Your concern is noted. And your view on how much tyre is in contact with the road or how much bounce there is doesn't concern me or my tyre fitter who commented last week when he changed my winter tyres that they always wear evenly.

I run 3bar all round with no issues. The ride is unimportant to me as it's a works vehicle and always fully loaded.

Opions for replacement are either Android (with the usual caveat that not everything Android is going to work as well in your car as the Columbus), or possibly an Amundsen 2 unit from a Yeti, which will need fixing to remove Component Protection and enable all features. Repairing (reloading) the software on your current unit will solve the split screen boot image, but your thuming problem is (again) hardware related. Cost for repair would be close to £200 or so.

There's no Columbus (RNS510) with built in Bluetooth. They never made one.

I just use the cheapest eBay sellers. Generally £12 or so gets a set delivered.

Well, a non responsive touchscreen is an indicator of a failed motherboard I'm afraid. Probably nothing to do with you connecting a Bluetooth module, just unfortunate & coincidental. The fix is a new motherboard (unless you can find someone to repair yours which is rather involved) which isn't really financially viable due to cost & labour. Best idea is a replacement unit. I have a couple in the workshop if you like.

Does your unit have a Microphone on the top right hand side button, or a small speaker with a letter i next to it?

Your problem is hardware related. I can repair it if it's a type I can get spares for, but there's a possibility I won't be able to if you have DAB?

V12 is okay. V10 & V11 can be doubtful.

I'm hoping you bought a genuine cable & not a rip off? If you bought genuine then there's a world of assistance on https://forums.ross-tech.com/index which will point you in the right direction of what's possible and how to do the basics. If you bought a rip off, then you're on your own I suspect.

Yes, a cheap SanDisk usb drive from Amazon and download the software. Sorted. It's a bit clunky insofar as you don't actually put a password on the drive but generate a secure password protected folder inside the drive, but it works.

That depends on him having the Amundsen II unit, and a 2014 will probably be an Amundsen +

Just to clear things up, when you say "engine is not turning on" do you mean the dash lights don't light up, or the engine turns over but refuses to start, or the engine will not turn over?

I've come across this once before on a pre facelift Octavia. Essentially (as I recall) the answer was to take to eBay and locate an adapter to change the cars existing cable to the new antenna.

No, you can't back up.POI's from your current unit. And even if you did then they wouldn't be suitable for the new unit.

Then this time say you're not having it back until it's fixed. An oil warning cannot be ignored otherwise catastrophic engine failure could be a real possibility.

If you have warranty just throw it at Garlands and tell them to sort it.
