Cycling on a York exercise bike
Yes though, (to Colin) good idea to incorporate different sports, topics and especially general health and tips....

Cycling on a York exercise bike
I think you need to be upping your peak heart rate shy for a good cardio workout..... Ideally upwards of at least 85 bpm. Should be roughly 50% of your max. 68 bpm max for 30 minutes at average around 14 mph workout is pretty low. Calorie burn is about average for 2 hours exercise by my reckoning, so good.

That's a lot of cars, Phil. ........................ ( there's always one....... I'll get my coat, Lol).

Two tv progs that may interest
Good show again with Tiff and Paul, with bits from Olly and Sid.......... I especially liked the Mclaren Longtail sales pitch regarding the options list........ one of the options is to have f-all in it, Lol. And that includes the door cards. Worlds greatest cars was not so great this week imo, but Hot Hatch lovers would have loved it...... Looking forward to next weeks programme. Followed by Motor Pickers......

Roof bars help!
Not keen on them overhanging the sides like that ^^^. I chopped my Thule ones down so they have minimal overhang. Look a lot better now though I hardly use them now to be fair.

Alternative to keep pulling fuse
Why tell the Op to do something that they have said they do not want to do and they have given their reasons. why they don't want to??? Just curious why someone would do this.

Exit message on centre console
@ablgoose Have you tried pressing the ok 'button'???? See what happens. (I'm assuming it is touchscreen). Or tried contacting the previous owner, or asked the selling garage?

'Everyone out the car'.......................... I didn't know Politicians had anything to do with designing Skoda cars. How stupid do the designers and manufacturers think their buyers are???? Well, I guess they think we are stupid as they think we believe Skoda are 'Simply Clever', Lol.

immobilizer active car wont start advice please
...... Sorry, shouldn't laugh........ Probably just a loose wire somewhere, earth wire or the like..... (time for someone to laugh at me now, Lol). Have you checked the battery terminals and connections are clean and tight. I'm sure you have already.

Boot courtesy lights not working
@BristolPete Yes, maybe just try a new bulb also. Easy and cheap enough. I get what you say about them both stopping working but would be the first step IMO. Keeping spare bulbs is very sensible anyway.

immobilizer active car wont start advice please
@sealover1 Do you have only one key fob??? If you have two then try the other one to see if that works. If trying a non fob key then this is correct as these do not contain an immobiliser chip. Car will start iirc, but soon cut out. We have to assume this is a new issue with a key fob that you have been using for a while, yes????????

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
I did that on my valve George. I let the tyre down first and pushed the valve in to try and squeeze sealant in, and then reinflated it. Didn't work, Lol. In the end the garage only charged me a few quid to remove, clean and re-fit..... Local very small indy place tho.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
My valve leak was an alloy wheel. Quite common I believe.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
Ask the fitter to pay special attention, ideally find the leak first so you can explain, or ask them to find the leak before they remove the tyre from the wheel, so that the same leak doesn't arise. A newly fitted tyre will probably rectify the problem though. I asked the fitter to make sure the valve seat on mine was cleaned thoroughly before fitting new tyre.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
My slow leak was definitely from the valve seat. As you say, poorly finished, although mine are old also, but never had a valve leak before....... Fairly easy to find a leak though.

DSG and handbrake on slope
Topic started in Octavia mk 4, but is this the intended purchase car??? I Agree with eRoot as not having the weight of the car resting on the pawl when parked on a slope. But then I would take other measures if I had a manual also if parking on a 'significant slope, just to be sure.
