  1. with the ignition on, adjust he seat to how you want it. Press and release the set button and then press the 1,2 or 3 button. You should then hear the bong. If you feel the need to make fine adjustments while you’re driving, just adjust, press the buttons as before. You need to get a feel for the buttons before you set off mind. AFAIK you don’t need the Skoda app to do this
  2. I’ve had quite a few warnings like this on both my Mk2 and Mk1. I reckon it’s just the ectrickery having a bit of a brain fart. Turn it off and on again and the problem goes away. My reasoning is that if the ‘fault’ was still there if would show up immediately.
  3. Mine was a 2020 SEL 1.5 TSI, recently replaced with a Mk2 2.0 diesel SEL
  4. Mine is booked in to have this done. Got a call last week. As above, I think it’s something to do with the ACC.
  5. You should be able to open the boot from around 5 metres away but have to be within 2 to close it.
  6. There is some sort of mechanical mechanism that connects the interior and exterior door handles to the door latch. They forgot to reattach it. The mirror glass clips onto its mount with about 4 clips on the back of the glass. They didn’t push them all into place.
  7. Well that’s a bloody cheek! I would have thought that they would give you a courtesy car for free as it’s warranty work. My dealer never charges for this. I would assertively refuse to pay it. Good luck
  8. They ordered the replacement mirrors and they came 2 weeks later. It only took them a couple of hours to fit. Make sure everything works as it should when you get it back. See my post above.
  9. The felt bar is for cleaning the infotainment screen. I would never have guessed either, but my dealer knew.. As for the gear stick and additional stalks, they look complicated but you soon get used to them. The only thing I don’t like is the rear wiper switch position.
  10. Thanks for that, I’ve been searching for the elusive button for ages.
  11. Tools and common sense? Apparently not. It went in on Friday for the new mirrors to be fitted. Discovered on Saturday that they’d forgotten to reconnect the internal door pull and fit the mirror glass correctly. Back down there yesterday! All good now though.
  12. Wow! Its been to the dealer. I pointed out the issue and told them it probably just needs lubricating, as I had previously cured it temporarily doing this . Nope, apparently the cure is to replace both mirrors! Me no understand. Surely a couple of hours labour and a smear of silicone grease would have sorted it? Is this a sign of the times when we no longer have anyone in a workshop that can use tools and common sense, but relies on a computer to tell them what's wrong and just does what it tells them. As someone with an engineering background of many years that makes me so sad.
  13. When the mirrors fold and unfold, they make this horrible grinding, squeaking noise! I have tried the trusty WD40, didn't work. I have tried spraying silicone lube in the hinge, didn't work. Its driving me a bit crackers! Has anyone else had the same issue? It seems a bit silly to have to drive 30 miles to the nearest dealer just to have them squirt their magic lube into them if I can save the trip. If all else fails then I reckon I'm going to have to.
  14. I have the same issue, but am happy to wait for the update, as I tend to rely mainly on voice instructions and only use the main screen map for junctions I’m not sure about
  15. Not a significant amount, no. Generally the new car is quieter than the outgoing model on all road surfaces. There must be better sound insulation on the diesel too, as it is no more noisy than the 1.5 petrol it replaced.
  16. After replying to this topic, I drove the car with specific regard to road noise. It is really quite quiet. Certainly quiet enough to have a conversation at normal speech volume, even at motorway speeds.
  17. no idea about other makes, but even compared to my previous 1.5 petrol, it seems quieter in the cabin. Probably down to the tyres? I had Pirelli on the old car and the new one is shod with Hankook. As they are the main contributor to road noise, I would go to a tyre website and search for the tyre and compare road noise levels.
  18. The start/stop icon is also on the top of the screen
  19. I found that, as a test, which is why I only use it on dual carriageways and motorways. My engineering brain took over and I just wanted to explore the tech. Just can’t help it. 🤣
  20. The ACC on my car is active right down to 0 mph and will follow the car in front at a safe distance. It will drive off automatically when the car in front moves forward, even when the engine has stopped due to start/stop, I unlike my 2020 Mk1 Kodiaq which needed a slight press on the accelerator to kick it back into life. As far as I can see, the only difference between ACC and Travel assist is the TA steers to follow curves in the road. It will do it on any road but can get caught out on minor roads. Motorways and dual carriageways it works fine.
  21. That’s a bummer, happy hunting though
  22. I had mine for 4 1/2 years, a 1.5 TSI, and had no issues what so ever. Reliable, comfortable and a nice place to be. As Yogi said, I would collect it it possible. That way you can have a old look round the paint for scratches and supermarket dents. They won’t show on a video. Nothing more annoying in my book.
  23. The only thing I don’t like about the rear camera is the location to be in the wiper sweep. It has to sit a way from the top of the screen as the top trim is at a funny angle. I’ve kind of got used to it though. Edit: I’ve been thinking about this. I think it’s possible to mount it on the trim piece at the top of the boot, right in the centre of the screen.
  24. How Much??? Just phoned Skoda to get a price. £400!!! Mr Skoda you are having a laugh. I reckon all their parts are the same price because the intake flap motor went recently and that was £400 quid too. mind you, it comes as a complete assembly with the intake manifold. It’s a separate part so why? Rant over.
