I prefer a real tint
I’ve splashed out on paint in the past, but it’s getting silly these days. Red for £1,000+ no thanks. My wife and I are liking the poverty blue. I’ve also wasted money on blinds in a previous Superb, but I found them a faff and they don’t shade the boot area. The money I saved on paint contributed to other extras I find more useful.

Diesel or Petrol
But you can’t buy a 2 wheel drive 190. Petrol or diesel. So your 190 just happens to be a 4x4. And a few mpg is the least of our worries.

Diesel or Petrol
I only test drove a 190 and immediately decided a 1.5 would be disappointing. ”Satisfactory” for one isn’t “satisfactory” for everyone. No one ever complained of “too much power”. The petrol is soooo much quieter than the diesel.

Diesel or Petrol
I enjoyed a couple of 190 diesels. Call it 36-38 average over 6 years. I’ve just taken on a 190 petrol and enjoyed just over 500 miles in my first week. Brim to brim suggests I’ll see around 32-36 mpg on mixed roads. Dash showed 36 mpg on a trip almost 100 miles one day.

Rear wiper blade 2022 VRS?
Having just received my new Kodiaq, I’ve joined this club - “my old spare blade won’t fit”. No obvious reason for Skoda changing the mount. I’m disappointed my 2 spare A331 blades won’t fit. But, considering the above tip regarding renewing the rubber blade only, that’s option 1. Having now dismantled an old 331 blade, I think it might be possible to simply remove the 2023 central mounting piece and refitting it to an old style 331 blade. Option 2 for consideration in future at blade change time. ps - the front screen blade mounts remain the same so my stock of Polo / Kodiaq Bosch blades can be used in future, even though Polo and Kodiaq come with different lengths pps - I like to carry spare wiper blades under the boot floor in case one blows off, or as I found one time a German vandal ruined my rear wiper arm and took the blade

Jacking Pads - Lifting Point Pads
I’ve been successfully using my trolley jack on the standard cill point for years using a block of wood that has naturally created a vee slot to fit the cill. I consider the online slotted plastic ice pucks but never followed up on them.

Fuel flap lock
I met the “fail to open” problem on a previous Superb and got a dealer to force it open somehow. I then modified the flap locking lug by cutting a piece out so it never locked again. I couldn’t live with the fear of intermittent jamming. And refused to go through the hassle of fitting a new lock. A poor design.

Help me decide
A Race Blue DSG will suit. Its a lovely colour. My wife ran a Race Blue Octavia for 3 years. It looked great the day it departed. Don't be afraid of a DSG box. We’ve had many. We await the arrival of my wife’s new Polo with the 110 engine with DSG. I’m not expecting any problems. ps - my new car is FOC Energy Blue and it’s growing on me

One of the first things I did when my new Kodiaq was delivered yesterday was to lift the bonnet. Tick ✅ One shiny engine cover.

How to change clock to 24H?
Thank you for this thread. Let me change to 24 hour clock in my new Bear. Was seemingly impossible via the obvious Vehicle settings menu screen. A silly backward step from Skoda.

Just to keep the record straight. Out with the old Red one yesterday. In with the new Blue one today.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Pleasantly surprised this afternoon when my (Stirling) dealer phoned and offered to deliver car to my doorstep. 19 weeks from order date. Thank you very much, as it’s been strange being a totally car-less household for only 1 day. Also awaiting phone call to say wife’s replacement Polo has arrived. As it’s Kodiaq number 3 I didn’t need much of a handover. It went something like “here’s your keys, there’s the seat memory button, boot shelf is under the floor, sign here.” And I don’t mean that in any way critical. Very happy with the way it looks in FOC Energy Blue. And sooooo quiet - filled up with petrol 20p cheaper than diesel. The saving on £1,000 red paint contributed to a repeat of VC, DCC, winter pack, kick open boot lid. A rear camera isn’t my primary means of reversing. We (my wife) enjoys volume knob for radio. I like the new steering wheel controls. My hot wheel is easier to switch on than old model. Surprised to find that KESSY unlocked the car using rear door. Haven’t used Hankook tyres before so that will be interesting. Unfortunately, one of it’s first drives will be to local tip with a few builder sacks full of garden rubbish. IF - I reach the end of this contract, I’ll have enjoyed 10 years of Kodiaq driving.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Dealer confirmed that the car is with him. 19 weeks from ordering. As my 2nd Kodiaq is departing tomorrow, I'd love the new one on Friday, but it might be Saturday. Gotta do some paperwork tomorrow, so hope to eyeball the new blue one. ps - I bet there isn't a cleaner 3 year old Bear in the country. Someone will be lucky.

Heavy corrosion around the Turbo and I am still within 6 months of the purchase
It is disappointing, but that’s life. We’re all living with bits of bare metal turning rusty from day 1. From engine parts to brake parts. And anything underneath painted black has pretty thin paint. Dealer sent me underside video from service and it looks horrible after 3 years.

Mud Flap Dilemma
Mats! Today our Polo GTI was collected by BCA at end of (extended) contract. The original fluffy mat set was still in the original plastic pack, because I’d asked for rubber mats and mud flaps on day 1. As the GTI cannot be fitted with mud flaps due to sill trim, the salesman gave us rubber mats and boot tray FOC. Who uses fluffy mats in cars these days? My incoming Kodiaq will be the third one to wear the same rubber mats.

Permanently disable Kessy on Scala SE L
The point is - life is so easy. 1. simply take hold of door handle, open door, climb in car, push start button. 2. No need to fumble in pocket (or handbag) to find the fob, fiddle with right button to unlock car. Then return to step 1. 3. Climb out of car and simply touch door handle. Then walk away. But prefer to return to Step 2 to lock car. Where's the down side of KESSY? There is none. I scoff at my relatives with Audis and Beemers - still fumbling with fobs, because the KESSY package is probably £££££.
