OEM Screenwash?
I’ve never bought consumables from dealers. It’s not their forte. Over half a century of motoring I’ve used a lot of screen wash from Halfrauds and similar outlets. More recently have been using Prestone. Summer and Winter blend. Never had a problem with washer pumps. Typical manufacturer/dealer BS.

Petrol Lid Sticking
I think VAG cars all work the same way. We have 2. There’s a solenoid hidden in the rear panel. Not very accessible. And quite ££££ It clicks in and out and turns the locking “key” 90 degrees. The oblong head of the key locks behind a very small piece of the lid. Circled in the photos. A few minutes with the appropriate tools can remove a small piece of plastic. And the flap will never lock again whether the solenoid is working or not. Option B - that I haven’t tried - would be to cut the head off the moving solenoid pin. That seems more brutal. ps - I’ve been lucky not to have fuel stolen in half a century of motoring.

Petrol Lid Sticking
When the plunger stuck on a previous Superb my nearest dealer chap forced it open somehow. I then cut away a piece of the “lock” inside the flap so that it would never lock shut again. I slept easily ever after. Like a lot of locks, have you tried pushing in very gently on the flap (to offload the plunger) then unlock the vehicle while holding the flap in. Brute force rarely gets you there. Understandable when you know how it works. If you watch the plunger working it moves in and out then turns 90 degrees. Guaranteed to fail in time. Some suggest silicon lube spray helps.

Virtual Cockpit - Fuel Gauge Not Resetting after Fuelling
If you don’t trust the fuel gauge, then just treat it like a bike and reset the trip meter after filling up. (I’ve never met a fuel pump that didn’t give me what it said on the pump) Then you’ll know you can drive 400 to 500 miles before filling up again.

Can I change from 18" wheels to 16" wheels?
https://www.willtheyfit.com/wheels/ Of course you can choose other wheels. I use winter wheels so have often selected new wheels. From 19” to 17”. From 17” to 16”. Just check your overall diameter is close to the original wheel diameter and check the wheel offset (ET value) suits your car. On a previous Superb I bought 16” steel wheels & tyres from a dealer. For my first Kodiaq I bought 17” black alloys from a dealer and tyres online. For a Polo I bought genuine VW 16” wheels online from a European trader and tyres online. All good.

Boot Mat
I also prefer the full plastic tray without any gaps. Not sure which make, but it has a non-slip square in the middle. Is working well in my 2nd Kodiaq. Yes it has to be removed when using 7 seats, but I simply use a section of large cardboard sheet to give me a mini protective cover for what’s left of the boot floor and the rear of the row 3 seats. It lives underneath the plastic tray.

Need help with Cruise Control
This is the answer. You have learned to switch the cruise on. The dash shows this where the present total miles are shown. While driving you simply press SET when you reach your chosen speed. Subsequent presses will increase cruise setting by 1mph. Press the lower (minus) will decrease by 1mph. My cruise buttons are probably the most used buttons on my cars and bike.

Satnav ...again
I still keep a Garmin GPS stuck to my screen for all the functionality missing from built in units.

What do I replace my Skodiaq with
I’ve never enjoyed a “dealer alliance”. Dealer quality seems to change with the weather. It always seems my previous salesman has moved on. I’ll deal with anyone, anywhere when the deal is right. I hate car dealers with a vengeance.

What do I replace my Skodiaq with
I’m on my second Kodiaq. So will be 6 years worth in March 2023. I couldn’t see anything to match the value for money. This one has several extras that I really enjoy, so I expect to keep it an extra 4th year when VWFS send me the routine notice in a few months. To replace this one with an exact replica has become silly money with Skoda playing games with spec and packages. Maybe they’ll offer to sell it to me. As for a non-Skoda replacement? That’s a challenge.

Has anyone worked out how to disable remote boot opening?
Zapped the boot open from about 40m. Can pop it from anywhere inside house. Handy when loading up with luggage with boot 3 steps from front door. But I’d say it can’t open “accidentally” from afar. When washing car I sometimes have doors locking and unlocking as I crouch around the sides and have had the boot lid start closing when I got my foot unintentionally under the bumper while messing around at the rear of the car.

Sat nav zoom control
Could the model of interest have Virtual Cockpit (VC)? I’m loving my VC. SatNav zoom on VC is directly under my right thumb.

Things you wish you’d ordered with your Kodiaq!
I topped up the OEM tint with a visit to a friendly window tinting outfit. Very happy with result. I paid £££ for the rear door blinds on a Superb and regretted it because they were rarely used and simply toys for the grandchildren.

Locking wheel nut code
My dealer holds a case with all the locking bolt key nuts. I learned this when the car was in for service, but he couldn’t find the key nut in the boot because I keep it handy in the centre glove box. I’d certainly consider throwing the locking bolts away, but can’t be bothered

Replacing headlight halogens with Philips Led
That idea got thrown out almost immediately when They realised how many vehicles have been modified already, and lower power lamps are not a bad idea. Incorrect brightness and/or alignment will be an MOT failure of course - and that’s where poorly fitting lamps come unstuck. (I’ve happily MOTd HID lamps on my bike many times in lieu of H7 lamps)

A first world problem. Haven’t, met it myself.

Things you wish you’d ordered with your Kodiaq!
11 years ago I forked out for rear door blinds and park assist on a Superb estate, which I kept for 6 years. And soon regretted it £££££ Never used them after playing a few times. Just not an everyday tool for me. Now, I love my Virtual Cockpit and DCC. Flip-flop the settings on every journey to suit the road and my mood. Along with mandatory hot seats, wheel and screen. Oh, I also love my basic cruise control. Possibly the most used switch in the car. ACC doesn’t cut it for me. I hope I can buy this car from BCA in 2023 as I’ll never get one as good again (VFM).

New brochure 20th June 2022 (one version now from stock only)
A while ago I thought the new Fabia would be a front runner as a replacement for our No.2 car at the end of the year, but the obscenely priced Extra Packages have probably sunk that idea. The base car has been stripped bare. I’ll be looking closely at the competition.

Skoda Connect down again?
My globe flips from white to red randomly but it doesn't bother me as the App and whole Connect systems serves no useful purpose for me.
