  1. I just stuck it in the small box on the drivers side. Completely hidden.
  2. In really happy that it works for you. I'm sure you will find the car much more responsive now.
  3. You can call Skoda on +44-333-003-7504 Just wrote the error message you get. If you read through this thread you will have a good idea of what to do.
  4. It's caused by a switch on top of the gearbox. The switch fails to update the gear position so you get that error message. There is nothing wrong with the gearbox and it will continue to work, you just get this error message. It's a known fault with all VW group dsg's and you should be able to get a contribution on the repair. It is expensive as they have to take the gearbox selector out from underneath the car to get to the switch. I suggest you contact Skoda Customer care to find out how much they will contribute.
  5. The money is in. Please give me your name and address and I will get it in the post. I really hope it works as well😄
  6. 2016. It has the 1.4 petrol engine. I would think that the connections on the throttle are the same for all the superbs but I don't know whether they are set up differently for different engines, however the pedal box only modifies the output from the throttle so I wouldn't be surprised to find it works on other engines.
  7. I'm sorry but I don't know if it would work. I'm not sure how you could find out, other than trying it. Unless of course any other member has experience of this.
  8. I have recently sold my Superb 1.4 ts and have the pedal box for sale. https://www.racechip.com/pedal-box/xlr.html For those of you who haven't heard of this, it smooths out the throttle response and removes that irritating slow unilinear response that you get on the first quarter of throttle travel. It's very easy to fit, just take off the plug on the top of the accelerator pedal and plug this in. You can dial the response from slow to extremely fast. £90 wanted, a good saving on the new price of around £200
  9. I've just fitted Goodyear vector four seasons, 115x55x17. £133 each from Tyre Shopper fitted. They are more comfortable and quieter than the Continental eco tyres that were fitted from new.
  10. I know you meant valve damage but value damage seems appropriate!
  11. I used some silicone sealer in a bathroom once and drove the car before cleaning my hands properly. I transferred some onto the steering wheel and it was incredibly slippery. Took me ages to get it off.
  12. If you are downloading with a MAC it leaves extra files on the card which have to be removed.
  13. As @xmansaid, a USB stick works fine. You don't need an SD card. The only people who will have problems is if you use a MAC as it leaves files on the card.
  14. Another 'improvement' that makes things worse then. Why is it that common sense is the last thing to be considered. The postcode system had got to be the easiest way of navigating. There's always Waze and Google maps I suppose.
  15. I thought that was what the ignore button was for. I got tired of reading about his mpg so ignored him. Banning does seem to be the nuclear option.
  16. I haven't got the latest model but I can enter the postcode by touching the city location, then a small tab appears on the bottom left of the screen.
  17. I get the same from mine. I don't think the 2.0TSI will be anywhere near as frugal.
  18. You don't get a service book from Skoda, it's online
  19. Are they reflective? If not they are illegal
  20. No it's a switch in the gearbox. If you look Here it explains it. Not many people get this fault, seems to be a bit random. It may even be eliminated on the later models.
  21. I've got the 1.4 and I reckon it's an amazing engine. It pulls like a train and is very quiet. DSG has been ok, although I did have to have the switch replaced. A known fault with all vag cars.
  22. DSG boxes aren't like the old autos. As the initials state it's direct shift, no torque converter that soaks up the power. I think you would find it extremely difficult to get better mpg. I see 50+ quite often on 'B' road runs.
  23. Carfile doesn't get the publicity it deserves. I used it and he beat Carwow easily.
  24. https://tire-calc.com/comparison/235-45-r18-and-235-50-r18/ The diameter is larger so you will be covering more ground per revolution, e.g. going faster than indicated. As you say you have to have insurance approval of you fit non standard size tyres.
  25. That may be so but you probably invalidated your insurance by fitting that size tyre.
