About Me

I'm an absolute car nut, but limited by my budget unfortunately.

Car history - 1986 C Fiat Panda (brilliant), 1989 F Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI (loved it), 1995 M Golf 3 GTI (never let me down), 1995 M TVR Chimaera 4L HC (great fun & VERY fast), 2003 Honda Accord Tourer (kids arrived, dull), 2005 Golf 5 GTI DSG (great but unreliable with awful customer service), 2010 FL vRS Petrol Estate DSG in silver with Columbus, xenons, rear park, curtain bags, spare wheel, leather & deleted Octavia badge on boot. Probably the best all round car I've ever had. Love it!

Recently sold Panda 100HP 2008, owned from 2012 to 2014 - great fun little car. Panda now replaced by a 2010 FL Manual 1.8 TSI Scout in Candy White with Columbus, xenons, rear park, heated electric memory seats and now 4 Falken Euro All Season tyres.

August 2016 - Scout now replaced by a 2014 Citigo 75ps Greentech manual, 3-door in Brilliant Silver. Love it! So far, so good.

Octy vRS still going strong at 80k miles - edit: May 2017, sold at 89k miles, replaced with 2014 MkIII Octy vRS 220 DSG Estate in Candy White with Black Pack, Columbus & Pano roof - very, very pleased.

May 2019, Citigo now swapped for a 2014 Golf Mk7 1.4 TSI DSG in Tungsten Silver - one word, brilliant. Mrs Dunc is very happy.

Since July 2019, a Kia Stinger 3.3 GTS registered in March 2019 has replaced the vRS MkIII.  Early days, but just a phenomenal machine.  Full story here:

Stinger sold in September 2021 and replaced with a BMW 530e (G30) M Sport 2018 - a very refined cruiser and, with many local journeys on electric power only, averaging 63mpg overall.  Quite fast, but not really exciting to drive. Unbelievable build quality though - like nothing I've had before.

I find Briskoda very amusing, informative and friendly compared with VW & TVR forums.
