  1. No the amp was an option. If you have these Sound System speakers in the front door, the you'll have the extra amplifier.
  2. I'll echo what others have said, it's really nice to see that this is in the right hands and isn't just going to end up ragged to death and then binned into a ditch after 2 weeks.
  3. Yes the elegance should have memory seats as standard.
  4. What radio do you have fitted?
  5. Trafficmaster have stopped broadcasting the data over RDS. Have a read through this thread for more info.
  6. The limited edition was a run out special of the pre-facelift Octavia in 2009 only. They had the preface body style but with the facelifted interior. If the OP has a 2011 car, then it's not a limited edition. It's probably registered with the DVLA incorrectly, which happens more often than it should do.
  7. Just checked and it's the same on my MK2 Superb with it's Columbus nav unit.
  8. Yes all the doors are the same metal on the vrs and other models but the wiring and internals for the lock etc may be different dependant on the model and model year. If you can find one in the same colour as your vrs, you may be able to get away with simply bolting it on and stripping all of the innards and lock etc off yours and transferring it all over, then giving it a good polish to match.
  9. Probably the DPF was regenerating while the engine was shut off. How long have you owned the car? It's quite normal, but a longer journey should allow the DPF to complete a regeneration.
  10. 99% certain it will be the DSG oil cooler thermostat causing the problem. Good news is the part is about £20 and can be DIY swapped out in about 30 minutes with only basic tools. Have a search on here, there are a few guides on changing it.
  11. It's just every 40,000 miles. There's no time specified in the service manual.
  12. I would imagine that's had a replacement door from a lower trim model
  13. When they offered you a value, did that compare to anything like what a similar superb to yours pre accident would be worth to buy on today's used car market?
  14. The car can be driven so long as it has a valid MOT , tax and insurance. Being a non structural write off means it won't need an inspection or anything to go back on the road. You could insure and drive it tomorrow, plenty get written off for dents etc then go straight back on the road no problem. Are there any independent bodyworks near you that you could have it transported to for them to do the works?
  15. Have you asked them for the buy back figure, where you get the car back and then repair it yourself. The problem with car insurance repairs is they will only fit new panels and parts, where as if you wanted to get it repaired yourself you can source parts from a breakers etc.
  16. Which reverse camera have you fitted?
  17. The mk2 Superb doesn't have a silica bag in the coolant. That came on the newer models, from I think the mk3 Octavia.
  18. Do you know which generation polo they have come from? Back in the day when I had my Fabia I fitted a polo interior from a 9N Polo, which is the same platform as the Fabia and it went straight in.
  19. Have you actually determined what's wrong with your existing lights?
  20. That's for a right side headlight, and the picture you uploaded before was the left side? Are both faulty?
  21. I did a bit more research on this. I noticed there were VW with the same (K) designation on that 2016 price list. This promotion from 2016 shows a saving of up to NOK 13,200 on DSG Passat Businessline. https://web.archive.org/web/20160824233501/http://www.volkswagen.no/no/kjop-og-finansiering/kampanje/dsg-passat-stasjonsvogn.html This Passat price list from the same time shows these models with the same "KAMPANJE" description. volkswagen-passat-b8-stv-prisliste-my17-28-04-2016.pdf Looks like it was nothing more than a promotional offer. Whether that means anything different in terms of tax due to the different list prices, not sure
  22. https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/blog/headlights-point-right-in-europe/#:~:text=Most UK cars with projector, height of the beam pattern. Just reading the actual post, it's talking about when you are driving abroad to not dazzle other drivers. Rather than sticking beam deflectors onto the front of the headlights like you have to with reflector headlights, on the maxidot menu, you can enable tourist mode ( it might be named something similar I can't quite remember off the top of my head) to completely flatten the beam. It's no substitute for fitting a correct beam pattern light, and not 100% sure if it would pass an MOT like that anyway.
  23. While that may be true for some cars, it's definitely not possible on a superb.
  24. No, not to produce a full rhd beam pattern. You can flatten the beam for when you're driving abroad but it then won't have the kick up to illuminate signs etc
