@Plobber apparently it’s to update the whole car. All the control modules, infotainment and virtual cockpit. Lets hope it cures the Starting map view issue too.

@Plobber I have just had the call to get mine updated. They want the car for 2 days! It must be a very large file, unless they have to check every feature works as it should after the update?

As far as I know, the virtual pedal is an additional option. The SEL in the UK comes with electric tailgate but not virtual pedal. Perhaps your Business spec doesn’t have the electric tailgate as standard? The sheet in you photo appears to be a brochure type page which shows various options. Does your car have a panoramic sunroof?

Just a thought… does being able to control them from the front, prevent them being controlled from the rear?

It has saved my bacon, and pride a couple of times. I thought I’d reversed slowly into a low concrete wall as the car stopped with a bang. When I pulled forward to check, there was no damage at all. The second time, I was trying to get out of a very tight driveway into a narrow lane. Going forward, the car again stopped with a bang and I was convinced I had hit something hidden in the hedge in front. Got out to check before moving the car and it had stopped about 6” from the hedge.

I have the 2.0 diesel and quite often mine does it too. It will often do it at random when the car is parked and I’m sitting in it. I don’t understand why.

There is indeed. Set by the screen in the graphic vehicle seating

with the ignition on, adjust he seat to how you want it. Press and release the set button and then press the 1,2 or 3 button. You should then hear the bong. If you feel the need to make fine adjustments while you’re driving, just adjust, press the buttons as before. You need to get a feel for the buttons before you set off mind. AFAIK you don’t need the Skoda app to do this

I’ve had quite a few warnings like this on both my Mk2 and Mk1. I reckon it’s just the ectrickery having a bit of a brain fart. Turn it off and on again and the problem goes away. My reasoning is that if the ‘fault’ was still there if would show up immediately.

Mine was a 2020 SEL 1.5 TSI, recently replaced with a Mk2 2.0 diesel SEL

Mine is booked in to have this done. Got a call last week. As above, I think it’s something to do with the ACC.

You should be able to open the boot from around 5 metres away but have to be within 2 to close it.

There is some sort of mechanical mechanism that connects the interior and exterior door handles to the door latch. They forgot to reattach it. The mirror glass clips onto its mount with about 4 clips on the back of the glass. They didn’t push them all into place.

Well that’s a bloody cheek! I would have thought that they would give you a courtesy car for free as it’s warranty work. My dealer never charges for this. I would assertively refuse to pay it. Good luck

They ordered the replacement mirrors and they came 2 weeks later. It only took them a couple of hours to fit. Make sure everything works as it should when you get it back. See my post above.

The felt bar is for cleaning the infotainment screen. I would never have guessed either, but my dealer knew.. As for the gear stick and additional stalks, they look complicated but you soon get used to them. The only thing I don’t like is the rear wiper switch position.

Tools and common sense? Apparently not. It went in on Friday for the new mirrors to be fitted. Discovered on Saturday that they’d forgotten to reconnect the internal door pull and fit the mirror glass correctly. Back down there yesterday! All good now though.

Wow! Its been to the dealer. I pointed out the issue and told them it probably just needs lubricating, as I had previously cured it temporarily doing this . Nope, apparently the cure is to replace both mirrors! Me no understand. Surely a couple of hours labour and a smear of silicone grease would have sorted it? Is this a sign of the times when we no longer have anyone in a workshop that can use tools and common sense, but relies on a computer to tell them what's wrong and just does what it tells them. As someone with an engineering background of many years that makes me so sad.

When the mirrors fold and unfold, they make this horrible grinding, squeaking noise! I have tried the trusty WD40, didn't work. I have tried spraying silicone lube in the hinge, didn't work. Its driving me a bit crackers! Has anyone else had the same issue? It seems a bit silly to have to drive 30 miles to the nearest dealer just to have them squirt their magic lube into them if I can save the trip. If all else fails then I reckon I'm going to have to.

I have the same issue, but am happy to wait for the update, as I tend to rely mainly on voice instructions and only use the main screen map for junctions I’m not sure about

Not a significant amount, no. Generally the new car is quieter than the outgoing model on all road surfaces. There must be better sound insulation on the diesel too, as it is no more noisy than the 1.5 petrol it replaced.
