe cleaners I could also clean the outside of the projector lens through the main beam bulb hole.
